Thank you lovely lesson. Gave me just enough to have a go at the interesting bits. After work tomorrow I should be able to have a go. Looking forward to it. 👍
This is a brilliant lesson and offers so many different layers than (with respect) other teachers. That simple lick at the end is such a delightful addition, thanks Joe!
Great lesson Joe, I can’t say enough about sir MC’s mastery of melody, he can take simple ideas and adorn them into mastery. Oh, and then There is George who can do the same, the older I get, the more I appreciate the Beatles .

Thank you Dan, great to know that people like yourself are finding my lessons helpful. Thanks for taking the time to comment. All the best, keep watching..
Joe I haven't, I take things very slow, been watching and rewinding to get the details right, will learn this video th n onto part 2. The best time to visit Boston is October, we have had a fantastic fall here, it's the best place on earth to be at that time. I am addicted to playing this guitar, just bought it at a 2d hand store, Fender acoustic, It's the first guitar I've ever owned and just love the sound, Cheers,
Really Glad to find you Joe, I just love your teaching, very well done, you seem like a really good guy, Makes me homesick for England, I really would love a finger picking lesson please, Been playing guitar for years, UA-cam has helped me come along leaps and bounds, and your a fantastic example of how it is used to teach guitar, Thank you very much, will, always watch.
Hey Barry, thanks for taking the time to comment. Where about you based then ? You wouldn't be missing the weather, lashing down here ! When you say fingerpicking, it's quite a broad subject from classical to blues, ragtime or just picking out instrumentals. Essentially, if you haven't already, you need to spend time on your right hand, this is where a lot of that kind of thing comes from. Your actually in luck because, I'm thinking of doing a video on fingerpicking basics, in the near future. You might also like to check my website if you haven't already: joesguitarlessons.weebly.com/ All the best Joe
I like that you actually sing the song. So many don't. I learned how to play by following other people playing a song, so it is great for me. I like also that you show strumming and then fingerpicking and then riffs. I can choose which I like to play. Thanks for sharing this.
Thanks Joe! I would love to see your finger picking video on Eleanor Rigby Your style of teaching is so helpful. Not too over the top technical! Lets us work with the bare bones thanks
+Preston Johnson Thanks Preston, glad you find the lessons useful. When I get around to recording fingerpicked version I will upload, hopefully it won't be too technical, having said that I would definitely say it will be an intermediate piece. Thanks for getting in touch
Thanks Roddy, for taking the time to comment. Glad you enjoyed the video. just in case you are interested i have a patreon page where i have lots of exclusive content. here is link www.patreon.com/joesguitarlessons
Thanks so much for taking the time to do your videos. I especially like your suggestions for doing some little embellishments to the basic chord sequences. By the way I mean that in the nicest way; as in little but very effective. Thank you.
+Phil Wane hey Phil thanks for taking the time to get in touch. Yeah I think sometimes it can be really important to try and use the imagination rather than concentrating on every little lick, note for note it doesn't really help as much in the long term. Hope that makes sense. Thanks for watching
awesome lesson!!! this song came into my mind yesterday and I was dieing to play it but couldn't find the good chords and rhythms until I saw your video. Thanks so much!!
I'm over in Boston Ma, I haven't ventured into finger picking yet, except "dust in the wind, and black bird, I just really liked the way you play this song, iv always had a guitar, but it's only now at 56 the penny seems to have dropped, I'm coming along leaps and bounds thanks to two other guys on you tube, Alan Robinson and georgierose so glad to find you, I'm going to learn a massive amount from you. I will go to your site also. Thank You, The guitar has enriched my life I adore the sound of an acoustic.
+Barry Oneill Hey Barry, good to hear from you again. Wow Boston I was just talking to a friend the other day saying how much I'd like to go there in the fall meant to be beautiful. Maybe one day. Yes UA-cam is great for learning all kinds of things not like it used to be when you just used to have to sit down on your own playing along to records. Have you checked out part two of this tutorial? As you mention fingerpicking that version is much more detailed. All the best Joe

Thanks for these lessons. Similar to other comments, small embellishments make such a difference. That way the beautiful simplicity of the song is not lost but it is made more interesting.
Always a pleasure to follow your lessons, great tunes and great arrangements! Just a simple question, what pick do you normally use when strumming? It's a dunlop .60mm? Thank you Joe!
Hey Giangio, Thanks for taking the time to get in touch. Glad your finding the lessons helpful. Yep your spot on with the pick Jim Dunlop .60 for strumming .88 if i'm going to play a lead line..
