The only reason I can think of that he doesn't mention using the "Fixed Length" setting in the Push 2 (so you DON'T have to remember to hit stop or manually set the length of a clip) is because this is more about Ableton and not the Push. Awesome content man! This stuff has been super helpful for getting started.

Nice one! I want to loop record multiple instruments without having to push anything. Like comping but I'm not sure if Take Lanes can be dragged to new tracks. Thanks
Ableton Live (without a Push2 or external controller) if you hit ENTER instead of SPACE after recording, it should happily record until the end of the phrase and then loop. This length is set in the Launch Quant setting he discusses.
By the way, this setting is NOT the same as “fixed length” button on the Push:
- Fixed Length: Record X bars, then repeat
- Launch Quant: Record until button is pressed. Then continue recording until a multiple of X. Then loop.
So for a setting of “4 bars”
Fixed length will record 4 bars.
Launch quant will record 4, 8, 12, 16, etc.

I've looked at 6 different tutorials and can't figure out how to get a live audio recording through my mic to loop at 2 bars, and repeat and then layer.
Ableton’s looper device is better suited to overdubbing audio
Isn't there a foot contoller that works seemlessly with Ableton. Having to press records/stop on the same keyboard that I play my parts is a bit clunky when a foot controller seems obvious. Nobody ever talks about foot controlling in Ableton live perfromance. Any thoughts? (thanks for the video BTW, very informative)

How do you use both the Akai and the Push 2? Mind boggled
Is this better than using the looper? I don’t really get why they have to looper affect.
My guess is the looper is more for live instruments where as this is more for midi controller sounds, but I could be wrong.
@@Yousefs_world This is one of my biggest questions with regard to Ableton. I just learned that with clips audio overdubbing is not possible.
