If you are looking for suppliers of bit and burrs, you could try these. I am not affiliated with either of these, but they have helped me out in the past.

This is such a wonderful explanation of the different bits & burrs. They have been such a mystery to me it has kept me from trying glass engraving for a long time. There is no holding me back now! 😁
Thank you. I am so pleased if I have helped.
I just contacted bandhservices and Toby was amazing - he is putting a set together and sending it to me for £30 ... excited to have a go now
He is a lovely man to deal with and I am sure he will see you right.
These videos are very useful. Great explanation :) Now I can learn more about glass engraving :) I am impressed :)
Thank you,I left a request in part one for a kit list and found this.
Great information!!! Thank you!!!
You are welcome.
Great video thanks for sharing your amazing talent ❤
From one Templeton to another, thank you very much.
Thank you so much - I've just watched this and Part 1 and it's exactly what I was looking for. I am an absolute beginner - in fact I'm a pre-beginner, just setting off on this new journey. Now off to look and see where I can get some of these pieces of equipment.
I am sure you will love this craft, just as I do. Glad if I can help.
@@whatktmadenext My head is spinning with looking at tools. I have established that I doubt I'll be doing lots of big work so just need something very basic but, at the same time, I don't want to invest in something that is no use at all. There are so many different tools around!
@@geordiepam01 yes. That's why it was difficult for me to make this video. Just about any rotary tool will allow you to engrave on glass. The right tool for you depends on how much engraving you intend to do, and what your budget is. I wish you luck and hope you will find something that suits you.
Very helpful, thanks.
Glad you found it useful.
These videos have been so useful! Thanks for sharing such detailed information.
You are very welcome, and thank you for your kind comment.
Thank you for your videos very much. They are very useful. I started engraving few months ago by myself, so your videos very helpful for learning. I found you yesterday and I am very happy for this.

Thanks for showing me what the burrs are very helpful x
Glad it was useful for you.
Thank you so much for these wonderful videos. I started engraving only a few weeks ago, I'm into art but I really enjoyed it that much I want to take it up and be able to make glassware presents for family and Friends. I did have an idea of what was needed and what each burr is for along with the rubbers but have not been able to get the exact ones I've wanted so thank you so much for the links to the specialist suppliers. I myself have just ordered a new Dremel with Flexi shaft so will be well on my way to doing something I absolutely love xx
Absolutely delighted if I have helped in any way.
@@whatktmadenext you certainly have, I've gotten a better idea of the sizes and shapes and especially the stones.
Thank you so much and maybe when I've done my first piece I can send you a picture 😊
Thank you for replying for me.
No problem,. Best of luck with your engraving.

Hey! I absolutely love your easy to follow videos for beginners! Just picked up glass etching a few weeks ago so still very new at this. I bought a diamond bur set from Amazon but every time I try to use them they produce a black mark. I tried slower and faster speeds but still the same outcome. Am I doing something wrong or is there maybe something wrong with the Burs I bought? Any suggestions on exactly what brand of burs to buy or any help would be appreciated!
Also…. I’m sorry about any gaming videos you may see on my UA-cam. This is actually my sons account
Those black marks usually happen when there are areas on the burr where there is no diamond so the metal shank rubs against the glass and leaves the mark. In any set of Amazon burrs you are likely to have a few that do this. Hopefully some of them will work for you though. You are not doing anything wrong. I am not sure where you are based. Here in the UK I could recommend you go to Eternal Tools or B&H Supplies to get get some better quality ones. In other countries I have limited information for you. You could try searching online for "jewellery making tools and equipment ". That often brings up the better quality suppliers in your area.
Find out if he has any tips on how to beat Odin in FFVII rebirth! Really stuck with that one.
I am having trouble getting my engraving to turn dark without going to clear glass
Yes, it is always difficult. If you have to engrave an animal with dark fur, make the shadows as dark as you can manage and the highlights as light as you can. For the very darkest tones, if all else fails, go over the glass with a polishing rubber, which just produces a haze and keeps the darkest tone.
Hello again,
So, should I buy a set of diamond, silicon carbide, polishing burrs to begin with? Am I correct?
That would be ideal. If you really want to start simple, them just the diamond burrs would let you do simple engraving without any shading. There is an example of how that looks in this video. ua-cam.com/video/00-Z4sO5FTY/v-deo.html. If you decide you want to do more complex engraving then the stone and polishers will help you.
Have you used Tungsten Carbide burrs? I just purchased some thinking maybe they will last long then Diamond Burrs
Tungsten carbide burrs are useful for wood or metal work, but not so good for glass. You are likely to find they will skip on the surface and not make much of a mark (assuming you are using a rotary tool). If you are using an engraver which works by vibrating the point rapidly against the surface tungsten carbide might work better.
