Regarding the name swearing. The Hartmut, Bertram situation highlights the difference between Loyalty (Hartmut), and Obedience (Bertram). The name sworn CANNOT disobey, but there is a world of difference between the Loyal Servant, the Slave that Obeys, and the Traitor that does not Disobey.
The part where Rozemyne and Elvira have the heart to heart was so good. The only possible way they could have another is whenever Rozemyne has a child and Elvira visits her.
AOB is really a series that continues to blow the roof off with every single book release, gonna be devastated and have bad bookworm withdrawals once the books end 😭
@@karieb1859please give recommendations! I’m about to finish the series after spending over 2 months reading it nonstop so I really need something to look forward to!
Normally I'd be listening to this to go to bed, but this one is looooong. Also if you all do the next chit chat like this, I want to try and get in lol. I need to join all the things. Also, is it just me or has every volume for the past few been dookie hitting the fan? Its crazy how ever volume can manage to throw more at it. This train has no brakes.
These are a lot of fun to listen to and I always learn something that I missed on my read through the novel and get to see how different parts of the Bookworm community see different characters. Admittedly, I did not pay close enough attention to the Detlinde POV to notice she was drugged. I first saw the illustration when spoiling myself using the bookworm wiki looking at the illustrations, it allows me to come up with theories and confirm my favorite characters are safe, and when I first saw this I thought it was Benno and the Klassenberg merchant girl and was happy to finally get a short story on that relationship. Something I find fascinating by the author is the ability to show character perspectives and have them state what they believe to be factual and be wrong. For those that read the short story collection of material left out of the novels from Part 1 through 4 it is revealed that Eckhart did not turn down the opportunity to be Wilfried's guard knight and it was Karstedt discovering that he was only going to accept to get a chance to murder Veronica and convinced him to drop it somehow. Elvira does not mention this and from how she speaks to Rosemyne in the hidden room it seems she has no idea. The novel had several hilarious moments but my personal favorite was Rosemyne's thought when learning of Philine's plans to do a Clarissa style proposal "I really hope you like knives, Damuel". Damuel's reaction when told by Rosymyne that he should take the initiative if he does not want that to happen and that it would make Philine and Elvira happy was a close second, "Being in one of Lady Elvira's books is more than enough for me!" I am kind of surprised that no one talked more on my favorite part which is Lieseleta's side story. Rosemyne asking to come with her was adorable you will not find me arguing but I was struck with the sense that I did not appreciate Lieseleta enough for all she does and has done. That she deserves better from whoever is her fiancé is indisputable and I will debate anyone on that. She keeps herself, purposely, in the background but is such a strong supporting force I understand perfectly why Elvira wants her by Rosemyne's side. Elvira also does the most noble threat to her father I think we have ever seen "You would do well to keep this to yourself" consequences did not even need to be listed. The best part for Lieseleta is that Elvira is going to play bully ball and make her fiancé and his family break off the engagement so she does not end up with the same social standing that Bridgette struggled with in Part 3. Rosemyne has stated that Muriella has told her that Lieseleta is popular with the boys and not just from Ehrenfest. She will not struggle to find suitors in the Royal Academy but being head attendant to Rosemyne will mean that socializing time will be limited.
Didn't find this in the video list like the other light novel chit chats, but I found it finally in the live tab! Always need a refresher before starting the next volume
As for favorite parts of the volume. I think the most interesting parts to me was 1) The plotting between Barthold and Hartmut and 2) Magic Tools for Children was interesting getting to learn the perspectives of Dirk & Konrad was nice. And finally 3) Wilfred finally speaking out instead of the old "NOT fair" but actually saying what his problem is.
The heart to heat between Elvira and Rozemyne was very special, the way it read was that for the first time Rozemyne realized what an opportunity was missed in their relationship. The way I interpreted Elvira's revelation is that she was told that Rozemyne was a commoner but that she worked out who Rozemyne's parents and other lower city relations were from the evidence
[Rozemyne acts like a tyrannical gremlin] Everyone: (sigh) I guess we have to deal with this now... [Everything turns out better for everyone] Everyone: Huh...
This part has my second favorite scene in the series: Elvira and Rozemyne in the secret room. I read the webnovel so I was braced for it, but still... that last line had me tearing up.
A thought about Ferdinand teaching Rosemyne how to brew. For him, it was an essential skill turned hobby (obsession), to make sure he was safe from other nobel's scheming; in effect, it became a survival skill. Passing this skill on to Romsemyne could be seen a survival skill for a commoner girl turned nobel to survive a hostile environment. He wasn't teaching her, he was preparing her for a worse case scenario.
Didnt know i missed hearing y'all talking for 4h straight... Imma dig in minecraft while agreeing with all of ur opinions tyvm! x') Also, kuddos for doing those sessions! Thanks
Don't forget that the Succession was cause chaos in Jurgenschmidt, Trauerqual the 5th Prince who was raised as a attendance became the new King. His only remaining quality he survived his 4 older sibling some of them where poisoned. Like the parents of Eglantine the third prince. Aub Klassenberg Eglantine Grand-Father's raised her. Finally the 3 boys of trauerqual (Sigiswald, Anasthasius and Hildebrand (Magdelena's from Drunkenflegel Son)
Regarding Wilfried, we have to remember that he was raised for years by Veronica so his learning curve is behind everyone else. Also, he has never had a choice in his future it was chosen for him. Everything from his job to his wife. The pressure for a 12yr old boy is immense.
Glad to see this early. Always feels like a rush to watch it when it’s one day before the new volume. On the name sworn issues. While clearly the name swearing isn’t being used as originally intended, Wilfried suffers from not knowing how to use it properly. We saw in this volume how Rozemyne uses it to her advantage. Charlotte is smart and probably uses it much like Rozemyne. Wilfried suffers from not being as tactical as the girls. As for Philine and Konrad. I read it as Konrad saying noble society failed him and Philine while the temple saved them. It didn’t seem like he thought anything bad of her, just of other nobles that aren’t part of the Rozemyne crew. It’s interesting how Dirk and Konrad are counterparts. One is a commoner becoming a noble, and one is a noble basically becoming a commoner. They also represent different sides of Rozemyne and the choice she probably wished she had gotten.
I was actually shocked and saddened when Fran chose to stay automatically in the temple when previously he said that if either Lady Rozemyne or Lord Ferdinand were to ask him to leave he would!! I was totally expecting him to jump at the chance to say I'll join you Rozemyne, instaed it was written almost as of it was that event never happened! 😢😢😢
I think the problem is Fran would not want to serve under Immanuel or the royal High Bishop, and would rather stay with Melchoir. But I think if that was the case Fran could at least have "thought" that!
You also have to remember that he said that “if they requested it” But She isn’t great at putting that forward. Plus tbh, the story in a way has moved past him by this point. It is sad, but he is just a attendant for the temple. There is only so much he knows despite his skill. Maybe one day she would return to get him, but it is doubtful.
I remember reading part 3 vol 1 when Rozemyne was having to meet all the powerful nobles for the first time and the air of intimidation I felt meeting Florencia for the first time. Now it's "oh, it's just Florencia. Who cares?"
The various duchies seem to have their own respective dominant traits (research for Drewanchel, elegance for Klassenberg, etc). So is Ehrenfest the duchy of weirdos?
Behold our latest weirdo.... THE SAINT! I think Ehrenfest is the duchy of the genius. The singularly capable. The reason their rank was so low is more due to the fact that the exhibited traits didn't (Or weren't forced to) affect / benefit the duchy as a whole.
@@adamjenkins7653 genius:weirdo::tuh-may-toe:tuh-mah-toe, I guess. Ehrenfest certainly seems to have a large amount of obsessively focused individuals (even among the commoners). So what I said was true; from a certain point of view.
I am starting to think that Arensbach supporters are trying to gaslight and isolate Wilfried from his family to place him as their « puppet aub » later on. And they are creating chaos with the Leisengang faction so they can put Wilfried on the throne by force.
I vote for Wilfried as second husband to Hannelore! BTW Hartmut is Rosemine's worshipper, and that's creepy. As for name-swearing, it would not surprise me if all of Detlinde's vassals are namesworn to her, and she doesn't want to listen to anyone so they don't have to tell her anything!
I imagine Hannelore making a Dunkelfelger proposal to Wilfried, and imposing him the condition to become the Aub (of a duchy resulting of the splitting of Ahrensbach?) if he wants to marry her. (Oh yeah! Let’s make Wilfried the Aub of Werkestock. Let him face reality).
Wilfred's parents did him a major disserve to him, once they knew he wasn't up to standard his parents should have stepped up. They should have gotten rid of all his retainers that were problematic swipe them out.
Yeah, if he hasn't been told how to deal with secretly disloyal retainers from his Grandma, how is he supposed to know that they are messing with his head?
The problem i have with florensia is that it isnt exactly shown what she does most of the time in stark contrast to elvira wich does faction work, printing stuff, shown her own fangirling of ferdinant ect. Sadly as a readyer despite being adoped by the acducal copple you get the feeling as far as noble socity goes elvira is still acting as her mom were before there was a much clearer cut. You could say thats due to the transition from comoner to noble if they not constantly reinforce that now that ferdinant is in Arensbach she should stop caring so much for him. While we see a bit more about her in the last few books her impresion in contrast to other character remains quite weak.
I assume that Ferdinand and to some extent. Veronica gave a list of commands at the start of the process to protect themselves from Close NAME SWOREN Individuals .
1:28:50 Georgine is definitely a terrible mother, but she is a great villainess. She a bad bitch, and I mean that in the best of ways, though Elvira is the baddest bitch 👌🏾
