I would love to make more as they are good fun to make, sadly I have to eat and pay many bills so I have to engrave for money first and run my business. I have not got the time to do much else. Maybe I will make another soon.

Once again a big thank you for all the lovely reviews. I am unbelievably
busy and have no time to answer individual questions which I also get
by emails and messages etc, every single day from all over the world. I
will just say quickly here, the water drip feed is simply a 2way gang
valve from an aquatic pet shop. Bit of tubing and an empty milk bottle.
The drill I mainly use is a micromotor, Google it :-)The burs are a
variety of diamond, stone and rubber, they all do different things
depending on speed, pressure, wet, dry, worn out or new. You just have
to experiment and practice. I have a large dust extractor as well as
using the mask. Using water minimises dust levels considerably. Have a
good light over the glass so you can see it when it is wet. Have fun
    and take care. ♥

Thank you :) good question, have had it 100 years, probably should not have included it, but what I am doing you can do the same against any abrasive surface, or turn another diamond bur against the bur, it is just to grind down the top to either re-shape or in the case of the rats tail, to get to new grit.

My husband bought me a power carver and I am just starting out. Your work is amazing...I sat here stunned in amazement and awe realizing how many different bits you used multiple times to create the depth on the floral vase you did before this video came on. How big a bit did you start out with? It looks bigger than any bit I have. And what engraver are you using? Thank you so much. Your talent is breathtaking.

Hi Lesley, I've been watching you produce your pieces of work for quite a while with hope that I could one day be 50% as good as you. I've been engraving glass objects for Christmas gifts but hitting a brick wall.
I've been engraving poinsettias using the grinding rubbers to help with the shading of the leaves, but I'm not getting the white as white as I would like and when I wipe it with a tissue the white goes to a drab grey sometimes blending in to the background!!! Is there anything I could do to improve the grade of white?
Many thanks in advance, Andy. Yorkshire UK

    Hi Lesley
Perhaps an odd question but where-location wise-do you create your work? I don’t have a studio and engrave in my house. I use water to cut down on the glass dust and wear a mask, but am still worried about engraving in the same room as my family.
    Thanks!

Just like ( I think ) everyone else here . I'm drawn to this art form and the media of glass ______ as opposed to paper , canvas , clay etc. So once you find Lesley Pyke's videos you just know she's the one to ask . And she's being asked from around the world . I found her web site " Glass Engraving " Lesley Pyke LTD. . and it is very informative . find it , click on each of her website sections , and by the time you've soaked up as much as you can . . . . . well for me I consider her a national treasure for the UK . N and S America , and everyone in between . Mrs. Pyke has been commissioned by princesses , presidents and her work graces a globe now .
