Ok, hear me out on this one. Highram is great for NA engines, long runner length is great for low end. however, under boost it doesn't really have any benefits. The one issue that people have is that the back cylinders tend to lean out more due to the direction of air flow. With boost your air is gonna basically plow into the back of the intake and feed Cylinders 7+8 with more air then the rest. its not massive but most tuners will pull a degree of timing from both rear cylinders and add a bit of fuel to them. not a big issue, can be worked with. However. a top down intake like Holleys (300-255BK with 300-240BK ) Single Plane intake, with a throttlebody and 90 degree elbow would give better air distribution for all the cylinders. Some people love the look, some hate it. Personal taste imho. But it does one big thing for you down the road. If you ever want to run Meth injection you wouldn't have to pick up a direct port kit, a Throttle Body injection kit would have really good distribution without the additional cost. However, these are small advantages. The Height of your HighRam is 12.32 inches, the Single plane intake with flange would hit 12.44 inches which you may be able to get away with with where your engine is placed. looks like the firewall is just behind the midway point. It would be a sick setup IMHO. The Midrise would come to 10.44 inches but if you don't want to do the single plane style intake, id look at the low-ram with a duel fuel rail setup (no need for a meth kit, plus you don't need to do this right away, you can just throw the old truck injectors in to plug the fuel rail/intake manifold and leave the caps on the second fuel rail in place for the future). Why they don't offer the dual injector setup on the highram blows my mind. but. that is a rant for another time. The options for dual fuel are amazing. if you ever go with a Holley Dominator you can honestly tell the computer over 12psi of boost, switch to race gas. Would be amazing. however, you could legit pick up another injector harness from holley and swap the Terminator connector over to the other injector set if you ever wanted to do max effort race gas stuff. But you wouldn't have to drain your main fuel cell to switch fuels. Granted, it would require another set of injectors, small fuel cell, fuel pump, Fuel pressure regulator but how sick would your engine bay look. Maybe Holley will come through and sponsor you with a Dominator so you can do exactly that. If not, i'll find a way to use a signal output from the terminator to activate a switch that switches what injector harness is being used. Food for thought. (forgot to say, you have to remember your engine is gonna buck/flex when under load. so need alittle bit of room for things to move)
Great info man! I'm definitely gonna consider what you said👍 appreciate it. Once I get the cab situated and start measuring, I'll see if a mid ram is a better fit. I'll definitely be setting up something for race gas but haven't decided what to do just yet! Thanks again👍👍
i feel like a mid or low rise intake would be a good solution, i like the idea of leaving as much firewall as possible but you’re the one building!
We'll see what I can come up with this week! Might be the only option 👍
I’m working on getting a 1970 C10 on the road right now. Seeing your progress and how you’re overcoming issues is helping you keep me motivated. Keep it up!
Glad to hear it! Thank you very much and Keep it up as well 👍👍
Mid rise is what I would do. Keep up the good work. I really enjoy seeing your progress and the ways you overcome obstacles.
Thank you very much! I'll see what the best option is this week👍
Wow it is going to be tight. Still the coolest C10 on UA-cam!
Appreciate it man! It's gonna be quite something that's for sure🤙
Leave the hi rise intake and trim some of that upper firewall away. As long as you only take away a few inches it wont cause issues with anything. You MIGHT have to make a custom wiper setup but its worth it to keep that hi rise intake.
Dude! If you could possible do hood exhaust for them turbos. That ish would be insane! Seein some massive flames coming out the hood would be amazing!
If you ever UA-cam, LS3 twin turbo BMW. The flames are insane. Something like that though. (exhaust wise)
10:55 I had the exact same problem with that exact same tool. So I flipped it and it worked perfectly! Try that next time. Good build man. Looks badass 👌🏼
I've tried numerous times and no luck! My new tool should be coming soon so I'm hoping it's easier! Thank you very much man👍
Man I like the look of that high ram and like someone said you can make it fit. That engine looks ferocious lol
Great work look forward to hear it run
Thank you Russell! I love the high ram look! I'll see if I can make it work👍it's gonna be exciting to hear it start that's for sure!
Badd ass build man wow come a long way from the start
Thank you very much!
Go mid ram and call it good. Your boosted, so youll have plenty of velocity and off seat flow. What you lose in peak number, you'll gain through the middle and low end where you'll actually be driving most of the time.👍
If I have to cut more than an inch, I will order the mid ram. Valid point, thanks man👍
Fantastique Alec! I love following the progress! Great narration and video work also! Beautiful work!! 👏👏👏😍
Thank you Louise! Appreciate it😁
cut the firewall and run that highrise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! looks badass , the trucks already cut and modified, cut it some more and use what you got!!!!!!!!!
Very true👍😅
New intake!
I would definitely go with the ultra lo ram, it looks sick and saves a huge amount of room. My build is a 408 small block Ford and my only real option is the hi ram due to the stock distributor location and I know I’m going to hate it sticking out of the hood already.
It may happen! Sounds like a wicked build man👍
Looks crazy good 😍 💯👍🏽
Thank you very much👍👍
Tough break, stay the course with your build
Always a challenge but always staying the course! Thanks for the support as always👍👍
Mod firewall 👍
I've only ever used those ring compressors and they're a pain but always work in the end?
Wind it up nice and tight on the piston, drop piston in with big end crank journal furthest away position, tap top edge of ring compressor with a hammer to sit it even down on the block, keep pushing the compressor down against the block so hard you almost cut your hand until the piston is in, and tap the piston in with the wooden/plastic handle end of your hammer. If you feel any hard resistance stop and start again, but you should be able to make it work.. thats a very common type of ring compressor...
Sick build btw 👌
I've got a new tool on the way so I'm just going to try that. Thank you very much man🤙
That would be a tough choice, I think you should space up the cab, and cut some of the firewall as well to gain your clearance.
I'm gonna try out a few things tomorrow! Hopefully I can make it work👍 thank you!
purely from ticktock for you page and I subscribed already 😇
Nice Broo.. From Malaysia here support you Broo.. 👏👏🤝
Thank you for the support👍👍
Go with the high model and make it fit. You can do it we all know you can
Hopefully, I like the look! We'll see what I can do🤙
I think a low rise intake will do bro ❤❤
Might happen👍
Yooo!! Alec, engine is looking great bro!!!! So stoked for this build!!! Maybe you can order one of those funnel type ring compressor sleeve things.. Not sure of correct name 😂 Ive been following your channel since youve had 1k subs, and its so awesome to see you getting the growth and views that you deserve bro!! Keep crushing it!!
Hey Dusty!! Thank you man! That's exactly what I did and it should be here soon👍 hopefully it works better lol. I appreciate all the support bro, it's awesome that you stuck around for so long haha. Keep up the great work as well!
What’s up from the SF Bay Area, you know your stuff bro. Im working on a 98 Chevy obs, great modivation old school lowrider
What's up man!! Thank you👍 good luck with the 98 chev, they are cool trucks!
Cut the firewall! I'm sure you can come up with a solution, it'll look amazing!!!
Thank you man!🤙
Dude! That engine looks fuckin sick. This is about to be one amazing build once finished. Keep up the hard work my guy! Hearing that thing start up for the first time is going to be insane !
I can’t wait for the first start! thank you very much man👍 gonna keep at it for sure!
@@ag_trucks damn man. I’m lookin at vehicles to purchase once I recover from this motorcycle accident n I always end typing, “Twin turbo C10” and your channel pops up and I see the progress that’s been made n I see the outcome once it is finished. You got some mad Fuckin skills n drive n ambition towards this project. Salute to you bringing us along for a ride through this journey of enjoyable knowledge. 🫡🍻
Sorry to hear about your accident man! I appreciate all that, thank you very much👍 it's awesome to share my passion with my youtube family who are interested in similar things! Thanks again for all the support, it goes a long way🤙
Mid or low rise would be my thoughts. Still will look good and you will not need to cut the firewall.
Very true!
Looks amazing! High Ram looks bad ass but not very practical for the amount of mods needed for proper clearance, I would go with mid height. I really do not think you will be loosing any performance and possibly gaining some! Hopefully you can get full return credit for the High Ram. Cheers, Ray
The high ram was mainly for looks but a mid ram would be fine too! Once I get the cab set right, I'll see if a new intake will be easier or if the high ram will do!
Sweet jesus, i couldn't imagine filing piston rings without the 40$ tool for it.
The tool is nice! I'm just building this engine the "budget way" to see how tough they really are 😅
Move the engine forward before you cut the firewall. I think you have plenty of room before you cross the front wheel axis. The transmission is going to take up some cab space as well if you don't move it forward.
There's plenty of room but I want the engine as far back as possible for weight👍
@agtrucks I know you're going for weight distribution, but all you need to do is keep it behind the front axle line.
Iam here after watching from ticktok
Welcome to the channel 👍👍
from tiktok here😂
Welcome to the channel! Thank you!
No point in a high rise intake with forced induction.
What beautiful truck bro, hey what size of tires and rims has ?
Wheels are 15x10 aero in the rear with 325/50r15 nitto nt555r2 tires and up front it's vision D window 16x8 rims with 265/50r16 toyo proxes r888r
You have a lot of room, maybe a different set of engine mount brackets so it sits more forward and not so close to the firewall
I'd like to keep the engine as far back as possible to have the weight closer to the center of the truck 👍
What’s the final color gonna be or are you gonna leave it bare bc I’ve seen both styles, personally I think a black with red metal flake would look really aggressive
It's gonna be white, black would look good but I already have a black c10 and it's hard to keep clean lol
I have built 40+ engines using that exact piston install tool. They are simple to use. So something in your trchnique was off.
I don't doubt it but for some reason, I could not get that piston in. I've tried numerous times with different techniques and no luck. My new too is on the way so I'm just going to wit for that one👍
Did you say you moved the cab forward? If so, maybe move the engine mounts forward?
The engine is moved back to go in the cab. I want to get the engine as far back as I cab for weight distribution
@@ag_trucks ok I gotta cha. Great idea on the weight distribution. Can't wait to see what's next on your build. Peace ✌
Are you going to be installing a handbrake in this truck or no?
Absolutely 🤙 Hydraulic handbrake for maximum fun!
You do not need a high ram for a turbo build. You need air volume and not necessarily air velocity. Get a shorter intake
I know the high ram may not be the best for low-mid power but I like the look and with the weight of this truck and 2 turbos, I'm not going to be missing power anywhere lol. Valid point though👍
Yo add twin turbo
It's coming!🤙
So it's been about 2 and a half years ,right, what's taking so long, I don't mean to be rude 🤔 😊
do an x pipeee
for more horse powerssssssss
We'll see! I might do straight pipe out of the turbos to a hood exit
Maybe a stupid question but... 😂Why is your enige so close to the cab? Must it not sit more closer out? 😅
It's to move the weight closer to the center of the truck for better handling
@@ag_trucks I feel like an idiot 😅thanks for teaching me something
Not a stupid question! Thanks for watching 👍👍
Believe that Chapdog
Yeah, shorter intake....
May have to do it! I'm gonna measure up some stuff before ordering anything though👍
@@ag_trucks Yep, Woodworkers say, "Measure Twice, Cut Once!"
Lol put the low intake dude🤦🏻
May have to haha
Where is your accent from?
A small French town In Nova Scotia, Canada
Oh dope. Are you doing this in Canada?
Yup! In Nova Scotia
