Really interesting help full video picking up my T6 T32 Friday definitely will be going with the navis wheels with the size you recommend as for suspension at least ive got a option
Great video, and super detailed on the different tyre width/profiles.👍 Just to be clear though, increasing the diameter of your wheels/tyres will cause the speedo under read, meaning you will be going faster than the speedo is saying, not slower.
Yes you are totally right. I've just watched that back and thats how it sounds. What I should have said is when the speedo says you are doing 56 miles an hours, you're actually doing 60mph.
Top class video as always. Watched it with interest as I have a T32 (Camper) and I have issues with my set up. I'm currently running the standard 17" davenports that you mention in your vid. At the start of my build for a quick fix I dropped it 40mm from standard just on springs. My issue is now converted I feel ever pot hole / drain cover like I have bottomed out. What setup would you recommend for Max comfort but still having a slightly lowered look.
Once again Great Video. I really enjoy watching them all. Is it possible you could do a simpler Video for a lifting kit for a T6.1 T32, including what wheels and tyers that are best to be used.

Just coming across this video and been VERY helpful.👌🏽 Hopefully you can help answer a few questions though? 🙏🏼 1- Firstly what is the height of this particular van has been lowered and is it sitting at the full 70mm lowered setting? 2- What is the comfort level like with this particular suspension and wheel/tyre setup. I currently have a T32 LWB T6 with standard suspension and currently on 255/45/18 tyres. I ask as been told that running 20’s will be harsh and ruin the ride quality. However is this based on running 30/40 profile tyre and what suspension is being used? I would like to lower mine and add new wheels but dont want to compromise being to harsh a ride. I love the look of this set up for arch gap and love to know more. Hopefully you can help advise more, Tony 😊
Great video very informative and exactly what I asked for on the Insta post asking what you should cover on UA-cam! Just maybe saved me getting stuck as I wanted solows on 19/20s but it’s a lwb kombi so it’s a t32 so will have to change my plan of wheels or suspension Thank you
Looks great, I had VW put a set of wheels and tyres on my 19 plate T32, I believe it was 40mm lowered from standard on Davenports when I bought it at 8 months old. It’s now on 275/35-20s,the choice of wheel and tyre has changed my ride from bouncy and uncertain cornering to a more neutral and very comfortable ride. I do have a reasonable gap above the wheel though but having messed about for many years with several vans I don’t want to go any lower at this time. THIS VIDEO HAS DEFINITELY INSPIRED MORE CONFIDENCE THAT A T32 CAN BE LOWERED PROPERLY. So thanks for putting I together.
I'm struggling with air ride on the t32. Could you give advice on if those gaz shocks are working well with the adjustable dampening? I have an air ride kit by air ride uk. Its an absolutely awfuI kit. The rear bags rubbed and have now split after about 10 days of use, bad design of the fixing brackets and wrong type of bag in my opinion. I bought the kit second hand so have no recourse. The front shocks aren't any better one has a slow leak and they don't return to center after turning corners which is dangerous, again bad design of the thrust bearing housing fitting at the top of the shocks. Avoid this kit at all costs. But getting back to the point I'm in the process of building my own air ride kit. Have the rears more or less sorted just need welded the brackets. the bags are just cheap £100 universal ones with a load rating for 4000kg so 4000kg per wheel should be more than enough. I didn't like the bounciness of the air ride so putting either v-maxx or gaz shocks on the back with adjustable damping, hoping this helps and stiffens the ride abit. The v-maxx t32 full kit, the fronts i think are also adjustable dampening so was thinking of removing the spring from the coilovers and making a bracket and using Universal Air Aero Power Sport bags on the coilovers these are load rated for SUV's just don't know if they will fit over coil overs. Probably all sounds abit mad, but i want it to be a comfortable drive as well as dropping low. I have a lowered polo on coilovers and pot holes are no joke so don't want a heavy t32 banging and crashing while driving ill have it on a higher setting. have 20" vossen vle-1's on it im pretty sure they are load rated alloys to 850kg or 950kg per wheel. Got a fancy pack with the wheel centers in add a brochure with all the info you could ever need execpt the load rating. Will have to check tomorrow by taking a wheel off. If you have any advice let me know!!
Great video. Love the result. After your help to my suspension/tyre question on another video I found I could run 245/40/20 fronts and 275/35/20 rears on my t32 kombi as it has lower axle weights. Going b14 komfort low. Was tempted to try squeezing on solows but the Rolls Royce wheel offset is my issue.

Very informative, thank you. Here’s what may be a dumb question but could you change the T32 struts to T30 and have the van legally ‘downsized’ to 3tons? Would it just be a matter of telling the DVLA about the change - then happy days unless you want to fill it with bricks?
The minute you change the suspension, the T28/T30/T32 element goes out the window. Most aftermarket suspension use the same springs all with the strength cover the T32 load. The main difference with T30 to T32 is the front hubs are different. If you were changing from OEM T32 suspension to OEM T30 suspension, you would also need to change the front hubs.
Appreciate this video. Very helpful. I will be looking to lower my T6.1 Caravelle Executive sometime in the near futre. Am I correct in thinking it already sits 20mm lower as standard? I don't want a big drop, but to be honest, it's a bit bouncy in the back, so wanted to increase the ride comfort a bit. I'll never understand spending so much money on the motor, then buying nice, big, expensive wheels, and putting cheap tyres on it though. See it all the time. I already have a set of 265/40/20 PS4S for when I do eventually decide on what wheel I go for, ha ha.
I believe the T6.1 Caravelle is on standard springs but I could be wrong. It may just sit lower because it’s heavier. Lowering that vehicle on good quality coilovers will massively reduce that bounce. Your Caravelle has the same suspension as the entry level panel van. Good quality shocks and spring make a massive difference. Check out the video we did last week at Bilstein UK.
When you talk about that this is the correct size of tyre as it will not rub, do you take into consideration cornering which would compress the outside wheels and make them even lower?
Great video, I have 275/40/20 on a new set of wheels and agree they look like a balloons. Was looking at 255 but now going to go 265 😀 what tyres did you use? Cheers
What’s your opinion on 245/45-19 with regards to Lowering, got a 2021 swb t30 for a company van and had a set of bmw style 32 “tigerclaw” off a e53 x5 lying around, hoping to go like a 80mm lowering, would you reckon that would be possible? The reason i went with 245/45-19 is that they come rated 102
looking at willtheyfit.com you should be ok but the ET of those wheels is 48 at the front, that could cause a rub if dropping 80mm on that tyre. If it does you may need to just lift it a little but I actually think it'll be fine. I assume you have a staggered set of 9 fronts, 10 rears? You might want to run a bigger tyre on the rear. That rear set up would have a lot of stretch. I always think it looks odd when front and rear tyres look different in that way.
I ordered these coilovers last week & that's the same wheel set up, I've got BBS SX. Looking forward to getting them fitted, hopefully this weekend. Did you adjust the rear dampers or leave them as they came?
The dampers come out the box on the softest setting which everyone seems to stick with as they want comfort. This van has about 5mm on adjustment left on the height.

My T6 Caravelle was on stilts when I got it. Didn’t seem any lower than other vans I had.
Will you guys be stocking the new Bilstein Air ride struts and bags (black in colour) ?
We don’t sell air suspension. Speak to Lowdown Transporters.
When you talk about that this is the correct size of tyre as it will not rub, do you take into consideration cornering which would compress the outside wheels and make them even lower?
Yes of course :)
@@THQAutomotive thank you!
Great video, I have 275/40/20 on a new set of wheels and agree they look like a balloons. Was looking at 255 but now going to go 265 😀 what tyres did you use? Cheers
These are saferidge which are a budget but have decent wet and noise ratings. We’ve been impressive with them so far.
Nice work!
Thank you. Glad it was interesting
With these wheel and tyres does you have a full size spare that fits under the van?
Just use the standard spare. The rolling radius is very similar
How much would this setup cost for a Cali Ocean 2023 150bhp?
The suspension it's around £1400
Very helpful
Glad we could help :)
At last..
A comprehensive guide...
You don't seem to talk about stance plus coilovers..for these wheels.
Thanks
Probably because the Stance + range has absolute garbage component quality..
Looks perfect 👍
Thank you 🙏
Really informative, 🍻 cheers
I take it you didn’t just skip to the end then? 🙏🙌🏻
😂 fully watched and listened. No random questions coming your way mate.
@@jamesclack9878 🙌🏻😘
On a 6.1 (T28) how low can you go before needing longer drop links? Thanks
50mm max but I'd probably still fit them at that height
@@THQAutomotive Thank you, I have some on order from you anyway, cheers 👍🏻
Swamper in this colour would look alltime
It’s such a good colour isn’t it. It would look good in any form I think 😍
@@THQAutomotive 5mm front & back?
@@richm6469 I don’t know I’d need to check with josh. It will vary across vehicles of course but this is just am empty kombi
@@THQAutomotive no worries, I'll tweak it. 😎
This one has 10mm of adjustment left on the front and 5mm on the back 👍🏻
What is the mm drop on the van ?
About 80mm on this set up
@@THQAutomotive Thanks, im looking to buy the rotriform six OR's,from you, for a T32 LWB Kombi, what tyre would be best size wise to get this same look. thanks in advance
@@errolkrauss1099 Nice wheel, we have them in stock. You want 265/40/20.
@@THQAutomotive Great, one last question if you may. I want to slightly negative camber the rears , what angle would be best and to avoid tyre rubbing
@@errolkrauss1099 you won't get rubber at the rear with this size.
What happens to the parts you change out?
What do you mean?
@@THQAutomotive I don't need them ,but do you sell them on for the owner/client ?
@@raychambers3646 no we send them back with the customer
@@THQAutomotive thanks for your prompt reply, I have seen a Lowdown VW around Seaton in Devon.
