Everyone knows that no photos, videos, audio or any other form of unauthorized recordings are illegal. They should prosecute her for this and follow up by updating the privacy law to have posted placards to all staff, patients and all other visitors to not to make any media of the sort stated above without permission by the hospital with exception of family photos of sentimental value.
Most hospitals have social media use policies along those lines. You can bet the staff there will probably get extra training on privacy and social media usage.

My son was born with the same thing in 2001. Gastroschisis is very serious. My son was in the hospital for 3 month fighting for his life. This was one of the scariest things ive ever delt with. Praise be to the most high that my son is 20 now and perfectly healthy but to think back on when id have to go home (3 hrs away) every night not knowing if he would still be there when the nicu opened back up in the morning was hell on earth. This woman no girl should never be allowed to work in health care again not to mention pay a fine for violating HIPPA laws. I hope this family sues her. How would she feel if this baby ends up not making it? What a poor excuse for a human. We wont even talk about how the hell she is a nurse and lacks simple grammar skills. No it's not. I've been a nurse 22 years. I'm licensed in 6 states and I'm completely unencumbered. I've never even been investigated. I'm STILL working as nurse today in pediatric home health. I'm getting ready to get my 2nd bachelor's to work my way up to nurse practitioner. I've had to say something to nurses OF ALL RACES about hippa violations but certain nurses who violate hippa get verbally reprimanded and it goes away. Some nurses are just stupid but the media highlights some more than others giving society a false sense of security in saying they only want a certain demographic of nurse.

In the US the government can't tell you what to do with your medical information, but they can and have told medical personnel what they can and can't do with other people's medical information. It is nothing like sharing your photos of your dinner or making a shopping vlog. I really don't understand how you can conflate sharing your own personal information and doing what this woman did. No it's not. I've been a nurse 22 years. I'm licensed in 6 states and I'm completely unencumbered. I've never even been investigated. I'm STILL working as nurse today in pediatric home health. I'm getting ready to get my 2nd bachelor's to work my way up to nurse practitioner. I've had to say something to nurses OF ALL RACES about hippa violations but certain nurses who violate hippa get verbally reprimanded and it goes away. Some nurses are just stupid but the media highlights some more than others giving society a false sense of security in saying they only want a certain demographic of nurse.
