Hello. I have been watching a couple months now. The stories you’ve shared have touched me as a Christian. Your attitudes and goals in these videos are so pure and kind. I admire Sam’s tenderness. I seriously adore him and can only imagine the internal battles of his life and finding a good wife like you is probably an idea he never could’ve idealized. You guys keep doing what you’re doing. God bless your family

Brave lady. In any Church religion secrecy and just moving on abusers to different locations never works. These religions should be forced to report to the police. In the Catholic religion the Mormon Religion the Evangelical etc those in power should be held accountable for hiding these abusers. Cc

This lady is describing the way that my husband and I were raised. Both of our dads were pastors. They were associated with the Free Will Baptist. I had to wear dresses or skirts, even in school physical education classes I had to wear a long denim skirt and I was made so much fun of. Once I got to high school I had my neighbor bring me some gym shorts and she would take them home with her and wash them. There were some churches that were stricter than others. We could wear a little jewelry like one ring or a simple necklace. Having your ears pierced would send you straight to hell. No make up. Some of the strictest churches women couldn’t even wear any type of bow in their hair, couldn’t even roll their hair and using hair spray was a sin. I could go on and on. There’s still some of these churches that are still living like that now. Also a TV was called a one eyed monster. My husband and I got married on a Friday and went the first thing Saturday morning and bought a TV…lol. Later we started going back to church and went back to living that strict. However when our daughter started school and she was such a tomboy, I talked to my husband about letting her wear pants to school because she definitely wasn’t modest in a dress when she was standing on her head in a school play 😂😂
We started studying the Bible and realized that we were following Man’s traditions and there wasn’t any Bible to support that belief. I could go on and on about these churches, but I was raised thinking God was sitting up there waiting to zap me straight to hell if I even had a wrong thought. I’m so thankful that He is a God of love.

While that is sad, and what you outlined is based on legalism. And is a far stretch to compare to the sexual abuse she is speaking of. How do I know, I was raised FW Baptist.

    • @LuLuDavis65
      @LuLuDavis65 3 дні тому +7

@ I in no way was comparing it to the SA that she was describing, I was talking about the other parts, which as the years have passed and I’ve kept up with a lot of friends that I was raised in church with, and several girls unfortunately did suffer SA from preachers, deacons and other church leaders. The way my husband and I were raised was very different than the other Free Will Baptists in our area. I made the statement years ago when we starting coming out from under such dictation that it felt like we were trying to leave a cult, and this was in the early 90’s.

Thank you Sheri for this story! So courageous! This poor woman has been through so much! Praying for continued healing over her life❤🙏🙏🙏
I was born into this very secretive sect!! I thought I was God’s chosen child within a very legalistic system. I was always confused, lonely and depressed. But never held it to the fact I was in a cult. I was in complete ignorance. It took me till I was 30 and in the pandemic to come out completely of the deception. I had a moment in my room where I felt like I couldn’t handle life anymore. I was frantic and crying and something was blocking me from even praying. So I yelled “God I need you to clear my mind, I can’t take this anymore!” And in that moment my mind was crystal clear. I was shocked but felt immediately inclined to pray repenting and asking God to help me. A flooding of peace came over me and all the demons attacking me and were over my life felt like they had been banished!! In that moment I knew I hadn’t known God, but now I DID! After that, God cleaned up my life of sin, helped me see that I was in fact in a cult, and showed me that Jesus Christ was indeed God and that he died once and for all sin and all I needed to do was place my full trust in him! Praise God! I got baptized not long after and my life has been far from perfect but I have JESUS my PERFECT PEACE!!!🤍🕊️🙏

While Sheri has been out for years there are also numerous people who have left in the last two years who have more recent connection to current events, like the person above who said there are overseers and super overseers. Many of us who have left call them uberseers. There are a handful around the world who are over a country or a part of a country (like east and west in the USA). And they are over overseers of smaller areas. It is a very corrupt system from the time they adopted the Living Witness doctrine and Exclusivity. You should see if you can get Cheri Kropp-Ehrig to do an interview. She wrote "Preserving the Truth" which came out around the same time as Bruergate and was very influential in our decision to leave after almost 68 years. Cheri's book was researched for 30 years and she has source documents and first person interviews to back up everything she reveals in that book. You should get yourself a copy 😅f you haven't. I remember one of the original "workers" turned Eastern US overseer from my childhood (grew up in PA where he had his "headquarters). Learning about his knowledge of the founder and involvement in wresting the power from him and hiding the founder (lying by omission) was a huge influence on our decision to leave, along with the CSA. And some of the beliefs like denying the Trinity, not teaching the doctrine of grace and denying the deity of Christ are in total opposition to mainstream Christianity. However, numbers are dwindling, workers are leaving, fields are getting larger and meetings are getting smaller. There were a couple of mass exoduses in the past, in certain areas, whereas right now it's worldwide as people are realizing what they are in is not of God. And then there are the ones who cling to the system and refuse to become informed. The indoctrination is insidious and real. Thanks for making this info available through your interviews.

Regarding the organization: overseers are very much in contact with the intent to have uniformity across the world, although the uniformity is not always accomplished. They have secret overseers meetings regularly. They fly all over the world taking part in various yearly conventions where they meet and discuss policy and doctrine. An overseer has control over a section of a large country (a state or several states) or maybe a small country like Switzerland. In addition to numerous overseers around the world there are several super overseers which oversee continents or larger parts of the world. Elders are subject to the local field workers. Field workers are subject to their overseer. Overseers are subject to the super overseer. It is a very controlled top down structure. Unfortunately many presenters of various news casts and pod cast are not aware of this.

Hello, born n raised 4th generation ex 2x2 here. The answer to your question is the workers (ministry) and the friends (members) believe that if you are praying earnestly to be shown the “real truth of god” you will come across a professing friend or worker and they will invite you to a gospel mtg (held in a public building usually but sometimes also in a members home) held by the local workers in your area. There is no recruitment program -the friends and workers are just supposed stand out as a “peculiar people” and as such will be asked questions about their religious beliefs and why women wear skirts, or don’t cut/dye their hair, or don’t wear any jewelry besides a wedding ring, etc etc. Workers are also celibate ministers, travel in same sex pairs, and will only be allowed to get married if they leave “the work” ie. the ministry.

They occasionally try to add new people via marriage or by isolating and love bombing vulnerable (often impoverished) people. But usually they just try to keep their current members from ever leaving. My great grandfather was targeted and recruited while in active addiction and his son and granddaughter were super loyal to the cult and went on to attempt recruiting multiple local families. Luckily all attempts failed.

@@ursulaking4411 It is a conundrum for sure. I am 4th generation, and we left a year ago. But, the brainwashing is very effective, when people are made to believe that if they leave this "way", they will go to hell. They are threatened to keep secrets quiet or they will be excommunicated, thus being cast to eternal damnation. After watching and hearing the lies they are telling about people who have been removed and those of us who have left because we are seeing what's really been going on since the inception of this religion, and it has caused some to have one leg out the door, but they are too terrified to take the final leap! Just a few of the crimes that I know about: stealing people's homes from them, to having people falsely incarcerated to keep them away, to abusing people in every way one can think of. Children have not just been sexually assaulted, many were also tortured at the same time and then threatened with silence "because we know where you live" (well, no duh! You were staying IN their home and snuck into their bedroom to do your nasty deeds after mom and dad were asleep) so the children were terrified, because they would come back and if they told it would be their fault that their mommy and daddy were going to hell, so we've had some commit suicide, and that's been lied about too to cover up what's honestly been going on. Absolutely one of the sickest religions on the face of the earth!!

Strangely Sherry seems to have forgotten Gospel meetings which are public meetings held constantly by workers for nonmembers as well as members with the intent to bring in new members. There is a constant desire to bring in new members. Unfortunately in recent years there is not much interest by nonmembers. One of the reasons it’s so widespread all over the world is because of intense evangelism all over the world, including communist countries. I’m surprised your guest does not understand this. But since the outreach is by local gospel meetings and not by other media the publicity is muted.

Gospel meetings have not been held constantly in any area where I have lived (both AL and TX). The workers are in preps for their own conventions or gone to other states for special meetings or on special meeting rounds in their own state for most of the year. Again, this has just been my experience. I am sure it might be different in other areas of the country. Also, we have been told that Taylor Wood told the overseers years ago to just focus on keeping the ones inside inside instead of focusing on finding the lost sheep.

I'd never heard of the cult 2x2, however I have heard of The Way. My mother (born in 1914) became a very loyal follow the cult by Elizabeth Claire prophet, Church universal and triumphant. In the early 80's she moved with the core group of the cult to Emigrant MT. It was a very scary time for our family while they were building underground bunkers, purchasing illegal guns, and brainwashing their members to believe that the coast of California was going to fall into the ocean. When most of that balanced out, for my mom it was a great place to live and she was very happy. None of the rest of the family ever became a part of the cult nor did we believe any of its nonsense. The members that lived around my mom in Montana were such lovely people. Unfortunately like most colds it does pull in the haggard, forgotten and lost souls out there. I was raised in this church. Both my grandparents were workers until they married. Both both sets of my grandparents and my parents were in the truth. I had a wonderful childhood and my sister, and I often remarked that our happiest times were at convention and gospel meetings. I didn’t have any of the experience experiences that this speaker had. In fact, I am named after two workers. We always called it the truth. I had never heard 2 x 2 except in the scripture. I trusted the workers who came to convention. They were always some of the most precious people I’ve ever met. I’m sorry this guest speaker had the experience is that she had in the truth. Those certainly were not mine and were not those others that I know in this area.

just would like to point out, Jesus said I am the way, the truth and the life..... I'm not sure how any one or any group can refer to themselves as "the truth". This a name that Jesus referred to himself as.

Abuse, cover-up, lies, financial crimes, etc.
Those things do not align with my core values. I was led to separate from such evil.
