One of my goals was to find a good Bible study about Jesus in the Old Testament. So, I’m super happy that you’ve done & are continuing to do this series, since I enjoy your teaching so much!!
There is no mention of Jesus in the Old Testament. It was written long before he was born. The authors of the New Testament, written between 70 and 100 CE, long after Jesus died, were, of course, well acquainted with the “prophecies” and simply adjusted their stories to accommodate them.
I've just finished your Jesus in the Old Testament series Mike and I have to say, me and my mother gained a lot of insight from it and we learned quite a few new things. Proverbs 30 is really interesting, because, besides you, I have never heard anyone else preach from it. It's truly an overlooked part of scripture that not nearly enough preachers are talking about.
Lots of preachers talk about what the people want to hear not what they should hear. It’s a big issue in the church as many pastors want as many people to follow them as they can get but they leave out things that are sometimes hard to understand or just hard to swallow and they are vital for our walk with God.

What does this mean for the gospel of Matthew when he says there are 14 generations between Abraham and David?

"Do nothing out of selfish ambition or conceit, rather in humility value others above yourselves." Philippians 2:3
Follow the perfect example of Jesus and live humbly. Just as Jesus said those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted. Luke 14:11
Hopefully this helped you today. God bless.

This was pretty awesome!
I never read this chapter. I'm mesmerized. Like reading ancient riddles.
Good stuff Pastor Mike!
Mike is so adorable when he gets excited about a Bible teaching. Like a 5 year old who learned something really cool at school and can't wait to tell their parents or any other person in their general vicinity. I want to be like that when I learn about God's Word too.
Such a beautiful passage and message!

Well done Mike.Thank you.
Hi Mike, I love your videos! I heard you say in another video something like “When I can’t find a missing resource, I want to become that resource.” I have been trying for a while to find information on the relationship between Rahab and Boaz. I found very little explanation for their relationship, and the answers were not satisfying. Is the mother of Boaz the same Rahab as the harlot? Is there a generational gap? What does this mean for the gospel of Matthew when he says there are 14 generations between Abraham and David?
Great teaching! Thank you Mike! New subscriber
Brilliant teaching. Praise the Lord! Very helpful for witnessing to Jews. A huge thank you for all the effort you put into your teaching.
