Actually a good jumping off point, especially for viewers unfamiliar with Spiritbox. Some might still not be a fan of harsh vocals, but many Metalcore bands often use the harsh to emphasize a portion of the lyrics that speak to something more primal. Courtney certainly does in this band. 🧸

Thought I had commented when this dropped, but it turns out I did so on Patreon where you first released this. As posted there, Aaron said it best where this has the feel of the viewer sitting in a living room taking in a conversation about music. "Happy Never Ending" and "Call it a Fling" are 1000% early 2000's Pop Punk/Emo vibes (not a bad thing as you have opened me to the genre(s)), whereas something like "What's That to You?" and "Exit Plan" have the harder driving edge of the new wave of Pop Punk. Hoping that doesn't come across as criticism from an old metalhead, but someone who is becoming more familiar beyond the "surface songs" by Green Day, Blink among others that had widespread radio play from a couple of decades ago. Jersey, huh? Hahaha. New York's kid brothers and sisters. All tongue in cheek since stereotypes suck, especially when you have folks that consciously choose to be what's expected rather than just being themselves. 🧸

Ari Welkom, aka Avatari is originally out of San Fran and some articles I brushed up on have compared him to Imagine Dragons and Twenty One Pilots stylistically. Video for this is slightly reminiscent of "Somebody I Used to Know" by Goyte featuring Kimbra. 🧸

when she said "the silence in our bed chamber, you make me do to much labour" it sorta talks about how women have to attend to men sexually even if she wants to or not. Like she has to attend to his need no matter her wants, she needs are just ignored. back in ancient Egypt, there were tablets discovered and deciphered and they used to take of a weeks of work just to care and do the work around the house when their wife is on their period, compared to now its just sad how ancient egyptions treated women better than modern men. "I know you are a smart man, and weaponize, the false incompetence, its domince under a guise" this line ties in to purposely ignoring women in a relationship like parenting, when the woman is expected to basically solo parent when the father is still present. its that some men are purposely ignorant to woman needs and wants as if they are a servant to them.

I know someone (my brother's stepson in law) who was in the same jiu-jitsu class with Tony Bourdain in the mid 2010's. Yes, I saw video that proved it. The guitar riff in White Gold is such an earworm for me because it's a really memorable hook. All of their tracks I've heard to this point have a vibe to them that can't be confused with any other artist. I mean the overall sound, since there are vocals that you instantly know who the singer/band are once the lyrics kick in. The Skinner Brothers are the only ones who sound like the Skinner Brothers. 🧸

Second, I believe I can confirm that Petti Hendrix did grab you early in your YT journey, but there were a couple of small bands called The Warning and Band-Maid that debuted before him. All five musicians are excellent, but Miyako is elite. No egos to bruise either, as she and her bandmates blend together and create top shelf Power Metal with each of them having moments to shine equally. Miyako and Midori play enjoyable lead harmonies that remind me of Dave Murray and Adrian Smith in the 80's with Iron Maiden. 🐺🧸

Ideal joint venture from two Norwegian artists. Wardruna's Nordic folk sound blended with Aurora's very pleasing higher register makes this track a great listen. 🧸

Glad you were able to squeeze this one in before the drive down for Thanksgiving with the in-laws. Ren is a treat to listen to with everything he releases. He has the seemingly magical ability to not only make us groove along, but also taps into our emotions and provokes thought. There are others who do that with a track here and there, Ren is one of the few that pulls it off with every drop. 💜🧸

Born in San Francisco, Kiki grew up in Bonn, Germany and Auckland, New Zealand. Interesting way to gain perspective pending on how old she was when her family made the moves. Not too unlike being a "military brat" though I'm not sure if that was the circumstances for her. You're right when you say that the glass ceiling still exists and that artists like Kiki are pointing it out. I also don't see anything wrong with men wanting to swing hammers alongside women to shatter that barrier, in fact, men should feel obliged to be there WITH the ladies. Not doing it for them, but working together to correct stigmas that have existed for far too long as Kiki refers to.

Absolutely perfect execution of the solo by Dany in this version. Pau was inspired to compose this through her reading of "The Hunger Games." This was one of my early favorites when I first discovered DPA for myself. 🦋🧸
