You are the man and a life saver... My truck has been making that sound and it makes me want to pull my hair out everytime I'm in it. I thought the same thing you did on what the problem was. Glad you found the problem. Two thumbs up for you. Great job.
Hey, thanks a lot! Since I’ve replaced those CHEAP POOR EXCUSES FOR FASTENERS, the squeaking has completely gone away. Toyota just cut a corner here BIG TIME. It’s like they first made the holes a certain size and then realized they’d need a specific sized body panel fastener that they didn’t have in their parts bin that’d appropriately fit the hole, and just said, “Ah, Hell with it” and just allocated something that “sorta does the job.” I just tapped in the largest diameter plastic faster I could find that fits very snuggly. If a dealer EVER TELLS YOU THAT IT MIGHT BE HVAC HOSES RUBBING TOGETHER IN THE DASH, please please please do yourself a favor and exhaust this potential problem area first! Don’t let fools screw you over! It might just be a $5 fix!
I started yaving that obnoxious chirp a couple months ago from the same location. After watching this video, i checked and both of those trum screws were completely loose and just floating around in there. Ill be relacing these asap, thanks!
Hey this is fantastic video, i have same problem usually after off-roading the sound will get worse. Thought it was sound from AC vent. I hit the dash hard everyime I heard this thing. I probably take look at my truck and i will be investigated.
I have this problem also. Cannot figure out what is causing the issue. It just like you mentioned chirping sound only when it’s cold and only when driving over bumps. Hope someone figures this out because I can’t figure it out 😂
Did that fix the squeaking? Cuz mine has the same thing from time to time and I think it's something else. I never took it in for what I was thinking... but I will check under the hood on my Tundra and see if that piece is loose. So did the squeaking go away after you tightened that piece down?
It is nice to see someone taking their time and make a video to help other people. Thank you!

Completed the fix with a Hillman #10 x 24 Brass Well Nut, a #10 x 24 machine screw and a #10 washer from Lowe's. Thank you very much, @B Clizzle
i have a '12. my dash sound is more like a "chirp". but its only when its cold out and over big enough bumps, like train tracks.

I used toggle bolts to fix mine!
What size?
@@jakeestrada1239 its been a long time i think i used 1/4
@@joshforcha668 awesome thank you
What did you find to replace it with?
Just pull one out and take it to a hardware store with you. At Lowe's they are in the "specialty/ automotive" drawers in the hardware section.
What brand dash cover do you have?
Nice work. How about a clunky/squeaky driver's seat in my 08? Anybody?

Mine has the squeak and sounds like a acorn rattling around in there
Lol. Check under your panel air filter (bottom of the air box); there might be an acorn or two in it!
