If only i lived in california i would never go to any other expensive branded shoe shop, i would make it a tradition for my family and my coming generations to buy shoes only from brian the boot maker... Absolutely gold craftsmanship my dude...
Fantastic piece of craftsmanship. Man, I don't know why but I relax witching your videos and your calm voice. Can't wait to see the rest of this boot done.
brian,i was a bootmaker for a well known upper end western boot company, but you have me beat all to hell and back.you can do anything, and do it well.this old man enjoys your videos.keep up the great work.
My man Brian is literally the Mr Roger's of boot making , you absolutely love him and everything he does . Wish him and his mentor and their families the absolute best in everything that they wish and do !
Brian there really is somthing about watching you videos that is so satisfying. I watch your videos and it makes me want another pair of boots. The craftsmanship is amazing. Boot cobblers/makers are a dieing breed. Thank you for keepimg it alive. Wish you were closer.
Brian, It does my heart good to see a young man SO passionate and skilled in a craft that’s trying to fade away..... I really miss doing shoe repair, and I always wanted to make boots ..... I have done most everything in the making process....just never on the same pieces of leather! Skiving in itself is an art! I wait anxiously every week to see what you come up with next. I will visit you someday.... Your Sole Brother Bob in Colorado
Brian, keep up the good work! I too look forward for the videos every week. Thank you for the in depth detail on how how craft your wonderful art. Plan on ordering my boots from you as well, just not sure of the style yet. M-42 or Underdogs. Again thank you from Phoenix Arizona.
Hello! I am truly impressed by your workmanship and passion for what you make! I own a pair of red wing heritage 1907’s that I like, and I feel they are well made boots, but yours are next level! I’d love to own a pair of your boots someday. Keep up the good work.
So the Quote by St . Francis is ...He who works with his hands is a laborer. He who works with his hands AND head is a Craftsman... But ..He who works with his hands , head AND heart is an ARTIST ! ....this my friend fits YOU ! 🔨
Brilliant, great craftsmanship and excellent videos, even have my 90 year old father ex boot and clog maker watching them he is amazed at your steady hand.
Brian, At 7:09 you tied off the chainstitch. I have been searching the internet for how to do that knot and finish the chainstitch. You did it fast and made it look easy. I will have to study your technique carefully to master it myself. You probably are amused by the things that you all day long and which are so profound to the rest of us.
Massive talent! I find the idea of having a pair of hand made boots very appealing; it’s all in the personal touch! I’m looking forward to the rest of the boot being made.
Love this dedication you have for your shoes.. i'm definitely going to visit your shop next month.. thank you for fine craftsmanship. I'll save my pennies. Those Underdogs are AMAZING!
Thanks for sharing this with us. It’s fascinating to watch a handcrafted boot come to life. I’m sure I speak for many in saying that if you keep posting these we’ll keep watching!
Great stuff as always, Brian. Do you ever get a boot wrong? What happens to a boot if it doesn't go to plan? I imagine it rarely happens! Much love from the UK!
Thousand likes and not unlikes, rare! Love the shot of your shop, looks chaotic but I'm sure you know where everything is(?) That hand skiving requires a steady hand.
I often wonder if the breathability of leather footwear is defeated by rubber cement. I have watched some videos where every single piece is slathered with so much rubber cement that in the end I doubt there is any part of the foot that is not encased, essentially, in rubber. In other words, there is no path from the foot through the shoe that does not have to pass through a layer (or 2 or 3) of thick rubber cement. Or do I misunderstand what the glue is? Does it "breathe."
Excelente mi estimado Richie Valenz ...hiciste lo que sabía que puedes hacer.. zapatos. Felicidades y si, un vídeo en español ...de la vieja escuela de zapateros
Yes, please more videos. I had been asking for a video like this. I wanted a video of you making a pit of custom boots. Love all your videos and hope to own a pair of those right there one day. Also have some redwings that need some attention. Hopefully I can come by sometime. 🥓
