What baffles me is how BIG it is for just something to barely be able to see through a couple of portals. Even floor decorations like that wagon make me wonder if any of this is copy+pasted from Winterspring.
What I assume is that a lot of raw assets were just copied over from Winterspring and then trimmed down directly around the vicinity of the portals in order to make them look like Northrend. Plus, Blizzard always takes stuff to 110% when it comes to designing outside boundaries just in case somebody finds some way to glimpse through a stray window or over a balcony.
Cool to see a video about this. I discovered this somewhere at the start of Legion with my DH and took lots of screenshots being so proud to have found something like this. Sadly I lost all of them when I had to re-install Windows. I like the commentary you add to your videos giving insight about the instances and their history. Keep doing these!
What would have been super cool, is if they added something, that lets you play in the Vanilla Zones like they where before the Cataclysm ... similar to Northrend which had(back then the top seller) *Phasing* zones. Just as it is right now, some zones u can Phase into a original version, Blasted Lands has that as example.
The instance terrain beneath Naxx would be the terrain that existed prior to the development of Naxxramas, or at least for the parts of it that actually existed in game. Keep in mind, that Naxxramas was originally going to be entered through that instance portal behind Baron in Stratholme. In that case, the terrain in the Naxxramas instance wouldn't have the portcullis that was actually used in game, because when Naxx was first being developed, Blizzardwould've thought that the instance was being entered through the Portcullis in the inaccessible Stratholme portal. In that case, the terrain beneath Naxx wouldn't have the portcullis that we actually used, because it existed before Blizzard stopped hiding raids inside of dungeons. If you had explored the the undead side of Stratholme more, you might've found the original portcullis that was never used in retail.
its also noted in the games files that most of the weapons found that drop in naxxramas have names like "stratholme_mace04" or something like that, giving players the idea that the raid was really meant to be accessed after clearing stratholme and going through the green raid portal, even the patch artwork for "1.12 shadow of the Necropolis" shows KT and Naxx flying over stratholme, just to think how much different it would be if they kept this change,i always found it strange to see naxx outside of stratholme, and even stranger that the green toxic goo that used to fall down from its sides, doesn't flow anymore after the moved the raid to northrend.
Just over 13 years ago, i made a much crappier (borderline cringy) video on this area. I was ruthlessly attacked for calling it Northrend despite explaining how it was Northrend haha. Most of the comments are gone now but it still holds a special place in my heart. Your vid was very concise haha
It probably wasn't the transport because the original plan was to access Naxxramas through Stratholme; if one explores the Stratholme map in MapViewer or something similar, there's a hidden location where all the Scourge come through after you kill Rammstein that leads to an untextured, tiny version of Naxxramas floating above the terrain. This would have been in-keeping with two of the other raids, Molten Core and Blackwing Lair, both of which are also initially located within an existing dungeon (Blackrock Depths and Blackrock Spire, respectively) until you do a short attunement quest that allows you to access the raid from the world map (by speaking to Lothos the Riftwalker for Molten Core, or touching the Orb of the Black Dragonflight down the hall from the Blackrock Spire entrance for Blackwing Lair). One would assume that there was going to be an NPC in that portcullis who would transport your raid to Naxxramas after you completed the attunement, but this was changed and the Argent Dawn reputation attunement implemented instead sometime before Naxxramas went live.
Awesome video. Seen this done before but not in as much detail. Appreciate the run through the whole place. Also always nice to see Stratholme with the blue sky box instead of red, so much better to see everything! Thanks!
The growth exploit was patched back in BfA, but you can still do this with a Vengeance DH by using Metamorphosis in the area shown in the video and then using Infernal Strike to jump through the wall.
Really sad that you didn't show the old Naxx model without any textures on it in the city itself... It was one of my most memorable "exploits" mainly because of that little piece! Also, you've mentioned there are no NPCs including critters, but I remember I found a rat/mouse in the area around 6:30 ! Great video!~
Why dont you see if you can somehow get inside the Old Naxxramas floating above the plaguelands.. that tall mountain you past before approaching old naxx @ 6:10 or some other high area, you could probably can scale up the mountain with a Demon Hunter, and since it's higher than the Old Naxx raid, you can probably glide down to it. That or if you're able to use a Fel Meteorite in the area, just see if you can launch yourself up to it by using a couple of those.
This is easier when done with a warrior. Charge one of the Eye Stalks in the plague quarter and keep doing it to different ones from different angles and you can actually fall through the floor, and heroic leap to land and not die from fall dmg. This happened to me yesterday on accident and I was able to replicate it although it took some time.
The copy of stratholme you're exploring in Naxx is mostly the same as the overworld version of strath, which has been unchanged for the most part. Getting into overworld stratholme is pretty easy, and from there you can explore the old quel'thalas place holder, and a crude copy of a small portion of ghostlands. Also, those invisible walls inside of buildings are probably caused by the terrain, not purposely placed there to prevent you from going further.
Saw the stormwind video when watchin pyromancer theories, this is actually very nicely set up and definitely reminds me a bit of some of hayvens videos. One thing that seems to set apart from that is that you're using your character to get to these places though, which makes it feel a bit more possible for an average player to do. Can't wait to see the next video!
11:22 if you went further down that path into the room right before the baron entrence and took a left (where the ghouls attacks you) after defeating ramstein( the abomination) you would have found an early version of untextured naxxramas... Naxxramas within naxxramas
Hey man, i just want to say that I really appricate the fact that you waste so much time making all those videos, knowing you don't do it as a part of your job, just purely because you like it. I watch your videos every night at bed before sleeping
I was just doing the mage artifact quest to get Felo'melorn and was able to get out of the quest area by blinking through some ice boulders that were blocking the way. I couldn't explore much else besides the central chamber of ICC but thought it might be worth a look?
Nice Video, Hayvan would be proud RIP! Only thing that bothered me, and probably only me: the frost dragon is called saPHIRon not sapherion xD I wiped so many times on that guy, ill never forget its name ;)
can you explore the hidden quelthalas zone accessible from service gate stratholme? also do you know if warlocks can use demonic gateway to get there? (you need herioc leap, grapple, or blink, unsure about gateway)
So I just went to that by accident. I was in the room with the maggots and the eyestalks. I used charge on one of them of the mobs and think I hit one of the tubs (or whatever it's called). Fell through the floor and could heroic leap in time to save my ass. It amazed me of how big it was. Remembered seeing your vid and thought stuff like this is cool but I'd never get to experience it, never say never I guess :p
Say you were to do it nowadays on a regular server, would you run the risk of getting banned? I've always wanted to explore this part myself but thought I'd run the risk of 11 years of gaming :/
Been doing stuff like this for a long, long time and haven't gotten banned. I don't think they care because you're not getting any advantage over other players. Different thing though if you were to do it in a BG, or perhaps an active raid tier in order to skip bosses/trash, perhaps.
A Priests' levitate spell will work, so you can either explore on a priest if you have one, or bring one along. The demon hunters double jump/dash will also get you out.
I'm pretty sure there's an untextured flying mini-naxxramas at the end of the Service Entrance inside the naxx instance, behind the gate next to Lord Rivendare's ziggurat. Big mistake not going there!
Yep! I found it later when exploring a bit after posting the video. I may do a mini video at some point later because I regret missing it in my first pass.
there's a few videos about the untextured naxx up already. there's also a way to get kinda behind silvermoon with a demon hunter via double jumps. what i have NOT seen in years is the area beneath old orgrimmar. :O
i know. i just can't remember if they took the awning out, or when the last time was that was underneath or even paid that much attention to orgrimmar. since server merges happened, orgrimmar is full of all kind of unsavory individuals.
lmao i remember this zone being one of the only 2 that i was able to explore for myself- and man did it feel epic- and kinda lonely- lmao- i like exploring in WoW and watchin these types of vids- ^w^ edit: i just remembered i got to 3 out of bounds places- this place, stratholm, and that one dungeon thats a "this would be if deathwing won" i dont remember the name of it- XD
Me and my friends found the old level 60 naxx raid portal and we got in.. all of the original bosses and NPCs were there and we got all the mogs you find in BMAH
No you didn't. Naxx40 was updated to Naxx25 in Wrath, legit its ID is the same for everything. Thats why you can still complete Naxx40 quests inside Naxx25. Lets say the portal to Naxx40 was somehow hanging out in the plaguelands in this video it would take you to Naxx25. People tested this in classic. Hey, I really appreciate the effort that must have gone in to this video. One note - Maybe don't include the methods in the video. The Archivist i think the guy who shouts "Holla Ballers, it's Preach here", or Hayven did a video detailing this a long time ago, so no patch has been applied.
It's remarkable how much atmospheric skyboxes impact an area. Stratholme here looks practically cheery.
Yeah! It has a huge impact! The video I'm working on right now also has an altered Skybox and it's crazy how different the zone feels.
how creepy it would be to find a single lonely NPC patrolling in the zone. maybe even a quest giver
now that you put this idea in my head, it's creeping me out
I've found solitary, nude, male npcs, just standing there
maybe the ashbringer questgiver is somewhere around there, just keep looking
@@tehjamerz Isn't that like a size reference for the average NPC height?
I feel like this is where they should put a tribute to Hayven Games. Just a tier 2 paladin wandering the unused and out of bounds areas of the game
Make more! Hayven would most definitely be proud.
Miss him so much :(

you didnt show the area with baron rivendare and the green instance gate which had an untextured naxxramas platform
Cool to see a video about this. I discovered this somewhere at the start of Legion with my DH and took lots of screenshots being so proud to have found something like this. Can you try to explore the Dead Scar INSIDE Silvermoon City?
Yeah basic ! I remember doin it and also outside hyjal and under Orgrimmar :D Good old time
I just watched both of your videos, I was surprised you only had 2 and had just recently made this channel. Keep it up!
Really sad that you didn't show the old Naxx model without any textures on it in the city itself... It was one of my most memorable "exploits" mainly because of that little piece!

That brought back memories of the pvp fights my friends and I used to have out there. EPL was a hot bed for pvp/questing opportunities.

What's the name of the ost that starts at 2:42? And other background music if you know please reply
its the military quarter music from naxx
Why did you not go to that gate that leads back to naxx, when you were inside strat?
11:22 if you went further down that path into the room right before the baron entrence and took a left (where the ghouls attacks you) after defeating ramstein( the abomination) you would have found an early version of untextured naxxramas...
Naxxramas within naxxramas

I watch your videos every night at bed before sleeping
Okay but, that's a ridiculous amount of stuff outside of the normal Naxxramas instance. Wow.
The first snowy zone is the zone originally shown in the naxx cutscene.
that zone was created for naxx trailer, for anyone wondering, though on the trailer blizzard abused snow weather effects
Recently while try to play seething shore i spawned in silithus with the sword but nothing else, managed to film some of it. Was awesome
At 13:30 and the other time you pointed out one of those plague buildings earlier in the vid, those are used for questing through the zone
Nice Nice.. One thing you forgot i.. You can go through the Old Naxx Entrance (gate + portal) and see the teleporter that TP u up to Naxx 40

Thank you! Haven was definitely one of the best WoW explorers, his videos are greatly missed.
*Hayven*
Amazing, see the zone before cata and some pieces of vanilla *.* magical
also in the chappel if you angel the camer just right at the invisable wall you can see we are inside a hill that is proventing us from going further
Not totally sure, but I think the snowy area outside Sapphiron and Kel'thuzad's rooms was used in the original Naxxramas trailer
Where is the northrend part of the instance relative to this plagjuelands parts? They still had to put it somewhere on the same map, right?
Is it just me or does the wintery parts of the outside zone look like the areas in which the DK reveal trailer takes place?
14:50 is that darrowshire?
The part of the zone that is the plaguelands is prior to the cataclysm. I can't believe it still "Exists" in game.
can you explore the hidden quelthalas zone accessible from service gate stratholme? also do you know if warlocks can use demonic gateway to get there? (you need herioc leap, grapple, or blink, unsure about gateway)
So from getting into any of these hidden areas would you be able to say...run to Stv in Zul gurub and zone into it and the mobs and bosses load up?
So I just went to that by accident. I was in the room with the maggots and the eyestalks. I used charge on one of them of the mobs and think I hit one of the tubs (or whatever it's called). Fell through the floor and could heroic leap in time to save my ass. It amazed me of how big it was. 13:11 has some elite abominations inside it in world, doesn't it? if i remember right the original entrance was basically just shoved underground.
Thanks man! Now we know why the game has 50 TB and it takes a week to load.
I love all the hidden areas, just wish they'd populate them for us
I cant seem to get this to work. Does this work in 2020 pre Shadowlands?
That was enjoyable, thanks for the video, from russia with love :)
Kinda poetic to visit these places as an *outlaw* rogue, ain't it? :D
theres a similar zone when entering ZG and jumping on and over the gates into an un-instanced stranglethorn vale
I love videos like these, theyre so interesting! You've definitely earned a sub from me
What musics do you use ?
did you already visit wotlk hyjal with levitate bug?
Tell me about this?
@@vaskataseva2403 in wotlk you can wallwalk with levitate, once i went into mount hiyal Area beflre it was released
I was just mucking around in nax and found you can swim through the ooze to get between the areas ha
Yes the areas are connected thru the green fluid canals. You need to be much higher level to attempt that. I think I noticed it after cataclysm
Hot fixed for the growth stuff it shrinks you back down.
Great content, you've earned a sub.
you forgot the untextured naxxramas modell behind the endboss, in the extra chamber, with the teleporter
I'm still waiting for that Anduin lore video You promised 3 years ago mate
Copy-pasted terrain from another zone. Many instances contain such things (e.g. Karazhan contains bits and pieces of Zul'Gurub).
I think lore wise Stratholme or however it’s spelled is the creepiest place in all of WoW. The forever burning city the of the dead and lost souls
there's an even easier way to get out. If you have a demon hunter, you can double jump out of KT's room through a wall just left of throne
i tried jumping throug walls. in the end i found you can jump over the throne
Search for the Black Square in the snowy zone, it logs you out of the game
Awesome! :) Any ideas of what other items one could use for a slow-fall effect if we don't have a filled festive mug?
A Priests' levitate spell will work, so you can either explore on a priest if you have one, or bring one along. The demon hunters double jump/dash will also get you out.
Mages have a slow fall ability as well. Feather Falling was it? Can't remember... I have long since deleted my mage since it's not a class for me lol
Goblin glider kit
Great video! Subbed before you’re popular and I’m sure you will be.
Sapphiron = Saff-ih-ron, not Saff-err-ee-on.
THANK YOU! I cringed hard when he said it
no one cares

Literally all of the guys that make wow videos are dyslexic... they pronounce everything that's more than two syllables incorrectly
Love it! :) Cool video!
this is old. remember watching a similar vid many years ago
could you imagine finding optimal grinding behind a clip?
How come Blizz dosen't ban you for this ?
They wont see him
Ich vermisse WoW wirklich sehr.
Liebte die pestländer mit ihren myhten und Geschichten vielen Dank für das Video :)
Theese are interesting but removing them would probably decrease loading time
I think we may have finally found a worthy successor to Hayven games.
Hayven would like. and so will i
I'm pretty sure there's an untextured flying mini-naxxramas at the end of the Service Entrance inside the naxx instance, behind the gate next to Lord Rivendare's ziggurat. Big mistake not going there!

just look at all that additional space the wow takes in your pc! lmao

How you guys even come up with how to do stuff like this haha 👌😬 keep it up
Outro music pls :'(
All of that, and you didn't go behind Baron Rivendare? I'd argue that's the biggest reason to visit this secret...
3 years late but... whats behind there?
hey dude it's not SAFAREAN...ITS SAPPHIRON. WOOOOOOOOOW.,
Me and my friends found the old level 60 naxx raid portal and we got in.. all of the original bosses and NPCs were there and we got all the mogs you find in BMAH

cool story bro
No you didn't. Naxx40 was updated to Naxx25 in Wrath, legit its ID is the same for everything. Thats why you can still complete Naxx40 quests inside Naxx25. No credits? :(
Lol "plague buildings"... They're called ziggurats.
Also... Does this entire zone actually load like this just for the instance?!?
Makes me wonder what happened to Naxxramas after WoTLK. Maybe it fell out of the air?
so i just found a single rat outside. it slowly floated down....this was near the pot at 6:42 in to the video
Interesting. It could potentially have some of the raid's scripts/logic tied to it.
Do icecrown citadel
It's not "Safarion" it's "Saph-ih-ron".
Insane...
SAFF-ER-RON
I would hunt for rocks to mine lol
How do you even find this lol
Hey, I really appreciate the effort that must have gone in to this video. One note - Maybe don't include the methods in the video. nah man preach didnt do it. Heelvsbabyface and Hayven did a video on it but preach and heel both are brits so i can understand the confusion
Oğuz Can ah yes, u right. But I swear it's basically the same voice
you get used to it if you watch one or the other's content a lot :D in my case its preach gaming
If it gets patched that means nobody makes new vids about it and he gets more youtube money. Sounds like a bad deal for him do change the formula.

Hayven would be proud of you
