  • Here at the Sacramento History Museum, we are in the middle of our busy school field trip season! This includes keeping up the stock on some of the handouts we give to schools that participate in our Gold Rush Program, which includes a print shop presentation.
In this video, Howard uses our Chandler & Price jobbing press for a press run and prints 500 handouts in a reflex blue rubber base ink.

So much more elegant than clicking BCC on an email. Beautifully sophisticated, simply beautiful.

Pretty sweet being able to really "use" the old machines, instead of just demos your still actively doing print jobs.

Wonderful machine. Relaxed, smooth and absolutely sovereign doing it's job with all it's power and strongness.

WOW, I use to be a letterpress operator. Printing business cards, raffle tickets, church giving envelopes, even event tickets for my high school. The press was electric though. Loved those days.

What is the name of this neat press. It looks like a hand operated one in your short videos.

why the fuck am I seeing these videos? I was a printer for over 40 years, even had a 1897 letterpress in my basement powered by a 1918 General Electric motor. I'm done, don't even want to think or be reminded of printing anymore!

Then next time one of the videos is recommended to you, tell youtube you don't want to see it anymore. Neither the museum nor the people working there chose to put this video on your feed, nor did they force you to click on it or watch it, so there's no need to leave nasty for them.
