Old school RS was probably my favorite game growing up. Since then, I've played 100s of different games but none have quite been like RS. I am gonna give RS3 a chance now, thanks for the tutorial!

I'm a maxed player and for some reason still really enjoyed watching the entire video - if I could suggest two things worth mentioning, however: 1) Eating most food drains adrenaline (while you have an active target)! This increases the challenge level of trying to kill monsters efficiently, as you can't just chug food for the entire fight, without sacrificing tons of damage or defensive potential. 2) It may have been really nice to mention the 'protect item' prayer when talking about death, as it saves a massive amount of money potentially, and something that should be included in pretty much every combat prayer preset. Apart from that, keep up the amazing content! Have a good one :)

My man... the last time i logged in, it was back in 2012. I felt sooooo lost when i created my new character because i lost my old one. The new combat feels a bit more fun but i didn't know what and how to deal with them. Thanks for the vid it was really nice. Keep it up!
Maxed for years and some elements of this I still only learned very recently, like binding action bars to a combat style. That is HUGE for enemies that require hybridding like the dagannoth kings.
Me being a 15 year vet who plays the game off and on did not realize this and wondered how people end game bosses with multiple weapons. I thought I was just bad lol. (I have every skill maxed but 2 and the 120 skills)
You should have mention that You can change in which skill you can get xp in options. I can see new players skilling just attack or strenght, and not know how to switch Edit: Oh sorry I missed it. Great guide

Man, this is awesome. I'm level 108 and coming back to Rs after like 8 years and your guide is really helpful to remind basics and learn EoC/ability basics. There would be also nice to have knowledge about current reasonable weapons and armors - my account was hijacked in meantime and I have all wealthy items including armor, I don't even remember well what I had that times
I genuinely had no idea how to use the group system until I went for the Reaper achievement years after maxing when they finally split it off from the completionist cape into its own thing.
I returned to this game after making my rs3 account like a few years ago. I honestly had no fucking clue what was happening when I was attacking, and I could not for the life of me figure out how to train in defense. So many convoluted menus! This tutorial helped quite a bit. I REALLY want to get into rs3, but every time I try I feel like I just get bombarded with updates, menus, and new gameplay features that I just feel lost, And eventually end up just firing up my good ol osrs account.
I consider myself more of a skiller than combat. My main is pretty much 90+ all except for Archaeology which is at 75. My melee is around 93 average, 98 range and 93 magic. So a guide is best needed for me so I can improve.

13:31 One thing I'll say is a big deal is to take a preset that they provide and then tailor that to your liking. Personally I tried to make mine as osrs as possible, but then dragged out the tabs I typically needed up at once for PVM. cluttered, but powerful. then made another one with all that minimized for skilling.
14:45 I'd argue even at low levels this is big because unlocking that teleport can be done even just at mole, KQ or KBD with a few friends. *You want that Hub Teleport.*

You got the Constitution xp wrong i think. You said if you get 1,000 combat xp total, 333 of that would be HP (meaning 666 would be the other combat style, therefor earning Constitution xp at 1/2 the rate of other combat stats), whereas it should be, if you get 1000 str xp for example, you will get 333 HP on top of that as Constitution xp is earned at 1/3 the rate of other combat skills. Great video as always though!

Yea, I almost think I was lucky that I couldn't remember my old acc, starting from scratch a couple days ago was alot simpler. Game is pretty terrible if your not a member. Rs3 simply has a much more dense map and it's huge but you don't get access to enough of it as a FTP, you also have all Theese things dotted around the map that are going to remind you of all the content you are missing out on by not being a member. It seems their are quests right from lv1 you get access to as a member so it's not like you have to build an account before it's worth it.
What about for long slayer tasks though, wouldn't you want to use the shield to make yourself last longer without having to use food? Also that's just always been my style since I started playing rs, using a sheild

About runes, while fighting with magic, I'm not sure I understand When using an ability (so all the time because we should never simply auto-attack, right? and we never AA with Revolution anyway) it consumes no rune. So runes are just a prerequisite but not a consumable when it comes to combat, right? So the no runes cost part of the Metamorphosis ability (buff) is useless, right? Also you say that low level magic weapon with high levels spells would be a waste of runes (because better level spells won't increase the damage). But once again, what waste, as using abilities (hence fighting) consumes no runes? Or am I mistaken that I should use abilities all the time? But seems very strange to me as they do more damage + generate more adrenaline + are quicker + cost no runes. I'm so confused with this situation
I'm level 50 attack, defence etc. everything in the mid level almost kills me instantly I already died to the hellhounds and almost lost my items due to me not knowing what to do. Is there any better way to reach level 60 - 70 without just doing moss giants? And I have one more question: What do I buy with 86m? (I moved my comment because nobody answered)
can you do one how to do bosses like ED2 with no beast of burden? everyone says use it but i cant help but camp BOB and use a buffet.. i barley started using nihil at nex solo and i need help bruh i cant get over not having a buffet and not using tendrils as every cooldown respawn but everyone says use ripper demon this and that -_- i can get consistent kills but i cant imagine not having a buffet if u mess up
You said it makes sense that it's difficult for an arrow to pierce a pl8body and that's how ranged beats melee. But why does ranged beat magic and why does magic beat melee? There's no reason for that imo. Any logic behind those two?
It has more to do with the armor. If I remember correctly dragons are magical creatures so their hides dampen magical effects. Whereas metal acts as a conduit empowering the spell.
You should modify your combat bars to show the AOE abilities for each combat style are on the same buttons. This will help new characters get familiar with attack types faster
There are a couple things that are pretty fundamental and unintuitive that this video misses. First, that the global ability cooldown is 1.8 seconds (3 ticks), which is essential to evaluating how good any ability is. Second, that armor from one combat style gives invisible penalties to accuracy of other combat styles. It's more a symptom of being so experienced that you forget about these basic things that aren't explained anywhere. EDIT: Also, that (almost) all weapons of any level tier are designed to do the same dps, so you can basically ignore the weapon speed and damage stats.

Runescape is technically OSRS, the "OSRS" is just a pseudo spinoff.

Maybe now would be a great time to bring back that combat academy haha. I used that academy to basically start off any acc with 35pray in like 20mins.

Feels a bit underwhelming. But i believe with time i will get it. Just got level 40 in melee, ranged and magic.
a 120 max cape would be cool for rs3... and a 200m max cape.

Defenders are probably the best, as they can help you use Resonance to mitigate a hit while also allowing you to deal damage
