I love these videos. I didn't know and I'm sure they don't advertise that a lot of their sites have public footpaths running through them. So you can walk through the grounds for free.
Perhaps if they reduced their obscene entry charges they would get a greater footfall, ah no, the trouble with that idea is it might encourage the hoy poloy to visit and that would lower the tone. It might give common people ideas above their station.
I witnessed a demonstration/protest this summer at their Fountains Abbey site.
They were protesting the national trust banking with Barclays Bank and the money being invested in environmentally unfriendly businesses they said!

Not a bad reaction this time. They have been drilled by the paper pushers at the headquarter to not allow drones. That lady here at least knew she could not stop you and did not go crazy like the others. Must say though the sites are incredibly beautiful.

The staff were a credit to the trust, although I doubt they will think that way. They need to update their policies and assist the staff in the 'actual' legality of drone flights
Electric fences are not normally on if there's no need. The sign is there to warn that it could be on. You can check if the fence is "hot" or not with a long blade of grass. It won't kill you .
The hot wire was on the inside of the fence at the height of the top rail and supported by offset insulators fixed to posts at intermittent distances along the fence line. The most likely reason is to prevent cattle or horses from neck or head rubbing and damaging the fragile top rail of the rustic fence.
What strikes me more and more is that becoming a paying customer only restricts your freedom. You pay for more rules to follow than if you wouldn't. Things were different in the past.

Cattle electric fences won't hurt you, they just give you a quick belt. For added fun hold someone's hand and then touch the wire. We used to see who could hold on for the longest time! 😂

Thanks to your video I cancelled my membership yesterday,because some of the staff think that the N/T own the the air space above, they are not properly trained on drone laws . And why are they driving around in expensive N/T new cars. Keep it up DJE and visit all of they sites

Inheritors of old world structures always seem bothered by such inspections, the drone can view areas they haven't sterilized, the most interesting stuff.

If there's no signage anywhere about that electric fence then it's definitely illegal as any electric fence which is near to or crosses public areas must have a sign.
Electric fences like that aren't really dangerous other than maybe starting some fires, the shock doesn't feel good but it's not going to stop your heart.

That was a great interaction and the couple you asked about the yearly ticket, That is my part of the country in Dorset Corfe Castle and Studland are approx 15 miles from my town in Poole,,Here in Poole is another site Is called Upton Country Park with a Historic house..That is going to be my heads up for you before i decide to fly the drone over
National trust have different laws so you shouldn’t really trespass with drones no matter what size
@garyjohnson3751 National Trust cannot make Laws, they may think they can ! They can ask you don’t flyover . But they do not own the airspace above. National Trust think they are a law unto themselves!

Nice to do all the NT sites all in one huge batch. It means that you can cover all of them before they can react. y and Because like any bureaucracy they will take an age to do anything and even longer to make a decision. So you can get loads of the evidence that makes it harder for the NT to try and keep the status quo. They will be forced to update their policies once you're done and the news starts to spread.

Apparently a statement by The NT Chairman about their staff not upholding British values----or along those lines!! I never found a problem filming indoors/outdoors at every NT site we visited---Your experience met silly staff-best ignored!
