Found you from audio equipment stuff. I wasn't expecting myself to stay through this. There's something about your personality. Quite comforting. Thanks for making content man
If you want an emergency saw option that is not a discontinued SAK, might I suggest a wire saw/commando saw/survival saw? They handle larger sizes of log, etc, which could be more useful for say, clearing a downed tree on a road. They can be as light as 1-2 oz! Whereas I think the Walker mini-saw is more for preparing kindling, tinder, or bushcraft. I love the knife! It has a can opener, useful for a get-home bag. But I don't know if it's the best "emergency" saw.
ooh!!! I'll check those out. I've seen them on kits but wasn't sure what they did. They almost look like garrote wires. Truth be told I can't remember using a saw in my life :D but I do keep the Silky Pocket boy in the bag too :P
Add a poncho and a blanket. My basic kit to go outside has a canteen pouch with the essentials (water container, cordage, cut tools, fire) and a poncho, an afghan blanket, a mylar blanket, tea candles and a sit mat. You sit on the mat, put the blanket, the mylar blanket over it and the poncho over all, Light a candle inside the container and put it between your legs and you have your shelter.
I just realized that I do have a Frogtog in the car. :D I heard military ponchos are great (possibly better ? ) (or same?? ) but wasn't sure if they are the same, better or worse than Frogtogs. I also have black wool blankets (Arcturus Military Wool Blanket) that are laid flat on the trunk of the car. Those would easily add a ton more weight in the bag. Ooh, I'll buy some tea candles.
@@Dracomies the poncho is better, you can mount a complete shelter with one ua-cam.com/video/eXaXwvaailw/v-deo.html or a ranger roll ua-cam.com/video/a0tN0YJN5fU/v-deo.html the best poncho that I know is the poncho hammock from wilderness innovation.
Very good content but one suggestion on your kit. Get a crank radio that gets AM/FM/SB and weather which allows you to charge a phone or computer. Batteries go bad and can be impacted by weather like water/flood or excessive heat or cold.
USB dynamics: AM8, K688, Q2U USB shotgun condenser: Videomic Go2 (don't get the 1, don't get the Micro, get this exact model).Imho the best sounding USB mic, even rivaling XLR setups (sounds better than AT2020+Scarlett). Stay close to it when recording (a fist away).
Which mic would you recommend under €100? Just watched your other video and really liked the fifine k668, is there a mic in that price range that sounds better in your opinion? Would really appreciate your input! Btw, I really like that you keep your videos short and simple :)
K668 and Fifine AM8 are about on par imo. That's the route I would go if you don't have a treated space (and most people don't). And if you 'do' have a treated space, I'd say go XLR and go with a good audio interface and good XLR mic. Otherwise the AM8 will get the job done.
@@Dracomies thanks for the quick answer man, I ordered the am8 after seeing your replay and some more videos, it will arrive today and I honestly cant wait to try it out! :)
The only thing I will go against you on this is your FM radio choice. Good luck trying to receive important weather information when that device doesn't even offer such a thing. I would suggest one of the pocket radios from Sangean instead as that'll give you AM, FM, and WX info all in one. Plus, its still pocketable to put it in a pouch like what you got.
@@Dracomies yeah there's one from Sangean that everyone recommends. I always go safety and knowledge over just for pure entertainment especially when you need a WX radio to be informed in case you get caught in a weather emergency.
