  • This new brushless RC aircraft can automatically fly vertical or inverted, and can do automatic loops and rolls. Find it here and use coupon BGKF700 to get it for $72.24 ban.ggood.vip/... And here are many more Banggood RC coupons bit.ly/Coupons-BG
    Pros
    - Flying model of the J-20 fighter aircraft.
    - Weighs only 135 grams with battery installed. Does NOT require registration or remote ID (RID) in most countries.
    - Ready to fly plane with included transmitter.
    - Four channel airplane with throttle, differential yaw, and elevon (combined elevator/aileron) controls.
    - Constructed of flexible and crash resistant EPP foam.
    - Power by dual brushless motors.
    - 7.4V 700mah battery (with three pronged LOSI connector) provides up to 18 minutes flight time.
    - 300 meter range controller with five selectable flight modes. Modes include normal flight, and four automatic stunt modes of vertical hover, inverted flight, loops, and rolls.
    Cons
    - All flight modes are gyro stabilized. Can't turn off the stabilization system for manual flight.
    - Gyro can get confused, resulting in uncommanded flipping of the aircraft. Not sure if this was due to the wind, or the battery flopping around in the battery compartment. But I do recommend that pilots include some foam or tissue around the battery to prevent it from moving around in flight.

    Hopefully we will see 3S brushless sub 250G jets soon!!!

      E-Flite has a F-86 thats sub 250 on 4S, and their new ME-262 is also sub 250 on 3S if you use slightly smaller than recommended batteries.

    The lipo has a balance plug on it , that's why it has 3 wires

      Yes it is a balance plug. But I've never seen a 3 wired balance plug of this shape before.

    It's a great flyer fokes does loops and rolls just fine you have to fly it like a jet not a glider it needs 60 70 percent throttle to perform well

      It's a good flyer. Not great, but not bad either. But there are some issues with this plane, first of it being very tail heavy in normal flight (but not in inverted). Second is uncommanded gyrations that I strongly suspect are being caused by the battery flopping around in its compartment during flight. So I plan to add some weight to the nose, and cushion the battery for a follow-on flight to see if these can be corrected.

      I secured the battery with some foam, and added a little weight to the nose. It's an amazing flier now.

    It looks like they used drone motors and even drone arms as motor mounts.

    That lower left function button DOES appear to have some purpose - just NOT in the vertical hover mode. If anybody has access to the Manual for this, has a flash modern smart phone and knows how to use the camera thereon to translate the Chinese section of the supplied Manual, then there is a section describing what that button does (in the non-Hover Mode) just after the (English version) section about "Airplane advanced aerobatics control instructions" and before the equivalent (Chinese version) section on the "Vertical Flight Explanation'! Let us know what it says.
    The flight board on this does has some VERY STRANGE quirks - not helped at all by the toy transmitter! Going to a Multi Transmitter if/when the protocol is decoded and available will certainly help but, stock, be prepared to ONLY fly it over soft grass!
    After binding by plane on, then Tx, then throttle up/down, you need to give a throttle burst to wake up the board. ALSO dropping the throttle to 0 again produces some weird behaviour! DON'T do it whilst flying.
    Can't measure the motors properly but seem like the common 1503 (or 4) 3-stud-base quad motors being used all over the place now. ESCs and light LEDs on a separate board in the wing plastic motor mounts. Propellers are T-mount on the 1.5mm shaft by 2x2mm screws. The hubs are 1/4inch thick and 4.2inches long (neat measurements so metric sizes not given) but I'll have to scratch through the scrap props bin to judge the unknown pitch.
    Battery weight is about 31gms and all-up flying weight is about 131gms by my possibly inaccurate scales.
    The flight board is mounted flat on the plastic cover that's held in by 1 screw near the switch. It uses normal 3-wire servos with micro JST plugs into the board. With my shaky mitts I didn't want to risk removing the microscopic screws fixing the flight board to the plastic cover - so I can't say if there might be a barometer on the board to work in concert with that lower left Tx button marked "Fixed height mode" in the English section of the Manual.
    3-pin Micro Losi plugs and sockets ARE available on Aliexpress but better to do some snipping, soldering and crimping to make up adapters for a more convenient battery hook-up/charge.

      I looked up that button using Google Translate's camera image translate feature. The manual says that button is for "Fixed height mode", but doesn't explain its use any further. Was your plane experiencing weird uncommanded gyrations like mine?

      @@Quadcopter101 No flights yet. Just picked it up this afternoon and too wet to fly anywhere for a bit. So just bench testing so far - though I must say it didn't exactly inspire confidence. Hard for me to manipulate the plane and hang onto that dinky Tx with my arthritic hands. We'll get a better idea next Sunday - weather permitting!
      As to just "Fixed height mode" - the section of Chinese text that I was talking about looks to be a lot more characters than the little annotation under the depiction of the Tx that IS translated in the English section. What does the "15" amongst the bracketed section of the more extensive explanation pertain to? 🤔

    Can ìt be launched from your hand in vertical mode, and hover like a drone? If so control board would use the elevons, amazing tech if so i will buy one,,

    • @Quadcopter101
      @Quadcopter101  2 дні тому

      Good question. But I don't know. I plan on taking it out for a second review flight to try adding weight to the nose, and cushioning the battery. I might try a vertical hand launch if I do.

    • @theoztreecrasher2647
      @theoztreecrasher2647 День тому

      Yep. It flies EXACTLY like a bi-copter drone (with pusher props) when in the "Vertical Mode" - the Rudder/Yaw control rotates it around the upturned nose via the Elevon surfaces while the Aileron/Roll and Elevator/Pitch control sticks act like normal quadcopter controls - by tilting the nose forwards and backwards via the elevator/pitch stick and slide it side to side by the aileron/roll stick varying the differential thrust. .
      Might pay to try it out by switching to Vertical from Horizontal Mode first with it well clear of you to make sure that it is reasonably well trimmed out and not likely to drift back into your face if you do hold it by the tail to launch as you asked. Those props would give you a nice dose of Prussian Army Officer's duelling scars if you weren't careful! They are a LOT sharper and harder than the old XK X520 props! 😱🙄
