NICU Nurse Sandy Content On Having The 'Greatest Job' In The World, Even On The Bad Days | TODAY
I had to come back to this video to say I saw this 4 years ago and now I graduate nursing school and started my dream job as a new grad RN in the NICU!! Don’t give up on your dreams. My first month in the NICU has been amazing 💗💗
wow amazing!! i hope this is me one day.
I’m scared that I’m not smart enough :/
I pray everyday to have this job one day. If its the Lords will let it be done.
Make it happen!😊
Amen
Is it really competitive for nurses to get to work in the nicu?
Heal-Thy Life kind of. I think you need to have at least one year of experience first
? It's your will. The Lord doesn't establish references and send your resume. Stop pinning everything as God's job, have some personal responsibility.
crying as I watch this... she loves every single one of these babies like they came out of her own body. shes doing Gods work
I want this job sooo bad
leelee kung it gets so hard ' seeing baby's withdraw and sometimes pass its hard job trust me I go home and cry hard at night .
whytho # I know it can have sad moments but I still really want this job
Me too i love babies
Same!! Also I love your profile picture❤️
WHAT!! I am born at 23 weeks. and I survived!!! that's crazy, make me cry because I'm not supposed to be alive. I want to be a neonatal nurse and I'm 15, I can't wait!!!!!!!💙💙💙
I am also 15 and was born prematurely with my twin sister. I have also recently discovered that I want to be a NICU nurse
I just turned 16 a short while ago, but I was wanting to be a nurse since I was 5, but soon discovered the nicu field with infants at 11 and wanted to be a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner for a while and then switched to ob/gyn bc I want to be a doctor, but I soon discovered I wanted to be a Doctor, but with the infants, not just pre/post birth, so I did some research and discovered Neonatology and am over thrilled bc this is the best of both worlds and I am so excited to finish out my next 2.5 years of highschool and work hard to get to that profession!
unknown 1 you got this honey ❤️❤️❤️ you CAN do All things THROUGH CHRIST who gives you strength
I was a 24 weeker I'm now 15
unknown 1 me too
It is the greatest job in the world and I'm proud to be a NICU nurse😘
Mimi Andreas . Do the neonatal Nurse Practitioner that work in the nicu get to like hold and feed the baby?
Ugoh GUGg yes. We are the primary care givers. So we do almost everything for the infant.
Leslie Rivera No it’s not the same. Nurse practitioners have to complete a masters program.
Do you get paid well?
But Np nurses have to put the tubes through the baby's nose & mouth?? That sounds painful & to see that.. i don't know if I could support that..id be crying
143 days my baby was in NICU . Less than 15% survival, we thought we would have to plan a funeral... instead we were blessed to plan his homecoming 5-9-18 . Forever grateful and in hopes to one day become a nurse myself .
This warmed my heart.
@Kimmy thats so kool !!! Happy early bday just around the corner ;)
My sister was in the NICU for 113 days and she’s so chunky now!
Well, I've taken the exams for the 2nd time now and still didn't succeed, i wonder how those who succeeded did it. 😭💔
Just say "I haven't passed yet." Don't
take it as a failure but see it as a learning opportunity. There is a lot of power in "Yet"; you are telling yourself that you will get there and that your eyes and heart are still fixed on your goal.
Me and my brothers(we are triplets)were born on week 28 or 27 I dont remember and we go visit our NICU nurses every year on our birthday💖💖💖
Katherine Ryan aww
i delivered my baby at 24 weeks but she didnt make it. she had anancephaly. i hope to see her in heaven one day
Dawn Meek Oh love I’m so sorry😢 and you will see your sweet baby girl in heaven🙏❤️
I have 3 waiting for me but I never knew what they were as I miscarried all very early.
Today the Lord has blessed me with my miracle baby. She is 8 months old🙂 I enjoy every second I have her. It’s really scary not knowing, doubting and feeling guilt.. just so many emotions.
Don’t give up🙏 I hope you are doing well. God Bless
Dawn Meek I'm so sore to hear that may the Lord bring your heart peace. God bless
I can relate.... 😢 I’m so sorry for your loss! My first daughter baby girl was born at 23 weeks and 5/7 day after my placenta erupted and she was breech and I wasn’t fully dilated and my doctor ripped her out of me causing me to hemorage and broke her neck......😢 she is in Heaven with Jesus and I can’t wait till I get to see her!!!!! 💫♥️
❤️❤️❤️
God bless you, May she watch over you always
She has the touch of an Angel! Cant Thank her enough for sharing her gift with these other babies and parents! It takes a big heart! Can’t imagine how hard that job is!
Why the thumbs down? I really don't understand it.
I'm also a NICU nurse for almost 3yrs..it's one of the most fulfilling jobs I had.

@@fatmarashid3231I hope your little one came through everything good? ❣️Hugs.
I wana work in NICU. I'm just scared of the not so happy endings. I love babies so much IDK if my heart would be able to handle it. Any advise from an active or former NICU nurse???
I'm not going to sugar coat it, there are days that are a struggle, but you can't go into a job like this and think negatively you must think of all the good and positive outcomes!
NICU nurses are angels on earth. What an extraordinary group of men and women who care for sick babies. God Bless You All!
I remember when my daughter was 9 days old rushed to Temple University Hospital due to laryngomalacia. The NICU nurses treated my baby as if she was an angel. Their care for her was outstanding. I will never forget their kindness, their reassurance, and even their care for me as a new mom that had a c-section. God bless all the caring nurses in the world, you guys make a difference!!!
I’m currently 18 weeks pregnant and this makes me emotional. Thank you so much for taking care of the babies like they’re yours. ❤️
Beautiful my daughter was born at 24 weeks she was in the NICU for 4 months I have full respect for the team truly sent from god😇🙏🏽🥰
I can't wait, this melted my heart. I start my pre nursing classes in January. Within a couple years I hope I start my nursing school and become an RN. I love babies, they are so pure and beautiful. I have not been religious in the longest time but this might break me. I must start praying and manifesting blessings. 💖
Bless her! I even had one tear running down my cheek 😭😭
When my brother was in the NICU he had THE best set of doctors and nurses. I believe anyone who works these positions I thank God for them everyday
I was born at 24 weeks weighing 1 pound 6 oz, having 2 brain bleeds and doctors saying it would be a miracle if I survived the night, I survived the night but stayed 8 months at the hospital and my mom couldn't hold me till I was 3 weeks old I am thankful to be alive today at 15 ❤️️
How beautiful of a privilege it is to nourish and cradle life as they are so fragile coming into the world. She's such a miracle worker to these babies.❤
Your an angel God blessed you whit your talent my heart goes out to you 😗and your girls are beautiful
This makes me cry. This is the job for me.
If it wasn't for my main nurse I wouldn't have stayed so strong ❤️ they take care of your babies when you can't be there
omg this brings back so much memories, sad, scary, worry and happiness at the same time. my daughter was born at 30 weeks and spent 6 weeks in NICU. she weighed 1.079kg and i didnt think she would make it, thanks to God allmighty and the staff at NICU she is well and healthy
My daughter was born May 14th 2018 at PSL/RMCH in Denver at 28 weeks. She spent 61 days in the NICU and it was the hardest experience I’ve ever gone through. If it wasn’t for the nurses not only caring for my child but for me idk what I would have done. It has really inspired me to work towards becoming a NICU nurse!
I've been a NICU nurse for over 10 years and sometimes the days are really physically and mentally challenging as far as stress but I always think I have the best job in the world. I have sent home two babies that were born at 23 weeks. It was such a joy to see them to home.
What a WONDERFUL nurse. God MEANT for her to be a NICU nurse!
When I grow up I want to become a neonatal nurse. Because when I was born I was 23 weeks. And I had to go to ICU. And on heart monitor and on oxygen and I almost died. But now I'm 15 and a healthy person. Hopefully I can become a neonatal nurse so I can help babies. ❤️
Thank you so much for everything you do Nurse Sandy!!! It takes real strength and commitment to get that job and you provide help to so many. So glad our world has you!
What an amazing woman! I pray everyone is this passionate about their job! 💛
You are so generous and warm. You have a big strong heart to be able to do this.

God bless u and your family. My daughter is a peds nurse and I am so proud of her. Thank you for everything u do. 😘
What an amazing lady! Sometimes it takes a personal experience to find out what ur meant to do, I’m a CNA and it was my own struggle with an illness that helped me find my calling, it’s incredible how being sick for 3 years made me realize I want to help others
Man ... this gets to me ... my daughter was in the NICU & that is one of the hardest things I've ever been thru .. but its nurses like her that got me thru it & of course God .. God bless her & all the nurses .

May God bless all NICU nurses. You truly have the most important job in the world.
She is amazing.
I am so GRATEFUL for NICU NURSES and staff. My little one was in the NICU for 56 days and was diagnosed with Pierre Robin Syndrome. I was so overwhelmed with emotions during his stay in the NICU but so blessed to have had such passionate NICU nurses that truly care for the well-being of my son. These NICU NURSES are ROCKSTARS. My little one is now going to be one on the 27th and I am so blessed to see his progress. So to all the NICU NURSES I just want to thank you for all you do you guys are AMAZING!!!!!!

Im crying so hard😭
What a beautiful woman.
I had my baby at that same hospital! GREATEST NURSES AND STAFF IN THE WORLD!!! I am now in Nursing school, and these staff made me want to go into Neonatal Nursing
I want this job but people tell me it is boring but i was born a premature child and it makes me so emotional seeing this. However, I feel like i can be an example to mothers and families that their babies can make it outside of a hospital.
What do you guys think?
Rachel Osei
Go for it!! everyone has a calling. God bless miracle child
Rachel Osei it can be a little quiet at times. The NICU is such a unique environment because of the way stimuli are controlled. It’s like a giant womb for the baby. You’re caring for the most vulnerable patients and it takes great care to make sure everything is done right, like IVs, their little NG tubes, their meds, and so on.
Do what you want if you feel it's the right job for you try it out it probably is everything happens for a reason everyone is different!
Rachel Osei If you are good in school, start taking classes to get to your goal. Get a job now at a hospital so that when you graduate, you will be hired at that institution. One step at a time, but when you get that RN license, you can have an amazing career with hundreds of specialties to choose from. If you find you don’t care for NICU, then try ER, Operating Room, CCU, Hospice, etc etc. You will not get bored.
Rachel Osei do it!
Bless you for taking care of these precious babies!!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
I was born at 21 weeks :) 1 pound 7 ounces March 1st on a Friday 1996! I have 2 beautiful babies myself 😊
Sandy, you are wonderful.😚❤
Watching this in nursing school as my motivation
This is an amazing job 💯
I really want this job when I'm older and this has just made me want to do it even more if I keep pushing I will be able to be there one day x
beautiful story ❤️
My son was born very early and went straight to the NICU. It was the most stressful feeling but I had God and the most amazing nurses and my baby boy left happy and healthy! I knew from that moment, I was called to work as a NICU nurse. In school now with about 2 years left!
Awww I. Want to be this when I grow up 🥺🥺
I love her!
