There's two sides to this of course. Because there's a need for more nurses in general, and if one of them goes off to play doctor, it reduces the manpower for actual nursing.
i was saved by a nurse in an ICU. my respirator was clogged with mucus and i could no longer breath. The doctor coukd not understand as the machine is working well but the nurse found it. i have so much respect and thankful for them.
Thanks for acknowledging the nursing profession. Unlike some "physician" 's elitist bitter comment here whinging how they should forever be superior and no one else must be allowed in their ivory tower.
I'm an APN in the United States, and it warms my heart to see this spotlight on our profession, especially in another country. Let me help summarize and expand it a little further. So, an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) is a highly trained and specialized nurse who provides comprehensive care in various healthcare settings. APNs can include nurse practitioners (NPs), clinical nurse specialists (CNSs), nurse anesthetists (CRNAs), and nurse midwives (CNMs). APNs perform advanced assessments, diagnose and treat medical conditions, prescribe medications, and develop treatment plans. APNs often work independently or in collaboration with other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. They also play a significant role in patient education, health promotion, and disease prevention. Additionally, APNs may contribute to research, policy development, and healthcare leadership....all well demonstrated by Faith, she is a role model!
Her rank is above that of a Registered Nurse, which is itself very high ranking. In the US, due to having areas where doctors are not readily available due to it being a rural area or otherwise, they are permitted to serve as doctors for certain States. 24 out of the 50 States. But of course, they are still a rank below a full doctor, even though they can prescibe medications and see patients and open their own clinics
@@John_Smith_86 ¿ they are still a rank below a full doctor,? . Thanks for show that you dont know anything about health sciences. First stop trying to compare medicine with nursing. Two totally dif. disciplines
Except nurses already do get recognition. There are more healthcare workers than just nurses and doctors that don't get any recognition at all. Pharmacist, radiologists, physical therapist, respiratory therapist, medical lab techs, environmental services workers, CNAs, etc. Healthcare is not one sided.
How u know she really is? And not doing it cuz she has too. And not scripted... Better to get real answers in how they really feel.. And the bad as well... U be a fool and naive to believe
Nursing is such an honorable profession, and it's really admirable that Faith decided to follow this path after her childhood experience. I'm glad that her parents understand her goals and support her now.
What an amazing young lady. Would love to have her as my nurse if I have to go to a hospital. Seems very personable and easy to talk to. She is extremely passionate about her career as well as helping her patients.
Must have more well trained nursing staff like her. She is friendly, caring, compassionate, etc. She can do better than some of the junior doctors. I had a recent, not so good encounter with a young male junior doctor, snob attitude. I found that the ward nurses were hard-working, attentive, experienced, and friendly.

A nurse saved my son’s life . She told a v humble doctor who listened to her advice as she had been observing my son . Thank u so much

I love Faith what a testament to our profession of nursing. Nurses are the eyes, ears and hearts of healthcare. Faith seems like she was born to be a nurse I’m glad she found her calling and is excelling! So happy she is helping to shape newer nurses!
I have the deepest respect for nurses - be it a junior nurse or APN. My dad was hospitalized a few years ago and though he insisted that I buy a cake for the nurses for their care and concern. Thank you nurses for your service to the nation.
It made me come into tears. Im an - almost- PhD nurse in Brasil. Being a nurse here is a challenge, and it made me realize how a nurse needs to prove to self and others - family and equip colleagues - how Nursing is a honorable, valuable and necessary profession. Here, salaries are low, devaluation comes from all the sides I mentioned, education is increasingly heading towards very bad places. Anyway, Faith's story and seeing what her role really means to her made me reflect a lot on professional issues that I have been facing lately. Mainly thinking about giving up my career. Thank you Faith and I hope you keep going! the world really needs nurses like you.
I love that she was an experienced nurse before going in advanced practice. This should be a requirement in the US. Here nurses can go straight from nursing school into an online nursing program and then treat patients with nearly equal autonomy as a doctor
As an ICU nurse, I love working with someone like her - her passion, dedication to work, and collaboration with her colleagues, patients, and families are outstanding! She shares her knowledge so everyone grows. I am currently pursuing my master's degree to be a nurse practitioner and I also love my job like her.

Asian Nurses are the best with combined technical competence and compassionate. This, especialy the Filipino, Indonesian and Singaporean Nurses. Generally, they only stood 4.5" to 5.3" in height but they tower when at work. Everybody listens whether you're an Intern, Resident, or Speciaists Doctors, otherwise you will be reprimand straight from her feisty mouth, while in just mere seconds turn into the sweetest person when facing their Patients. Thank you Nurses. ♥️

Viewing this video reminds me of my dad’s journey with SKH last year. Salute all nurses for their patience and endless TLC for all patients including my dad. You all are really angels and it does take a lot to be caring throughout being a nurse which us, as a normal people can’t. Thank you for being a nurse. ❤

This is a great clip. Very interesting and moving. She’s so inspirational. A few ‘cute’ takeaways: there are good days and there are bad days but we make time to eat; we brag about her being top student as all proud parents do. 😂 thank you, healthcare workers especially those with such great dedication and warm hearts to serve like Faith who is featured here. ❤
Thank you to all nurses and medical personnel out there. It’s a noble career. Requiring lots of hard work, passion, love. It’s not an easy job. But do know that we do appreciate you all!
I love the way she talks to her patienf who is on a tube and ventilated. The interaction was so touching. She asked questions to the patient who has no voice to talk back, but she made it clear that her patient understood her question. Amazingly the patient responded in a non-verbal way that she was able to understand, abd she further explained to her patient, ans I can see patient who was voiceless was reassured of her explanation and care provided. The eye contact and touch were superb tho. I am a nurse ibmn a day surgery suite. Most of our patients are well and in good shape. We do simple surgeries and make sure patients will be able to go home before the day ends. Most of our interactions with patients last for 4-6 hlurs including their surgery time. But, definitely, the care and assurance given to our patients are pretty much the same. Vut I could say, her medical knowledge and her passion towards her profession are somethings that give younger nurses a whole lot of inspiration.
What a fantastic lady faith is the world needs more like her , such a compassionate and caring person if we should find ourselves in need of medical help please let faith be there
I love the way Faith so beautifully described what healthcare/nursing is and even more importantly, that she embodies it as well. Keep up the amazing work, Faith!!
We need more trained nurses like Faith, oftentimes, a lot of colleagues in the medical-surgical ward are burnout and patient centred care is no longer being prioritised due to patient nurse ratio.i left the ward as it is affecting my mental and health condition. What I see here is a passionate caring advanced practitioner nurse who diligently aspire next gen nurses. I would've loved working with her side by side. She's very sweet, nice and very nice to work with. I wish to aspire to be that kind of nurse. ❤

This is very inspirational. I recently started thinking about how I really want to become a nurse who has advanced knowledge and skills on top of being compassion to our patients. Thank you, I’ll come back to this video again when I feel lost or exhausted on my journey!
1:04 All nurses have to listen to lung sounds, to those of you who don't know. Nurse needs to know if there is rhonhi sound meaning there is fluid in the lungs, example pneumonia. If there is wheezing sound or not.l, example asthma. If so they give breathing treatment that the doctor ordered for the patient, etc if nurse doesn't these assessments, disaster may be waiting to catch that nurse off guard and it will be a bad bad bad day. So much more..
Faith, you're such an amazing nurse, so do other nurses as well. It's not an easy job but for all the passion you have, you make the world a better place for those who're sick. Salute!
It's a long long time coming in Singapore. Not so many years ago, Nurses were classified as 'blue-collared' low-skill workers but thankfully that was addressed & corrected. But the Nursing Profession here (& most of Asia) I believe still does not get the recognition it deserves, neither do most patients + caregivers realise that nursing care is as very important part of the medical treatment process & outcome. I salute all nurses & happy to see the advancement of the profession in this direction (btw APNs have been established in the Western world for way longer).
thanks for showing us the value of our work us nurses...we are unsung heroes at times but our main goal is to care and make patients better...all the best, take care

I’m at the stage of preping to study medicine at my last year in bachelor, and I don’t know why seeing this talented woman’s sharing her experience working at the health industry makes me want to tear up. Such an amazing and inspiring story
Faith, what an amazing name for a nurse. Kudos to what you are doing. A million salutes to your work.
All the healthcare workers deserve our respect .
I am truly impressed with your dedication and commitment to the nursing profession! Your patients and colleagues are very fortunate to have you. Thank you very much for elevating the stature of nurses. Kudos!

Her mum's unwavering support and concern ❤
Viewing this video reminds me of my dad’s journey with SKH last year. Salute all nurses for their patience and endless TLC for all patients including my dad. You all are really angels and it does take a lot to be caring throughout being a nurse which us, as a normal people can’t. Thank you for being a nurse. ❤
it is really heartening and encouraging to learn that our own local CNA is able to produce such high quality documentaries to showcase the shift in mindsets of its people. As more of the population becoming more and more education - it is necessary to recognize that there are specialisation is each and every professional career track. Please keep up the good work, CNA - our neighbours around the regions are looking at how we're going to handle certain issue within our society. Let's be a role model for the rest of ASEANs.
Excellent sharing on the role of an APN! Thank you Faith and many in the nursing teams looking after our patients!
I have always great respect for Nurses in the Singapore Hospitals that I have got treatment from . Caring, dedicated and hard working individuals.
What an inspirational nurse you are, Faith. You are a phenomenal woman.
Thank you to all nurses and medical personnel out there. It’s a noble career. Requiring lots of hard work, passion, love.
It’s not an easy job. But do know that we do appreciate you all!
Is the respect and care she has for her jobs and her patients that makes her exceptional
Thank you Faith for you dedication to your job and patients as well as being a mentor to your other nurse colleagues.
What a fantastic lady faith is the world needs more like her , such a compassionate and caring person if we should find ourselves in need of medical help please let faith be there
A genuine person with passion for her job showing through...
Faith is full of compassionate. Her aura is so much positive. Best wishes for the healthy & successful APN job.
Im a doctor and thank you for being an inspiration Ms. Faith! You reminded of why I wanted to be in the health profession.
I have always found it so refreshing and inspiring when I see people who truly love their job. Thank you for your service, Faye!!
ICU nurses are amazing! I’ve been in the ICU several times, and they have all been absolutely wonderful.
Tan Tock Seng's Florence Nightingale.
She is such a care loving nurse .very proud of her well respect.
Thank you cna insider and thank you Faith Hwang, for your dedication commitment and compassion towards Nursing Profession 💖
Thank you Faith..and everyone in medical field..

" Thank you for all the little things that you do for me, and they may be small little actions, but they speak a lot." ❤️

Pure dedication to her craft ❤ great job faith and thank you for your service!
May God Bless the nurses in their journey of Love. Faith carry on your good work.
This is very inspirational. I recently started thinking about how I really want to become a nurse who has advanced knowledge and skills on top of being compassion to our patients. Thank you, I’ll come back to this video again when I feel lost or exhausted on my journey!
Blessed to have supportive family in this line of work. Not easy doing it alone without anyone behind u
"I am going to save the world" SO CUTE! Thank you for everything we appreciate you and your work ethic!
What a trailbrazer!!
Proud of you, Faith...
salute to all ICU nurses, they care the most challenging patients in the hospital
Salute!
Thank you to all the amazing doctors and nurses at Tan Tock Seng Hospital!❤
Iam studying to be a CNA iam from Mexico is really hard because is in English but I really want to help anywhere around the world. She inspires me more then I already was, thank you for this video is really inspiring.wish me luck

Nurses do such honorable work in the hospital. I could never imagine myself doing anything like that, I would definitely quit on the first day 😂. Thank you for doing what you do and caring for patients, one at a time.
She’s the kind of nurse you would wish to have when you’re in a hospital 🩷
Aussie RM here. God bless you. You probably could have been a Dr. You are a blessing to everyone.
I have nothing but admiration for Faith’s courage and determination to better herself in nursing so she can better take great care of her patients while sharing knowledge and expertise to her peers. Her name is a true meaning of FAITH! ❤️❤️❤️👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
