I think after watching this Karen Brown is totally out on my vote.I am a registered Dem and She came across to me as very weak and said um to much.Um to me is not knowing and trying to calculate the question. Mrs Brown also seems to be ok with the large development and housing at depot plaza which me and my neighbors fought .It seems to me that if elected she will bring back the Station area survey and bring it to life. The thing that really made all our minds up is when she was on the debate with an open voice and is laughing like a hyena. Then Mrs Brown who wants to lead the Board and be for the people makes a snarky comment about watching her fellow teammates and others running for Trustee and says does she have to watch them. Well that summed it up.A person who is running to be a leader who is not a team player and thinks its a joke? Hopefully the laugh will be on her.
Karen was instrumental in demoting Dr Stanley Friedlander after 48!years of service & she only changed her position on the SAO when she saw it would cost her votes. Doug Zollo will get my vote
I have a hard time with the contradictions of the candidates views on large developments. So 80 units on the waterfront is not ok but 119 units in the middle of town is? The building will loom over the downtown area. the small village feel will be gone forever and there is no going back. Plus the ymca building isn't going to pay taxes for 50 years in exchange for about 50 parking spaces. The reality is that taxpayers will be paying for those spaces plus all other services for the building. If taxes were lower (and didn't have to support developers) seniors could stay in their homes and not move into a box inside of a very large box that promotes loneliness. Instead they could step outside their front doors and interact directly with the community. in the past Tarrytown also catered to developers during the condo town house crazy that ate up all the natural green spaces. The developers were given a tax break so that they could sell their units at a higher price. Thanks for that. We don't need growth but sustainability.
Thank you for acknowleding the Spanish speaking population and providing the translation. Great job
