My goodness Jane, your voice, female Morgan Freeman!! You should do books and docs with it! U would make so much $ for your property and probably never leave! Lovely. U2 r putting the rest of us to shame! 2 machines! I liked, "gentle stages". 😊🥰
It's sooo much better than having to shuttle to the laundrette, Jan. Even though we can't start the 'big build' yet, there's still plenty to keep us busy here, and every tiny step helps😎🇵🇹
Hola from Spain. Jane, i was as excited as you to do the washing. Ive been there !!!! and a washing machine will always be top of my list. Another lovely video, look forward to next week. Love to you both ❤
Hola Patricia. The washing machine has been a huge step towards civilised living. So much better than having to shuttle to and fro to the laundrette! Thanks for your continued support of the channel, and hope you have a great week 😎🇵🇹
Hi … is that a French drain you will have on the outside of your property.. having a local plumber is like gold dust!! love watching your progress.. slowly but surely.. some ex pats come in and just paint.. and forget you need the infrastructure to make it work.. takes a lot of time and energy … a sticking plaster is temporary .. water will always be your nemesis ❤
It's actually a concrete gully that runs the whole way behind the house. We might ultimately need a French drain when we rebuild, but don't know just yet.The plumber is a lovely guy and can speak good English too - which really helps. Yes, there's certainly plenty of infrastructure needed, and it will keep us busy for a LONG while yet 💪😎 🇵🇹
hi guys, great to see the washing machine plumbed in, if the grapes are from the seeds they might not be any good but time will tell, good luck and see you both in next vid.
I don't know if you've had a front loader machine before but you need to leave the door open for at least an hour, they get stinky if you don't! I never close mine.
Wow. I'm surprised how quickly you got hold of a plumber. We waited months for ours to come out to us & install our water heater, sink & shower!! Did you buy your washing machine in PT? We found them really expensive vs UK prices (maybe we looked in the wrong places?) so we pop into Intermarche to use their washers & driers at the moment, Great progress with the plumbing & getting the land back in order 👍
I think we just struck lucky. He did some electrical work here a few months ago and had a couple of hours spare on a Saturday morning. We bought the washer here at Worten, not a brand we know but the price was ok so we took it. We’re pleased with progress but there’s always a mountain still to do. 😎🛠️
I have got the same weed you have in the cracks of your cement. It’s a nightmare. The seeds blow away in the wind and it sprouts up everywhere. It needs chemical gardening to keep it under control!
First - I love the joyishness of the music but it hurts my ears. I had to turn the sound off. In someone else video show they were adding batteries to their solar power plant. The gentleman was told by an electrician that it was not a good idea to have the solar panels at right angles to each other. It was better to have the panels straight across in a line. I am not sure why. I bet the washing machine is a blessing to your day. It is so much harder to go to the laundromat. It tears into your day plans. I am happy for you both. You are finally getting the conveniences in your life.
Hi, and thanks a lot. Noted re the music, it’s a fine line to get the sound balance right and I’m working on it every week trying to improve each time. For the solar, I understand there is a particular setup where the straight line is beneficial. We don’t have that setup, and the orientation we have gives us good performance over a longer period. We are experimenting and learning all the time, and I’ll go back to my theory to check. And yes, the laundromat trips took a chunk out of the day that I am happy to have back. Onwards and upwards!
Hello - we have a house and a ruin in a small village called Salaborda Nova and we hope to relocate soon, we are also near Coimbra - wondering where you are based or located?
Thanks a lot. It’s actually just sketched on with a charcoal stick from an old fire, but we liked the sentiment and it seems to have been appreciated by our neighbours too. Ours is the happy tree house. 😀👍🌳

Wow, thank you! 🤭 🤭 🤭 Maybe one day....
Utility room looks good all the best from sunny Ireland
Thanks a lot. Each week makes us a little more comfortable. Still a long way to go but little wins along the way.
Well done guys 😊
Thanks for your support. We're really happy to be making progress, and hope you'll keep on watching.😎🇵🇹
That is truly exciting. I remember ours going in 🎉
It's had quite a bit of use already, as all this work on the land gets us very mucky!😎🇵🇹
Love watching you two. I have one request …… please don’t show any snakes. 😊😊 thanks
Thanks so much. Don't worry, if I see anything remotely slithery I'll be far too busy running in the opposite direction to do any filming!! 🏃♀️😳
Me too.. I would get excited by a plumbed washer.. 😊

Thanks for the hint!
Great job!!!

Oh dear, that's not great news 🙁 We're hoping to avoid chemical solutions on the land, so will just have to wait and see how bad it gets

We're further north than you - not too far from Vila Nova de Poiares. Hope the relocation goes well. 😎
You carved a happy face into a tree? Good job in keep the local character. Unbelievable
