I just recently purchased Yamaha dsx15xlf subwoofer it's pricey but it's worth every penny.
Every place seems out of stock. Found a pair at B&H Photo, ordered them before they were gone there too! After I did, they now say not in stock until January 2020. So glad I pulled the trigger when I did, haven't heard anything but positives about these speakers.
Dick Fantastic how are you liking your pair?
@@djosvani I've never had a set of pro audio speakers before, so I really don't have anything to base this off of except for a comparison to my own home speakers or other pro audio speakers I've heard from time to time, so keep that in mind.
Took a bit to break them in and get the woofers loosened up, after that the bass came alive a bit. Still needs a sub to get down where I like it with authority, but again I come from an environment where I"ve packed way too much subwoofer in a small space and have to turn them down to get flat response.
I like them, I like them a lot. They are loud and astoundingly clear at full volume, and I don't think I've gotten anywhere close to the limit. They sound very tight and lively compared to my home setup and I can't perceive any distortion when they get loud. I'm surprised with how light they are for the size, but don't take that to mean they aren't well built. I guess the only thing I have to say about that is I don't really like the speaker pole mount thing on the bottom. I don't know if this is how they all come, but it's barely a fingers depth deep and has a cheesy plastic insert surrounded by more plastic. Never really feels solid up on a pole like I'd like it, and I have a pretty decent set of stands by Gator Frameworks. They just don't seem to mate well, so I ended up wrapping a piece of Gorilla Tape around the pole mount on the stand so at least it goes together tighter.
Great......
What kind of Grill is on the front? It looks fabric like a house speaker. Doesn't look very road worthy. I would hope not on a speaker of this price range.
they have a regular metal grille beneath the fabric one

YAMAHA .
some of the greatest speakers on the market for its pricepoint - sadly the fabric front is a desaster for the road. like they made everything perfect and then f*cked up such an important detail. No idea who created this front.
I was about to order this Sub and saw your comment. Then I did some more research and realized the Yamaha did indeed f*** up on the front fabric. I am absolutely shocked someone could think of putting a fabric in front a professional sub. I will wait for Yamaha to fix this or look at some other brand.
It's actualy good for home use or maybe make you guys take care of the speakers more becarefull . Good sound should have a good care 🤣
How to Parchaj in india
THE SUBS SOUND GREAT, BUT THEY LOOK PRETTY BAD. IN FRIST PLACE THE SHOULD PUT A COMPLETE PIECE GRILL. ONE COMPLETE PIECE, NOT OPEN PORTS SHOWING UP. THEY LOOK PRETTY UGLY. SECOND PLACE THE MATERIAL OF THE EXTERNAL CUSHION GIRL IT IS JUST A MAGNET FOR DUST, HUMIDITY AND SCRATCHES IF NOT BROKEN LEATHER.
I MEAN, YOU ARE YAMAHA A PRO AUDIO COMPANY. AND YOU PUT A PIECE OF UNPROTECTED LEATHER IN FRONT OF A SUB. FOR "TOURING MUSICIANS" ( AS YOU SAI IN YOUR WEB SITE).
COME ON, THIS IS A HUGE MISTAKE AND A BIG DISSAPOINMENT.
y r u yelling
Sub Freq range 33Hz-150Hz.. why LPF only go as high as 120Hz?
