    No on the band-saw it was not my favorite job in the aerospace job shop sawing off the tool tabs from both aluminum and steel machined parts, I can still smell those wax sticks.
    Thank you for sharing the plane this is being installed on, your job and work are very critical.
    We are both happy you love the band saw though, someone has to do it.

    I don't know how I ended up here but I watched and stayed 'til the end, fascinating, and I'm surprised that mahogany is strong enough to do everything a prop must do - obviously it is and it does!!
    I've watched all of your vids now and the story of how and why you took over from your grandfather, it's humbling to see that you saw it almost as your duty, hats off to you.
    Standing up all day and working at machines can play havoc with a human back but I guess you've built body strength from doing what you do, I get tired just watching you. Look after your back :o)

    How amazing and very specialized work!
    My congratulations!
    This is the first time I see the process. I could not imagine all the necessary effort...
    It remembered me the time when I was a boy and my father taught how to carve a small propeller, "similar" to these ones, to use in a wind wooden vane plane I would make.
    I used a piece of cedarwood and carved it with my pocket knife. In those times, all boys were proud of having their own pocket knives!
    Thank you for bring me back such a happy memory.

    Hi Alaina;
    I really enjoyed your video. I have always said that women can do anything they decide to do if their parents just teach them that when they are growing up.
    One of my hobbies is model airplane building. When I was a boy about 12, my father taught me how to carve wooden propellers for my rubber band models. Since then I have carved several props for models. My latest are two matched 6" props of maple for a pair of model biplanes. They look very much like the prop you carved in the video.
    Over the years I have studied a little about prop building and learned how to draw a correct pattern for a given prop with a given pitch, so my later ones look more professional, but are no better quality carving or balancing.
    By the way I got the link for your video from a Rosa String Works video. I enjoy Jerry's videos very much as building string instruments is another of my hobbies. Best of luck with your business.

    Alaina, Beautifull work my friend. Such attention to detail. My question is: I have a small office that I have all of my dad's airforce memorabilia, and was looking for an inexpensive prop to hang on the wall. Do you have any propellers that you have made that may not have fit your strict standards for airplane use but might look nice in my setting?
    Thanks for sharing.

      I'll answer. Yes, they have both decorative and economically priced used props for sale. I'm sure they have one just for you.
