Johnny, according to her maternal uncle & business manager, Michael Astar, music moguls flew to Oslo in their private jets with briefcases full of money & contracts in hand, even Disney, but all were turned down. He said they were really mad & had never been turned down like that before. Fortunately, her family was wealthy enough not to need the money that was offered, so they fiercely protected her, allowing her to have a relatively "normal" childhood. They continued to say no for 6 years until Republic Records made her an offer she couldn't refuse when she was 14, but they had to agree not to promote her until she finished HS & turned 18. Now, as a young adult she is ready to officially begin her career. Nice reaction Johnny, can't wait for more. Her growth has been in leaps & bounds since then, which you will see when you watch her version of Screamin' Jay Hawkins, I Put A Spell On You, just 1 year later when she had just turned 9. Here is the link. ua-cam.com/video/nwFloCPXzCs/v-deo.html
Big fan here. Saw this little miracle with few teeth and heart-rending voice for the first time at NGT 4 years ago and have been trapped ever since. No artist like her. Great reaction, all said. Thks.
It's so moving to see here a future star in making ❤How many too young artists have disappeared after a few months... Lucky she was to have got a so protective family 🌹
When I was a student (many, many years ago) I remember learning about child prodigies such as Mozart and wondered what it would be like to watch them grow and develop. Lo and behold, we are witnessing such a prodigy right now developing right before our eyes, thanks to the internet and UA-cam. I am blessed to be able to witness the growth over ten years of the remarkable talent, beauty, humanity, and humility of this prodigy, Angelina Jordan.
That was great fun! Thanks so much! Yes, I appreciate your concern about her well being during this crazy series of events in her life but not to worry. Her family has kept her feet firmly planted on the ground and Angelina has told us she understands how we feel about her and at the same time she feeds off all of that love and she loves everyone of us in return. As you know by now it is a family affair and we are her extended family. Trips to the USA, Brazil, Japan, Korea, etc., were all scheduled when school was not in session and so her family was able to make arrangements for her to sing to people all over the world while at the same time making sure she was always having fun. The one judge was speaking to her about what she would be at 18 years old. Well, IT IS 10 years later and she is 18 and it's been some journey. Since relocating to Los Angeles after leaving Norway she's had 4 Concert's and we just got word earlier today she will be giving us her schedule for upcoming Concerts. I believe she will be going on a world tour and my hope is she will do a gig in New York before heading across the pond. Her latest song, 'Bad Valentine', particularly the jazzy version of the song, might be nominated for a Grammy Award. In fact, she could be up for 'best new artist', best jazz song and maybe more! It's now 2:40am and I have to go to sleep! "Keep 'em coming! We'll know the songs and because it's Angelina singing we can listen to the same song well over 1000 times and still get emotional listening to her each time. It's crazy!"
Fantastic reactions and comments Johnny! She is a gold mine and also a diamond mine. You'll notice soon how her 8 year old voice sounds when she speaks and then transitions to that soulful voice when she sings and goes to that special place. She is a once in a lifetime phenomenon. I'm so happy for you that you discovered her. She changes lives for the better.
I subscribed ! Wow, Great reaction! To actually go back and research a video just to read the comments shows real respect. Five years ago this month I discovered Angelina, and I don’t miss a single day listening to her. Music is such a powerful influence that even hard rock, punk, country, jazz, standards etc can be appreciated by anyone with an open mind. Explore any and every age of this young ladies music catalog and be amazed. Age nine years and two months she sings her own arrangement of the 1956 I out A Spell On You. Crazy good! Thank you from Alaska
I like Angelina 👩🎤Angelina sings on a different level in her own league! Bye love 💖❤️❤️🔥 and peace ✌️☮️ from Switzerland 🇨🇭🇨🇭🇨🇭 God 💥protect 🙏 the whole Astar Angels 😇 family 😀! 🙋♂️!
Nicely done! Amazing how she improved at every song even though it was only a matter of weeks/months between performances. Also love how she is still a little girl when being interviewed, but when it's time to sing she can flip a switch and go to her inner world of light and beauty. Looking forward to the next reaction, you better buckle in to your chair though because 9 year old Angelina is going to rock your world!
@@JohnnyFoxtrotshowit’s generally agreed that Angelina became a world class vocalist by the age of ten. Two songs you could look at confirm that..I’ll leave the links below. “Feelin Good” full live jazz band and live on tv too..personally I don’t think she’s bettered this performance to date. Equalled it but not surpassed (just my opinion). Then her demo of Baby Fuzz’s “I’m Still Holding Out For You” Many angels have these two songs in their top ten even though 8 years worth of new works of art have been created by Angelina. Looking at these two performances together would be great fun and not reacted together before so far as I know. I have read that the judges and all of the behind the scenes of this show had treated her as gently as possible and as kindly as well. Talking with her family of ways to protect her from the snakes of this industry. She does a documentary called 10 years in the making where she speaks of her family and how grateful she is to have them helping her every step of the way. Her uncle is her manager. Even when she appeared on AGT at the age of 13 there were contracts her family would not agree too or she would have been owned by Simon Cowell Many believe as do I it is why she did not even make it to the top 5 as she get to that part you will know what happened. I’m really enjoying going through this journey with you. Thankyou for your reactions ❤️
every Song Angelina sang is so great but i do love her at age 8 with the Jackson five song I' ll be there - it displays her great heart for others the best imo
@@JohnnyFoxtrotshow According to Rusty Shackleford's list, you would be missing 6-7 songs. Although, the dating on the last one is a little uncertain (she was probably 9 and possibly after IPASOY). That excludes additional performances of the same songs and reherseals and the like from grandma Mery's channel. ua-cam.com/video/rI6ZhRk86Hs/v-deo.html
@JohnnyFoxtrotshow Being at an age when words are becoming elusive, I'm grateful to remember one! And having a little college is better for us than having too much lol. 😂
You would do well to listen to her talk about how she feels here; she is thrilled, so pleased...This is a goal she's worked for, with her overall expressed long-range goal being her aiming for super-stardom, so she can sing all over the world.
In her sweet spot in front of a live audience and killing it. Just a 8 year old doing what she loves to do! “She is music.”The elegance continues to shine through so mature beyond her age! What a young lady! From what I’ve heard the judges saw her talking with the guitarist and telling him exactly how she wanted it played-Angelina in Boss mode at 8-that is when they knew she was for real! 🇳🇴🇺🇸💯 The elegance continues to shine through so mature beyond her age! What a young lady! She won the finals with 46% of the vote of the 10 finalist let that sink in! 🇳🇴🇺🇸💯 After winning her Uncle Mike became her manager! When she was 11-12 years old she wrote a song about her family’s protection called Shield! You will see Grandma Mery in the audience holding up her pictures, she is Angelina’s inspiration and influence. She exposed Angelina to the Jazz greats at an early age which has led to this extraordinary moment! Oh yeah and was codified as a National Treasure by the King and Prime Minister of Norway! 🇳🇴🇺🇸💯
Yes: Next should be “I Put a Spell on You”. It’s the most incredible vocal performance by any 9 year old ever, and absolutely the best cover of that iconic song (which has been covered by dozens of others).
Re: “Bang Bang” most child singers try to hit the highest notes and the longest runs and don’t understand what the song is about. But not A.J. Her voice is so soft and subtle that it draws you in. She knows exactly what the song is about. IMO she is the best singer in the world.
🧸🧸🧸🧸Great reaction Johnny, hope you are feeling better. Incredible how much her vocals changed in just a few months of time on this show. Thank you for supporting our Angel of music, much appreciation, and also for the wonderful sincere comments, some of the very best commentary I have seen from anyone reacting to this Child. Cheers and Stay Well. BTW, looking forward to more Warning as well..... 😎😎
Thank you so much my friend 🙏always appreciate and enjoy reading your comments. I am feeling a bit better, thanks for asking! I got you on the Warning tomorrow 😉
👣This was a great 30 min. review on this historic event. I do love to go back every now and then to re-experience these air-gasping moments we had back 10 years ago. And thinking about that this girl only has been going on to surprice and blow my mind during these years by new gasping moments, of beauty, tears and joy👣 🤗
Thank you so much for this reaction we are very happy that you chose to go through all the NGT songs. But the second performance she did was the clincher I think, when she started to sing "I'm A Fool To Want You" every contestant knew at that point the competition was lost for them to a 7 year old soon to be 8, and what a shock it was for them, what was the point to go on, they might as well just go home, but they signed a contract to do the whole show and had to stay. Now she is 18 and her talent has skyrocketed but we have not seen the rise of recognition yet that she deserves. Her songs that she has sung in the past two years all deserve a Grammy yet many reactors have not reacted to her much in all that time. So thank you again for looking into her performance bringing awareness to her immense talent and I hope you will continue to keep Angelina Jordan in the spotlight.
I enjoyed reading your comment my friend. That might explain why a lot of people have been wanting me to listen to more of her recent stuff? I'm all about the support for the Artist. If that would be better for AJ than maybe I should definitely consider doing that sooner than I previously stated. Appreciate you Robert! 🙏💜🧸
Please make sure you watch the black and white studio version. It has millions of views. After many viewings, it still amazes me every time I watch it. An incredible masterpiece!
Absolute top notch reaction, my friend! Incredibly respectful one, that's for sure. I'm happy that you discovered her a few weeks back. She is like no other out there. I subbed last time and now I subbed again. Much love from Norway ♥♥♥♥♥
What is the definition of beauty? It's right here, within and without, Angelina, a very special young lady. Thank God she also has a very special family behind her in full protection mode.
This is a good time for you to watch her documentary "10 Years in the Making", narrated by her. After the judge commented on where she would be in ten years. Angelina Jordan - 10 Years In The Making ua-cam.com/video/I_59PZXkusc/v-deo.html
Her family has been very protective .. early on they sent the Hollywood bunch back home .. Angelina would perform at various events in Norway and around the world but mostly enjoyed a relatively normal childhood. Her manager is Michael Astar. Michael has a sister Sara Astar .. who has a daughter .. Angelina Jordan Astar. She is/was about as protected as possible for a prodigy. :)

Hahaha you’re like me trying to explain Angelina to someone unfamiliar with her. Stuff like -she’s like an alien who can program herself to sing anything beautifully but can tap into human emotions too. I sound crazy to myself. But what else can you say?
You're sounding like another one of Angelina's uncles in her legion of uncles..I'd like to think of myself as one of her thousands of grand dads. You get a ton of respect for promoting her, thx.
I thought your discussion was important. I've seen reactors go through that a few times and it is always important. Thankfully the NGT competition and the judges feedback gives a very very good platform to try to contextualize this. What do you do with a prodigy? You praise them and thank them and let them be a kid; A kid with an open invitation to keep contributing as only they can. Her family has done such an amazing job with her. Praise to Sarah and Meri and Juliette and uncle. From all we can see AJ is still feeling free and not shackled by her talent.
That is absolutely wonderful to hear. From what I've gathered she has been very lucky and blessed to be sheltered from a lot of that. That makes me heart melt even more. That true love from her family to protect her from "the world".
Angelina, after winning, was asked what she wanted to do with the prize money (500,000 kroner or about $80,000). She replied, "I want to give it to the poor children". The prize money was put into a trust where Angelina would have access to it when she turned 18.
A barefoot princess with a hypnotic voice. Angelina Summertime (George Gershwin song) was based on Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong version. There's some 'blue notes' here. This early performance of "Summertime" was so impressive. I loved it. Her first audition on the show of "gloomy Sunday" by Billie Holiday was the one that made people's head's snap back in her direction, first catching the attention of an international audience. But her second one, another Billie Holiday song, was impossibly done with no music and all her competitors standing just behind her, showing on stage she has no nerves. She pretty much left everyone speechless. The next one I think, "Bang Bang", let everyone know she was not limited to old school jazz. She is one of the most versatile singers in the world. So many wonderful covers and originals. She's not scared of tackling complex songs from top artists.
I didn't see these performances when they first went viral online, but they were among the first handful of things I saw from Angelina. At the time, what impressed me the most was her pitch control and the overall "mature" approach to singing the songs. As I watched more of her stuff, and rewatched these particular performances over and over, it occurred to me that what really made her stand out at that age can be summed up in three words: "attention to detail". In the first song here, for example, at about 0:54 in this reaction video, she sings the line, "To want a love that can't be true". That last word, "true": listen carefully to how she sings that word. She easily could have sung it in a rather "perfunctory" way, more or less like one would say it in regular speech. As the last word of the third line of the song, there wouldn't seem to be any particular reason to pay special attention to that word - and, indeed, most listeners probably have never actually noticed anything special about how she sang it. But she _did_ sing it in a special way: she starts with an unvoiced "tr" sound, pronounced more like a "ch"; then, instead of starting the voiced part of the word with the "r" sound, as one would expect, she completely replaces that "r" with just "empty air" (i.e., an unvoiced fricative, kind of like a non-whistley imitation of the wind); and then she finally brings in the voiced, vibrato-laden "oo" vowel sound. This is just one tiny example of a great many "choices" she made while singing these songs. Even if someone doesn't consciously notice every individual choice she is making, collectively they give the impression of a very much older and more experienced singer than one would expect just looking at her. OK, now I shall watch the other 33 minutes of your reaction.😄
That is a great line...(would (easily) swap me for her) thanks for that it made me laugh 🤣 I am sure he will be keeping you around for a long, someone has to drive him to her concert when he can no longer drive lol.
A wonderful reaction! The captions missed a couple of interesting things. The "older lady" actually said that Angelina made her cry, to which she responded, "I didn't mean to", and then the lady gave her a hug. And in the last song's comments, the judge actually said Angelina has a unique ability to convey emotion, not just "style", as the translation said. I Put a Spell On You is a great next choice. Can't wait.
I think you should do Fly Me To the Moon on the View next as it happened next, then I Put Spell on You. I sent those links in comments on your 1st AJ reaction. After that go for it! Thanks a lot for the reaction to The Barefoot Jazzy Queen Angelina. Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman. Angelina started singing around 18 months of age, after listening to Whitney Houston on UA-cam. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz. Mery Zamani is Iranian and was a prodigy as an artist and poet while growing up in Iran. Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where starting around age 4, she had training in music but no vocal training. Her teachers were smart enough to not attempt to change what she was doing vocally. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage. Why Angelina always performs barefoot At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. PLEASE PURCHASE Angelina’s book from her merchandise store on her official website, angelinajordanofficial Angelina, at age 6 and 7, did record a few songs in a recording studio at her school, most notably “I Who Have Nothing”, a truly remarkable performance for a 7 year old. At age 7, Angelina’s audition on Norway’s Got Talent, was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried. Angelina had turned 8 years old for her next performance on NGT, covering Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition and was not performed in front of an audience. In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang” which was written by Sonny Bono and was first performed by his wife Cher but is best known sung by Nancy Sinatra. The improvement in each performance is incredible even though there were only a couple months between them. In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 46% of the votes from the ten finalists. When asked what she would like to do with the prize money she won (500,000 kroner or about $80,000), Angelina replied, “I want to give it to the poor children”. Angelina had become a star in her native Norway and her videos on UA-cam went viral. She gave a few concerts during the summer of 2014 while 8 years old. In December 2014, Angelina realized a life-long desire to sing at the Save the Children's Peace Prize Celebration which is part of the Noble Peace Prize celebration. Angelina’s family took her to United States, Brazil, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Russia, South Korea, Singapore among other corners of Earth, to perform for heads of state and to help raise money for charity. All before Angelina turned 14. At age 9, Angelina recorded a music video covering the 1956 Jay Hawkin’s classic, “I Put a Spell On You”. The video begins by showing Angelina writing her “wishes” for how she wants to perform the song. Angelina has always created her own arrangements for her cover songs. At age 10 and just a week before her 11th birthday, Angelina recorded a demo of “I’m Still Holding Out for You”. Her family never pursued having that recording officially released but someone leaked it on a UA-cam video. Thankfully, everyone involved with that song is now ok with the leaked version. Many angels (fans) believe this is one of Angelina’s best performances. When Angelina was 11, she performed a number of concerts in Norway with a jazz/rock band. Those concerts included up to 14 songs, each remarkably performed. Angelina seems to be at her best when on stage, never nervous, only 100% confident. Also at age 11, Angelina recorded her “It’s Magic” album which has, at times, been in the top 10 best selling jazz albums. On June 27, 2018, at age 12, Jordan performed Frank Sinatra “Fly Me to the Moon” for Quincy Jones in The O2 Arena in London. She has said that was the high point of her young career which was already in it’s 6th year. During 2018, Angelina lost her paternal grandfather, her friend Avicii and one of her idols, Aretha Franklin. She did a moving tribute for each. In 2019, Angelina accepted an invitation to compete in the 2nd season of America’s Got Talent (AGT), The Champions. She had, since age 3, wanted to perform for Simon Cowell and she earned his praise with her genius arrangement of “Bohemian Rhapsody”. The surviving members of Queen loved it so much they put a link to it on their Twitter. Angelina was eliminated after covering Elton John’s “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”. Angelina’s family refused to sign any agreement with AGT. Angelina, before age 14, had covered more than 130 songs from 80 different artists, spanning at least 8 genres, all of which are available on UA-cam. Angelina has always made changes to each song she covers and often her version is preferred over the original. On UA-cam, search on The Complete Works of Angelina Jordan as Rusty Shackleford has put all songs in one file and has a complete playlist in the description of that video. The pandemic hit shortly after her performances on AGT and likely caused a change of plans by her family, most notably her Uncle Michael who is her manager. Her family agreed to a contract with Republic Records in August 2020. Republic Records declared Angelina Jordan their highest priority new artist. Reportedly her family requested Republic to allow her as normal a childhood as possible and therefore have yet to fully promote her. During the pandemic, Angelina was often seen buying meals for the homeless on the streets of Los Angeles. In November 2020, Angelina released “Million Miles” which she wrote after the passing of her beloved maternal grandfather. She dedicated the song to anyone who has ever lost a loved one. Angelina had previously released, 3 other original songs: “What is Life”, “Oslo” and “Shield” In April 2021, her original “7th Heaven” was released. A jazzy, danceable, inspiring song. Angelina has posted numerous short performances on Tik Tok and Instagram. Angelina had concerts in Norway in July 2022. In December 2022, Angelina performed at the Asian American Awards in Los Angeles. On 2/27/23, Angelina performed at the FIFA Awards ceremony in Paris, France, with a viewing audience in the millions. On May 5th, 2023, Angelina released her original "Love Don't Let Me Go". On July 23th she released her orginal EP “Old Enough”. Angelina perform Concert at the Music Hall in Portsmouth New Hampshire on Sept 22nd, 2023. On 10/27/23 she released her new orginal singiel “Our Time”. In November 2023, she was presented as a debutante at Le Bal des débutantes in Paris. On 12/08/23 she released new Marry Christmas EP “Driving Home for Christmas”. On 12/10/23 she sing in Oslo at the Nobel Peace Prize Celebration - Unchained Melody tribute to 2023 Nobel Peace Prize laureate Iranian human rights activist Narges Mohammadi. On february 29, 2024 she had two concerts in Las Vegas, Nevada,on the Elvis stage. On May 16, 2024, the first fruits of Angelina's cooperation with Tobi Gad were released. This German composer and record producer based in Los Angeles invited Angeline to an intimate concert at the Hotel Cafe JESSE & FRIENDS, the same one where Adel sang and was discovered. Tobi then took Angelina to London, where she performed His song If I Were A Boy at the London Palladium, and they recorded two versions of the song, Live At Saint James Church, and another studio version illustrated with a film from the streets of London. It seems that Tobi has started cooperation with Angelina and there are several joint songs in the pipeline. At the May concert in Los Angeles, one of them was presented: BAD VALENTINE. Angelina perform Concert at the Alex Theatre in Glendale, CA on Sept. 20th, 2024. On the same day she released her new orginal singiel in cooperation with Tobi Gad Bad Valentine.
Angelina is 7 years old in this video. Angelina started singing when she was 1 1/2 years of age and there is video of her at that age sitting in a bed with a microphone in her hand singing Whitney Houston's "I will always love you ". You need to go back to when Angelina was 6 years old in the studio singing and recording a Tom Jones classic " I who have nothing " and work your way to current day. Angelina is 18 years old now as of January 10th 2024 and is about to turn 19 years old in a couple months.
What's funny is when you said, after the winner was announced, the guy next to her had a "I was this close" look on his face. Actually, the host said, when making the announcement, that Angelina got 46% of the votes. That means the other contestants combined only got 54% to divide up between them. Nobody came "this close". I wonder how long it took for them to realize that. It would be interesting to know many votes #2 got. And, #3. Out of the 10 finalists.
Thanks for the forecast! Could you help me with something unrelated: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). What's the best way to send them to Binance?
Keep in mind, BTW, that even though her family shielded her from the worst aspects of "the industry", that doesn't mean she didn't do a ton of live appearances. I don't have an exact count, but based on just the things I have pretty firm dates for in my records, the total number of live events (festivals, TV shows, full concerts, etc.) she sang at between the ages of 7 and 14 (when she finally signed with Republic Records) exceeds 50. (And that doesn't include rehearsals, studio sessions, and other kinds of "closed set" performances, many of which we have footage of, courtesy of her family.)
You were talking about how talented people are often pressured to "be certain things" that other people want them to be. I've thought a lot about whether Angelina's prodigious talent might "obligate" her in certain ways - to us, her fans, or to the larger world. IOW, does she "owe us" anything? My knee-jerk reaction to that question would be, "Of course not." But I think it's not quite so simple. She has expressed, repeatedly, from a very early age, the desire to be a "superstar" who can "sing for the whole world". Sometimes it seems like her whole life has been a slow but deliberate march towards that inevitability. Or, to put it in more practical terms, many of the decisions she and her family have made over the years have been made if not explicitly in service of, then at least made "in light of" that ultimate goal. (Possibly the most extreme example of which is her family's decision to cross an ocean and move from Oslo to Los Angeles when she was 12, which, as her uncle/manager tells the story, was done specifically for her sake. [Like, no pressure or anything… right?]) In the process, her efforts (and theirs) have built up a significant fanbase (not nearly lagre enough - but that's a whole 'nother discussion). Hundreds of millions of people have heard her sing. Probably hundreds of thouands would consider themselves fans. Who knows how many would say they literally love her. So, does that mean she is, in some way, obligated to these people? Not just appreciative - as she clearly is - but actually _obligated_ ? I would say, yes. But only in one specific way. And it doesn't have anything to do with her singing or the music she puts out. The one thing I would say she is, so to speak, "morally" obligated to do, is to try her utmost to keep herself safe and healthy. To not take any unnecessary risks along those lines. To put it bluntly, to not eff herself up, like so many of the artists she has looked up to basically her whole life, and has repeatedly covered (and some would say, copied) over the years: Amy, Whitney, Elvis, Billie… One could argue, I suppose, that some of these people were less directly responsible for their own downfall than others (in that list), but, strictly speaking, they all ended up destroying themselves. And this is what she owes us: to learn *all* the lessons from their examples, and to not make the same stupid decisions that they did.
Hi Johnny, Good, you have taken this version of "I'm a fool to want you"; there is a shorter version because there are 54 seconds cut out. And these 54 seconds are so good - even with speaking in - but the good thing of this version is, that you can't hear that there is something missing: AJ hit exactly the notes even after nearly a minute... Judges' Cut-Off with all of AJ's singing: "I’m a fool to want you": ua-cam.com/video/LXknLZDoRVQ/v-deo.html The version, where at 1:13 is the cut where 54 (or 43) sec. are missing and you don't hear it...: ua-cam.com/video/6LIcQL5gLoY/v-deo.html ;-) And for to review her development you should AFTER reacting to her version on Norske Talenter react to her studio recording footage at 11/12(?) yo: ua-cam.com/video/SGx0djXTXQk/v-deo.html If I say that this is fantastic it would be underestimate her talent, her musical and vocal abilities… "Summertime" is originally from the opera (Gershwin was insistent that it is an opera) "Porgy and Bess" from George Gershwin 1934 - the premiere was September 30th1935 and was sung by Abbie Mitchell. The first commercialized recording was sung by Helen Jepson and was recorded Oktober 23rd 1935. In the meanwhile it is a well known jazz standard.

💜🧸
Thank you so much Robert! I always enjoy reading your comments. I appreciate you! 🙏🧸
Fantastic reactions and comments Johnny! She is a gold mine and also a diamond mine. You'll notice soon how her 8 year old voice sounds when she speaks and then transitions to that soulful voice when she sings and goes to that special place. She is a once in a lifetime phenomenon.
@jefftofte9419 the progression already has been mind blowing. Im sure year after year is going to be nuts!

@@JohnnyFoxtrotshow According to Rusty Shackleford's list, you would be missing 6-7 songs. Although, the dating on the last one is a little uncertain (she was probably 9 and possibly after IPASOY). The elegance continues to shine through so mature beyond her age! What a young lady! She won the finals with 46% of the vote of the 10 finalist let that sink in! 🇳🇴🇺🇸💯
After winning her Uncle Mike became her manager! When she was 11-12 years old she wrote a song about her family’s protection called Shield! You will see Grandma Mery in the audience holding up her pictures, she is Angelina’s inspiration and influence.
@@JohnnyFoxtrotshow You won't go amiss looking up AJ's relationship with her grandmother Meri.

😂 I appreciate you Donald 🙏🧸

I do still need to watch that first video!
Facts! I noticed that Math as well! That's ALOT of a difference 😂 The others never stood a chance
56% of audience vote for Angelina when every contestant had their own families and friends there.
46%, but out of TEN contestants! That's 46% for Angelina and 6% for each of the others (obviously not literally).
@@fredneecher1746 My bad, old ears and not understanding the language. Thanks
[Like, no pressure or anything… right?])
In the process, her efforts (and theirs) have built up a significant fanbase (not nearly lagre enough - but that's a whole 'nother discussion).
Thanks for sharing Donald. I have been enjoying reading your comments my friend. You bring a lot of great discussion to the table 🙏🧸
Hi Johnny,
Good, you have taken this version of "I'm a fool to want you"; there is a shorter version because there are 54 seconds cut out. And these 54 seconds are so good - even with speaking in - but the good thing of this version is, that you can't hear that there is something missing: AJ hit exactly the notes even after nearly a minute...

The version, where at 1:13 is the cut where 54 (or 43) sec. are missing and you don't hear it...: ua-cam.com/video/6LIcQL5gLoY/v-deo.html ;-)
And for to review her development you should AFTER reacting to her version on Norske Talenter react to her studio recording footage at 11/12(?) yo: ua-cam.com/video/SGx0djXTXQk/v-deo.html
If I say that this is fantastic it would be underestimate her talent, her musical and vocal abilities…
"Summertime" is originally from the opera (Gershwin was insistent that it is an opera) "Porgy and Bess" from George Gershwin 1934 - the premiere was September 30th1935 and was sung by Abbie Mitchell. The first commercialized recording was sung by Helen Jepson and was recorded Oktober 23rd 1935. In the meanwhile it is a well known jazz standard.
I found these information here: de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Summertime; see also: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Summertime_(George_Gershwin_song)
