- Two uncommon silver coins are dug by Evan G. of Oklahoma. He watches the ground and listens to the detector for telltale signs of long-forgotten home sites. This was Evan's first full day of relic hunting with the AT Pro.

Finding anything valued at "hundreds" or "thousands" is rare - very rare. However, most of us who are passionate about this hobby don't do it for any monetary gain. We do it because we love history, "old stuff", and the outdoors.
thank you for not saying HOLY F,,, or HOLY S... or any other cus words ! this was nice to watch w/ my son ! thx !!! and we went out and bought our first detector yesterday !
i just bought a garrett AT Pro and a pro pointer back in february,.. i can't say enough of how well made this machine is. i wish i bought one sooner. Thank you garrett. :-)
WOW unreal. that's a nice 3 cent silver piece. Congrats on the Half dime also. I still haven't dug a 3 cent yet.
lol.....Love that adrenalin rush! There is nothing like old silver in the hole. Nice finds!
Three cent silver,nice.
That is one great find, Thanks for the video!
Interesting finds. Thanks for the video!
I love that 3c piece!! Congrats on the super hunt!
Now that I'm old enough to retire ,I want to try metal detecting ! Very informative video! Thanks for posting. Howard white, Columbus OH, 4-30-2013
some advice, carry a bottle of water and a large white plastic pill bottle like an asprin bottle. its really handy to drop your find in and give it a mild shake to clean it. and the white plastic bottles wont damage your coins if you are reasonably careful while shaking. ( you arent making a cocktail, you are just giving it a swish around to rinse the mud off. all detailed cleaning should be done at home )
Thanks for taking us along on your great outing,
I have been researching the transcontinental RR. There were many camps along the way. I have found a few sites using old maps and journals. Research sure pays off.
best to you

In Argentina i used to dig holes in my backyard as a kid, found so many coins, at least 200. List
Great Find...congrats
heha.....nice find, exciting.
Go watch Evan's other videos. This guy knows what he is doing. He works hard for his finds and has no need to fake finds.
AWESOME coin finds... that trime is very high on my wish list...
Thanks Jane.. It is a very good machine for the price.. I recommend the 5x8 coil to help complement this machine.. it is great in the heavy trash...
Dude a trime! Outstanding!
Thanks so much for this video. I have been wanting a metal detector, ever since I read about a guy that finds lost jewelry for people. I would love to start a Recovery service for this type of venture. This is so Awesome !
That's awesome!
thanks guys.. I am really impressed with the two AT machines, and that 5x8 ProFormance coil is a must have..... Im still in shock from the two coins.. We were surrounded by cedar trees, it was like Christmas came early!!!

Nice finds. Just found an 1852 3cent piece 2 days ago. The very same way in the woods ,except mine was about 4 inches down.
Ive been hunting for a few months now and Ive found some cool stuff but nothing older than a 1918 penny i cant wait to find some old old silver coins i definitely got the fever :) ...thanks for the awesome videos at least i can come home after a not so good hunt and watch someone else find something good :)
glad you think so.. come go hunt with me in Oklahoma.. most of the silver comes out of the ground just like that..
Nice!
That's like a 50-80 dollar coin.
I found one of those 3 cent nickel in 1954 under our house in Michigan when I was a small boy
3 cent pieces are kind of rare find--I've never found one though I've found half dimes and seated liberty dimes, etc. Congrats on finding that 3 center man!
Good to see digging technique.
Get my Ace 250 tomorrow
i love how when you pretend to pass out the pinpointer flat lines
I just brought an AT pro Int.. waiting on it to get to Australia.. will have fun..
Luvin it - have some field now and have done 2 beaches
not found nutin !!!!
A couple of pounds at most.
Cool
I was just thinking the same thing!!!! lol
Sweet. Funny a detector isn't doesn't know his coins. I remember my 1st one. I was shocked!
Im getting nervous there mite not be any treasure left for me! xD
The first coin is a 3 Cent silver or also known as a Trime. I found one a few days ago in an open filed here in Delaware with my AT Pro. Rings in like a nickel and smaller than a dime. Nice find...
Nice 3 cent coin, I have found a couple also
I have the pro, the 350 and a few others. To be honest for ease of use, portability, and ruggedness the 350 is unbeatable. The Pro is more versatile if you are into searching water, but out of my 5 machines ( some costing up to almost $3000 usd ), my ACE 350 has found more than all the others combined.
the old silver coins are saying "please don't rub us"!
Way to go Evan - that AT Pro is an amazing machine, that's for sure!
If your finding coins like that you hit a great spot.
Funny thing. I just found an 1852 3 cent piece in a union camp.
its a fish scale. i found one a few years ago. happy hunting
you may have a high acid level in the ground water in your area, causing the discoloration, because every silver I have found were all still shiny like that.
Great finds so what was that one coin with III on it.
My friend you have found a SHILLING, A nice pure silver refined shilling. The number is 196 which is probably the batch of a group made. Notice the star, most of the Shillings have a star if they where made in 1700's. Shillings usually have large Roman numbers. My guess is its worth is $120,000.00 too a good buyer. But, I am no expert. Send it off get it appraised.
how do you clean your coins??
i soooo wanted the pro but my $ is limited but my new 350 comes on wednesday!
Wow...really cool finds; any idea what that 1st coin is? Would love to field test a Garrett AT Pro for Garrett in the Reading, PA area. Merry Christmas and a Happy Hunting New Year!
8-) Gary
go to my channel and watch some of my other videos.. I am in oklahoma, the dir is usually black and hardly ever have a discoloration.. the ones that do were either right on the surface, were in the water, or had been in a fire...
That's why the house doesn't still stand. They lost too much money :p
If I'm right silver doesn't oxidize unless chemicals are used on it. Silver does tarnish but doesn't oxidize
where you found these coins, was there an old house there at one time? great finds!!!!
how much does a pinpointer cost and the metal dect?
I+m wondering about the condition of this silver coin. In everytme I found silver coins, there were nearly black/green from oxidation. Even a small bar of silver I found in a river was oxidated, can´t explain why his coins are so clean.
i carry a small bottle of rinse water i just twist off the top drop the coin in shake the bottle and presto clean coin i can use it on about 20 coins then change water
i'm think of getting detector also, not sure what brand to get or how much to spend.
Please post anything exciting you find. :)
Nice 3 cent piece. If you ever get an 1863-1873, you've gotten a better coin as they are a lot rarer. Great find. Value is around $20-$50. Of corse silver price and time can change that. Great find...
Sorry you thought it was fake.. the only time I have found a tarnished coin was either when there was a fire or it was in the water.. Been doing this for 28 years and don't need to fake anything.. :)
sorry im new to this, but once you find things like this, u sell them? and if so how much would something like this be worth ?
I found one a three cent piece on our farm in michigan in 1954 it is dated 1863
how do you like your Ace 250?
Actually they were considered a nickel as they were between a penny and a dime. And of course they are silver. I found mine here in central Florida. There was no activity here except for the 3rd Seminole Indian War.
wait till you find a coin you've never seen before.. its just a passion...
nice half dime
you find out what kinda coin you got there??? that 1852 one?
you can get a at pro on ebay new for 549 and a pro pointer for 125 bucks
A three cent nickel!
around here those coins are common .
what d a crap is that! its a key to the portal of another dimension!
The 1st coin was a silver 3 center.
any of those 3cent peices are rare value 25$
Air Medified lol
I presume you dont want to scratch or abrade them with dirt
"im shaki'n!"
Why cant rub the coins ?
thanks Joe... He finds enough silver coins in our soil he might hafta eat some crow...
AT Pro Metal Detector..... $699.95 (U.S.)
PRO-POINTER Pinpointing Metal Detector..... $149.95 (U.S.)
For more information visit garrett.com
That is a 1852 3 cent coin..
A 3 cent peice
rapid test .wire. pipe power detector from most hardware stores £14
Its taking the face off the coin and just destroying it
the small scratches you put on the surface of a silver coin show up under magnification, knocking potential value, especially if an old and desirable coin. Watch some other vids by lookingforseated or guys that knows their old coins and you will see them rinse with water and no rubbing. I know it's tempting to try to see what you have, but resist the urge. The coin you save, may be your own!
