I have to disagree with the shoes matching the bag. It looks out of style. Watch female newscasters, they wear nude pumps a lot and that elongates the legs and makes women look taller and slimmer.

Thank you, Shea. I'm 64, and I refuse to bow down and start wearing "old lady" clothes. That doesn't mean that I'm going to be wearing a crop top (which you look fabulous in!), but I don't think I should be forced into a house coat and orthopedic shoes. I'm petite, I workout, and when I wear jeans, I usually do a French tuck, because it defines my waistline. Someone told me that I was too old to be tucking in the front of my top. Ugh.
I say wear whatever you feel good in, and ignore what others say!

Soon to be 54 and I’m with you! I hate the articles, videos etc that are titled : haircuts/makeup/styles for over 50! Like, I’m wearing what I like and what suits me regardless if it’s trending, not trending or what people two generations younger than me are telling me is in style LOL I like Shea’s videos because they’re light hearted and most often than not I agree with her!

I'm in my 40s - I still wear crop tops. What I will do is wear something loose on the bottom - an A-line maxi skirt, loose pants. I believe in the tight/loose dressing and everything can still be worn! Because I do, no one knows what age I am.

Here’s the thing. We are all adults, and I’m sure we all have very different tastes and styles. We’re going to wear what we want and what looks best for us. Videos are fun to watch but we’re still going to dress how we want. I am a middle aged southern woman and you will have to pry my matching bag out of my cold dead hands lol

I'm in my 40s and since my teenage daughter is the same size we pretty much share our closets 😂 i definitely don't wear ALL the things she's able to, but when we shop it usually ends up that we like the same stuff (I thinks she's got good taste in fasion) so BONUS for both of us! I once told her that I should start wearing things my "age" and she said "what the heck does that mean? Who cares, wear whatever you want!" 👍
Thanks for all the pointers. I’m 72 and wear clothes from Junior department at times. I agree with everything you said. I do have a hard time letting go of matching my purse to shoes. If they don’t match I don’t worry about it but sometimes I just like to match them.
In Belgium, combining running shoes (preferably NB or Asics) with shirt-dresses or mom jeans are considered to be very fashionable 😄 maybe it’s just us 😂 Love your video btw ❤😊

Just because it's fashionable doesn't mean it looks good. Do you want people to see your shoes or your face first? Wearing shoes meant for sports with jeans or dresses throws the proportions off and causes the shoes to be prominent so that the eye goes there first. Not good.
LOL I wear my NBs with jeans and dresses all the time. So do most people I see. I’m from the southeast in America so maybe we just don’t have “style”….but we are comfy 😊

I admit I like one of these mistakes... the running shoes with jeans or other pants. It's Gorpcore, a athflow trend that is very popular in Korea and Japan. When done right I think it looks really cool.
I don’t personally match my shoes with my purses (mostly because I have neutral bags that I wear year round) but all those examples you showed looked sooooo cute! I don’t think it looks tacky at all!
Yeah. No, I'm wearing shoes that match my purse whenever I feel like it. I love doing this myself and I appreciate when others make an effort to coordinate their colors. It's classic, definitely not a mistake.

Louis Vuitton Neverfulls are practical and smart for work, especially for those of us who have to commute on trains. I have the monogram one and it is the best thing I have ever bought. Had it since Aug 2016, worn everyday since and whilst the leather just about needs replacing it's still going strong.

Thank you for saying that it’s okay to not “dress like my age.” I really struggle with this one because I do like some styles that I think I pull off really well, but stress over because I feel like I’ve “aged out of.” I’m not talking about mini skirts or anything like that - just like a high top sneaker or a cute fitted t-shirt. Again, I can pull them off - so I’m going to stop stressing! 😁

The LV Neverfull will "always" have a time and place in fashion society. I think it is an iconic bag ( that's being discontinued, btw) that's perfect for travel, a casual day out shopping, going to an afternoon lunch and movie, etc. Now, if you are getting dressed up in a cocktail dress or putting on something ultra dressy for a wedding, then pull down the Neverfull to wear with those examples... I'd not advise that.

I believe the Neverfull is timeless and precious with a super casual outfit.
It’s the only bag I’ve found that’s big enough and tough enough for travel. I recommend an LV with a zipper though to keep things in on the X-ray belt and stuffing under the seat. I recommend an Ebene.
And is amazing for travelling

I think having a matching bag, belt, and shoes can be lovely but I can see it not working in Shea’s style. A lot of the pieces she wears are very simple and don’t have a lot of detail so I can see that whole m matching set being very obvious and overpowering where if she had a more flouncy, detailed/girly style it would blend more. Shea likes to look sleek and modern and works it well, but I’m more of a vintage girly type of style and that’s where the matchy matchy fits better

Love the positive vibe of suggesting alternatives. I do think matching solid colored shoes and handbag is classic and looks well put together. A great way to add a pops of color to a monochromatic outfit. 💕
I always thought it looked weird. And who has the money to go out and buy matching colors for shoes to the bag with everything. But to each their own I do think it’s outdated styling tho.
@@missjoasia123it’s not about buying a matching set every time. Is about buying accessories in a theme so that theyre easy to match when getting dressed. It will never be dated, what will look dated is to have all sorts of colors accessories. Everyone will look back and see how silly they look and go back to the classic.

I’m 76 and I wear solid black high tops with 11:43 my jeans or casual pants. I no longer wear Capri pants because I think they are not that flattering. I do wear cropped pants just short enough to show my boots or high tops.

Excellent video! I agree with everything! And for the undies, yes, that's the type I have, and a tip is to get them slightly larger, so they don't cut into your skin, if they are slightly looser, the clothes will hold them and they are almost invisible :)

HEAVY ON THE VIBRANT, BOLD COLOUR! I went to two formal events in a Tommy Hilfiger, bright yellow dress and I received more compliments on that dress than I have ever received on any outfit in my life!
And the thing is that I already knew it was going to happen simply because it was yellow. Most people wear black, browns, white, maybe some blue. So I obviously had to go for brighter, cheerful, color.
And the best part is that the outfit stays in other people's memories, so they remember you more often than not. That's actually how I was able to make some nice network connections because the colour I wore was vibrant and turned out to be multiple people's fav color (So it kind of gave the outfit bonus points)

We have to stop basing fashion on age and more in a persons comfort level. I’m 48, almost 49 and I wear crop tops balanced with my high waisted jeans. I tend to carry my weight in my thigh area so I never wear shorts or short skirts. My waist and upper body are my most flattering parts on my body and I like to highlight my small waist and tiny arms. My legs will not see the light of day 😂🤷♀️

You mentioned being under dressed for an occasion. I live in a small town in Wisconsin and so many people dress casually even sloppy. Maybe if I lived in a bigger city where there were more business/career people it wouldn’t be so bad. But even if you are only running to the grocery store do you have to dress so sloppy? It makes me feel badly, like people don’t have self respect or self confidence.

I have a Neverfull and an OnTheGo. They are perfect for work and travel. I did just have all of the vachetta replaced on my montsouris backpack. Looks brand new because it has the good vintage canvas.

Dear Shea, the Tackiest thing ever is saying an LV
LOOKS designer only when it is new and with clean vachette…Quite the opposite, actually! LV looks at its best and extremely elegant when the monogram is older looking and with darkened vachette. Otherwise it looks chavvy, fake and such a try hard, in my humble opinion. So do long, colorful claws for nails. In saying that, everyone should dress as they feel like to.

I always love everything about your videos! But I will say that those universal pants are not perfect for dressing up or down. The drawstring will ALWAYS make them look like athleisure therefore making them look cheaper and too casual and what makes it worse is tucking a nice blouse into them. Any pants with drawstring tie in the front automatically bring an outfit down and always makes an outfit look worse if it isn’t exercise wear.

When I used to go to an event and I wasn't sure exactly what the vibe was. A simple black or navy midi dress was my go-to while I always had an alternate pair of shoes, decorative scarf and an over layer in my car just incase I wanted to elevate the outfit or tone it down. That process came in very handy for one semi-formal wedding that flowed into a backyard BBQ and later became a late-night bonfire on the beach.

Yes yes yes!!! I’m so glad you said we don’t have to dress our age. I happen to like some of the styles out now. Although I’m in my 40’s I sometimes think is this to much, should I tone it down, so I do by maybe not wearing a super cropped top( which you look great in) but maybe my crop covers a little more but still looks stylish. Or wearing my skinny jeans or bodysuits. I feel like if you can wear it and have confidence then do it!!!❤❤
