Hi Fern! I am excited to find your page, I am a Registered Nurse (Labor and Delivery) with an Autistic son...I need to work at home, glad that I found your channel.
Here’s my question… if every nurse leaves the bedside because of staffing shortages, low pay, higher and higher acuities in the inpatient population, and facilities everywhere can’t seem to keep nurses at the bedside because they’re all leaving the bedside in favor of these roles, why aren’t bedside nurses paid more? You’d think supply and demand economics might cause our wages to rise due to the demand yet most hospitals will pay their staff bottom of the barrel wages to do the real work necessary to create roles like these, but then they waste a shitload of money hiring temporary staffers and travelers instead of paying their loyal employees better.
You would think that’d be the most obvious solution, right?!?
@@remotenursefern it certainly makes more sense to me to pay the staff you have slightly better, hire a few more CNA’s with the money you will save not hiring travelers at all, and maybe make the care environment better all around for the people working and for the patient’s experience.

Hi! I don't know how much computer time you can tolerate - but with your experience in home health, you may look into a part-time telephonic triage role. Some companies offer as few as 4-hour shifts.
Hello. I’ve been looking for over 2 years for a PART TIME REMOTE RN ROLE. (2-3 days or Nights) I’m currently employed FT as a REMOTE RN CARE COORDINATOR these past 7 plus years for same Healthcare Corp & they do not offer PT REMOTE. Hi! The most accessible part-time we've found to be triage.
I’m in same boat, becoming desperate looking for remote PT evenings and weekends. I work FT from home in insurance and cannot stand for long periods of time due to medical issues which is why I have to work remotely. I’m in NY and am trying to survive with this economy and now need a 2nd income. If Nurse Fern or anyone has any suggestions or guidance it would be greatly appreciated. Are these employment opportunities just for Registered Nurses or are LVNs as well?
LPN/LVN also! The roles aren’t as abundant as RN but we do post them on our free job board when we find them.

This is tough - Incredible Health and Trusted had in the past but they haven't had any hiring for a while. You can also look at the insurance companies that operate in your location and search roles.
Hi nurse Fern, i am a new graduate nurse and recently got a position in the hospital med surge unit. Do remote position hire new graduate nurse?
Hi there! Some remote positions do hire new grads but it is much more difficult to get into without clinical experience. Elevance Health has been known to hire those without any experience. As a caution - if you think you will ever want to do clinical nursing, it is more difficult to gain experience if you don't go straight in after school.
