Thanks for this. I think the 600ma you mention is limiting me. I can hear the motor PWM signal with a high pitch noise but the motor doesn't turn. I tried increasing voltage but it didn't work. I ran the 4.5v outlet direct to the motor and it span no problem but going through the board (jumper on or not) the shield just doesn't have the juice to make it even spin even at 255 power in the code.

Hello, this can drive 4 motor only. for 4 motors you need motor driver. L293D chip is a motor driver and would drive your extra motor. I just looked at the datasheet for 6612 and it seems it can be used instead of 293d. Yo understand it search my channel for l293d and learn about the pins then you should be able to use 6612 instead of it.

I bilieve you might need to add a switch for that (on the arduino) so you can manage to stop and start it, however you might need to make a code for it for the sensor of the switch to work properly using the arduino IDE and you will probably need to use a decision statement for that also an analogwrite function

Is there an Input Pins / control pin mechanism of some sort where I can change programmatically using the sketch. I can do that for the L298 breakout board using the IN1 and IN2 pins. BTW : I dont want to install the AF motor library - but I want to do something using bare Arduino sketch like digitalWrite( InputPin, HIGH); also I m using a Wemos D1 to control the motor. The AF library is not compatible with this hardware/uC.

I mentioned the voltage for the board at beginning of the video. That is important. Then the datasheet is for the chip L293D. That is for information as I mentioned the capacitors on the board can't accept 36V they will explode. I don't remember what was the input voltage but watch the video I know I mentioned it.

walaikum salaam, for each 2 DC motors you can connect one stepper motor. so you can control 2 Stepper motor. We talk about bipolar stepper which has 4 wires. but as for the voltage, I am not sure. I have mentioned and provided the datasheet for L293D chip.

Hi (we say Hi or Salam first), it seems you are not sending full PWM signal to the motor. I forgot the maximum voltage this shield can handle but if it 18V is within the range, then just apply 100% PWM as you already have geared motor which slows the motor at certain ratio. Good luck

The noise is heard when the speed is too low to make the motor move at faster speed. If your motor is not regular motor and has electronic circuit, that could cause noise due to compatibility issue.

IC should not get heat when it has its own power supply.. but if you use power from Arduino then it might heat up a bit. Also if your motor driver IC is heating up...check your battery
you must have connected it incorrectly. 1000s of people are using it. there must be something wrong you do . or possibailly that particular shield is defective.

@@thesaltycorn1622 I found I had two of the motors backwards. The L293D chip doesn't specify which is the positive port and which is the negative. A voltmeter helped me see that and then switching the direction of the leads solved the problem.

The same power that goes to all motors . It is the arduino you have send single or control them.

No. Each should be independent. Make sure use the main code without changing it.
Are the input pins (for battery) rated for 9V or 36V? Datasheet is confusing and Amazon's description is just as confusing

115V is very high. it is possible. by Driver with that voltage might be hard to find.
There is voltage drop at each motor
I have a 10V supply
M1 has 3.6V
M2 has 2.5V
M3 has 2V
M4 has 1.5V
The motors r not running at full potential
We should have voltage and it should be consistent and about 1.7V or less

IC should not get heat when it has its own power supply.. but if you use power from Arduino then it might heat up a bit.
Also if your motor driver IC is heating up...check your battery

This motor sheild has blown up my 2pcs. Arduino Uno
you must have connected it incorrectly. 1000s of people are using it. there must be something wrong you do . or possibailly that particular shield is defective.

I have 4 gear motors and whenever I try running them all using my motor shield they don't run I always have to spin them with my hands to make them spin and they stop when I apply very small load on them . The power supply is given through motor shield and is 18v.please help(arduino uno)

@@awesomecubed have you found a solution? I have tried everything and keep running into the same problem. The motors all make a little buzzing noise but don't rotate.
@@thesaltycorn1622 I found I had two of the motors backwards. The L293D chip doesn't specify which is the positive port and which is the negative. A voltmeter helped me see that and then switching the direction of the leads solved the problem.
