Wow thanks for sharing..I'm glad I was bored and decided to look this up! What a weird setup for filter and plug. I just got this car. 2004 with 90k miles. One person owner. 900 bucks. I'm a truck guy and it's my first car I've ever owned and I got it for my 1 hour commute each way to work. It's saved me Soo much gas money and it drives like a gokart lol. I just had to tint my windows dark so my truck buddies wouldn't see me riding round town in a chick car. 🤣 Thanks man

@@liquidsunshine697 I just bought one from a chick and the color is some combination of pumpkin orangish and poop tan, but with gas pushing $5.00 it's looking like a tiny little gold mine sitting in that driver seat.

Anytime I've ever done a cartridge filter change like that I've always put a quart or 2 in the engine at the canister site. Not sure if it helps but it seems to

That would help, yes. It would eliminate an extra second of run time without oil pressure. If your car had been recently running there should be residual oil on all the surfaces, but that is a good extra step for protecting your engine.

He's WRONG! It takes a full 5 quarts for that 2.2 motor ! After your new oil filter absorbs the a part of the half-court but the owner's manual calls for 5 quarts

Yep. You’re right. It fits a full 5. I did that wrong but I also check the oil often enough that I never let it get low.

@@iowadiy6361 I am very glad to know that you check your oil often I do the same on mine I'm getting ready to change my oil that's how I know how much oil the Chevrolet Cavalier hold I've only had mine for a couple of months and I try to find out as much as I can on every vehicle that I get thank you for your video however I found it most knowledgeable except for the one mistake please keep the videos coming I am interested in finding a transmission filter change and replace do you think you would be doing one of them in the future?

Unfortunately not on the Chevy cavalier. It’s my roommates car and he is looking to sell it so that we can move to a new house. I am looking at getting a new daily driver soon so I will actually probably be doing a new trans filter/fluid soon within the next couple months. It’ll be similar, but probably not the same
