      quick question. Planning to use the 1gzfe as a ratrod's engine. Can you please suggest what's a good Standalone ECU / engine management system that I can use for it?

      @@Tabletop-Newtype anything good for a 6 cylinder really (double up for injection and ignition), as always, Haltech if possible (decide what one suits you best) in my humble opinion Haltech is the best bang for buck ECU on the market for both functionality and user friendly-ness.

      @@Tabletop-Newtype the haltech nexus would be perfect as it will do 12 cyl sequential injection/ ignition and dual E throttle. It’ll also run all of the body control items such as lights, wipers, fuel pumps, fans etc via the inbuilt PDM.

      Yea imagine if you owned it and had to pay a mechanic to do this job. Labor + parts would be pretty pricey haha and this is coming from a mechanic

      Reminds me of the 1JZ MCM did with Benny years ago. Fuel Filter was right up near the starter motor from memory. "Thanks Toyota."

      Having done the plugs in my ez30 liberty twice now, I’d rather do the job on the v12, atleast then with all the time you spend you know the cars completely freshened up, rather than 4 hours (I know, super slow), just for 6 spark plugs.

    I know the parts arent in Australia and you may already know about Amayama but you can get almost any part available in Japan from them

    Nice job, hard to work on rare old cars with lack of parts. I’m curious did any of those electronics clips break when you unplugged them? Haha 😆 all 1990’s cars the clips break as soon as you touch the engine bay normally

    Whenever you reuse hoses, and you have those deposits on them, get like 3 fist sized lemons, peel them, drop them in about ..eh ~2 liters of water boil them twice, and then put the hot water (not at 100c) in a container that can take the heat and fit those hoses, and drop the hoses in. Once the water is easy to handle, you can give them a rinse and the deposits should be gone (mostly for hardwater, but it does clean other types of crud too).

    I think fuel on your Junk is the worse pain. I accidentally got some on me one time filling the tank up on my motorcycle. I had to race home and stand in a Cold shower for 2 reasons. 1 to cool down my junk and 2 to mask the tears streaming out of my eyes. LOL!

      I think it's a bit holder for the sockets (they're Japanese ones. ¼" hex) Marty from MCM has talked about them before

    you can see why those plugs were never changed. that looks more of a mission than my sport bike . (radiator out airbox out) they would have put iridium in from factory tho because of difficulty

    Anybody have any real world experience on the fuel mileage of these things? Is it the equivalent of driving a V8 half ton?

      I’m getting 12-13 litres per 100 km now so it’s about the same as my falcon.

    I lived in Japan for a while and used to see cars similar to that one cruising around all the time. They looked really cool.
    I think they were 6 or 8 cyl models though.

    Hi just brought a 1997 with 65k km but I'm a nervous reck while driving it as there is no information on the v12s reliability. I love it but can't afford it if it brakes down. How reliable is the v12 or should I just park it up

    More people should watch this video so they know what they're getting themselves into when they are influenced by all these other videos titled "the best luxury car for 20k", etc., etc. You have to get parts for it and maintain it. That's something Doug Demuro never talks about when he reviews these "great buys". I'm sure the Century is a great car but all cars needs maintenance.

      These came in white in S2. They’re all normally bland darker colours so it’s nice to be a little different.

    Fairly basic service on that engine looks a fright! I still wonder why they spent all the money to create a V 10 when they already had hits V 12. And bless Tristan's pointy head, he's on the right track putting one of these beasts in a Supra!

      That thing looks cool but I wonder how stiff it really is? I would think the round tubes of a more traditional strut bar would be better, but it does look cool as hell and it could be customized with some sweet engravings.

    These cars have massive electrical issues regarding the batteries, alternators and jump starting. A potential nightmare to deal with even tho its a Toyota.

    Benny I love the show but the music is crap please fix it. Also personally I think you are at your best when you are working with other people e.g Mighty car mods crew or Scotty from Haltech. If you had guest appearances or a colleague on the channel I think it would be better. Keep up the good work
