The Tour Te Waipounamu is a Bikepacking race that travels 1,300km from the Northern most point of New Zealand's South Island to Slope point, the most Southerly tip.
Race founder, Brian Alder put together a unique route that travels through extensive backcountry New Zealand, incorporating many private stations, otherwise inaccessible to the public. It also navigates a mixture of walking trails and historic tracks and paths. The film charts the concept of the race and follows a cross section of athletes from a variety of disciplines as they take on the inaugural challenge.
