Question Time Stamps for Quick Reference:
    0:00 - Intro
    1. 1:08 {Did God Command Sin?} In Genesis 22:2, God tested Abraham by asking him to sacrifice Isaac as a burnt offering. How can God ask men to do something that is sinful, and how could Abraham obey God’s direction to sin?
    2. 19:11 {Proof of Virginity Required?} In Deuteronomy 22: 13-21, why were the women to be stoned to death if they didn’t present proof of virginity? Was it the same for the men?
    3. 25:30 {Keep All but 1 Commandment?} Why do Christians try to keep all 10 commandments except the 4th one? I hope this doesn't sound rude.
    4. 37:36 {Does God Have Blood?} Does God have blood? If not, isn’t that Nestorian?
    5. 39:22 {How to Put Faith in Christ} As an atheist who would like to believe in God, goes to church, and has read the Gospel, what steps do I take to believe?
    6. 45:16 {Is it Logical to Believe the Bible?} How can Christians believe in a literal Adam and Eve account or a literal worldwide flood?
    7. 51:32 {Did Jesus Doubt?} Is it true to say that Jesus doubted? How would you respond to someone that claims that He did (in Gethsemane), implying it's OK to doubt?
    8. 55:12 {Why Doesn’t God Immediately Help/Heal?} Why would I "surrender" myself to someone who could help me (be well, not be in pain, heal me) and is with me at all times, but doesn't help me?
    9. 58:43 {Why is Belief Necessary for Forgiveness?} Why does God require belief for forgiveness? Why can’t God simply forgive our sins since Jesus died for all and not attach belief to that?
    10. 1:03:23 {Why does God Heal Some Cancer but Not All?} I have a neighbor who can't get past this question: “My dad had cancer and died. You [me] had it and lived. Why does God think that's fair?”
    11. 1:08:18 {Rejecting the Message due to Credentials} Any advice for lay people doing public ministry that get attacked by non-believers on the basis of their credentials? I feel I am capable of interpretation and ministry despite never having been to seminary.
    12. 1:12:03 {Does the Devil Know Our Thoughts?} Can the Devil interpret what a non-believer may be thinking or what's on their mind? Can he understand what a person is thinking?
    13. 1:14:57 {Prophecies Written Afterwards?} How can you prove that parts of the Bible weren't written after the events took place, like prophecies or historical accounts of God's providence?
    14. 1:17:35 {Proof of God’s Existence} What proof apart from science is there that there’s a God?
    15. 1:22:01 {Couldn’t the Bible be More Clear?} Do you honestly think the Bible couldn't have been more clear about important moral issues where the church has been very wrong (treatment of gays, etc.)? What does that say about authorship?
    16. 1:27:39 {How to Know Christianity is the Truth} I am so afraid. There is so many views about God. How can I be sure I am following the correct ways? I claim to be a Christian but there are too many different views.
    17. 1:33:01 {The Problem of Evil} Why is there so much suffering if God is good? If He is almighty, why doesn’t He stop all the bad things?
    18. 1:38:38 {Faith/Trust Defined} Define faith/trust. If someone intellectually knows that God exists but doesn't know how to trust in Him, how would you counsel them?
    19. 1:41:28 {Didn’t the Israelites Have Meat to Eat?} If the Israelites had flocks and herds, why did they complain that they had no meat? They didn't have the Law of Moses yet on what not to eat.
    20. 1:42:36 {Would God Pass the Test?} Ricky Gervais says that if all scientific knowledge and religion were erased, science would be eventually re-discovered, but not God. Thoughts?

I dont think you're taking into account all the verses of the Bible in regards to Sabbath observance. It says Remember the 7th day, it says that sons, daughters, servants, and the stranger in your gate, in other words, the foreigner, aka not Jewish. And the Bible also says we'll be keeping Sabbath in heaven.
Here are some more verses and a quote from a Catholic Catechism.
      Matthew 5:17,
Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. 18 For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one [b]jot or one [c]tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. 19 Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.
“Had she not such power, she could not have done that in which all modern religionists agree with her-she could not have substituted the observance of Sunday, the first day of the week, for the observance of Saturday, the seventh day, a change for which there is no scriptural authority” - Stephen Keenan A Doctrinal Catechism p 174
      Hebrews 4:9-10
9 There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. 10 For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His.
Luke 23:56 - Disciples Kept Sabbath after Jesus’ death
56 Then they returned and prepared spices and fragrant oils. And they rested on the Sabbath according to the commandment.
      Acts 17:2
2 Then Paul, as his custom was, went in to them, and for three Sabbaths reasoned with them from the Scriptures,
      Acts 16:13
13 And on the Sabbath day we went out of the city to the riverside, where prayer was customarily made; and we sat down and spoke to the women who met there.
      Ezekiel 22:26
26 Her priests have [a]violated My law and profaned My holy things; they have not distinguished between the holy and unholy, nor have they made known the difference between the unclean and the clean; and they have hidden their eyes from My Sabbaths, so that I am profaned among them.

Your explanation of God asking for a blood sacrifice is so much gobbledigook! It only proves that the earliest Hebrews knew about and practiced human sacrifice....and there are one or two other examples (the story of Jephtha comes immediately to mind)..the fact that Hebrews sacrificed animals as if it were going out of style suggests that blood magic was an important part of their worship!

@@Kunoichi139 Some responses regarding the verses you provided:
Matthew 5:17 - this is from the Sermon on the Mount. Jesus continues to speak from there all the way until the end of chapter 7. When He finishes, the chapter ends with this: "28 When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were astonished at His teaching, 29 because He taught as one who had authority, *and not as their scribes."* The phrase "their scribes" indicates that the crowd is either entirely, or primarily, composed of Jews, since the scribes were the Jewish teachers of the law. It makes sense we would see this reference to the Sabbath in relation to the Jewish crowd gathered.
Hebrews 4:9-10 - the context indicates the Sabbath rest mentioned here is actually a reference to salvation, not the weekly Sabbath. Lots of people have lots of interpretations/views of this portion and I don't have time to go into details.
Luke 23:56 - if the women in this verse are Jews, we would expect them to continue observing the Sabbath. If they were not Jews, well, where in the Bible do we see non-Jews given the instruction to begin keeping the Sabbath? There is a big hoopla in Acts 15 about the burden of the Jewish circumcision and not eating meat offered to idols being put upon non-Jews, but not a single hoopla about the new law of keeping the Sabbath put upon non-Jews. I would submit that it makes the most sense to consider these women to simply be Sabbath-keeping Jews.
Acts 17:2 - Paul was a Jew, so it's reasonable that He would observe the Sabbath.
Acts 16:13 - Paul was a Jew here too, and Timothy was with him, who was even circumcised on account of the Jews. Again, it makes sense they would go out to talk to people on the Sabbath because that is when people would be gathered.
Ezekiel 22:26 - again, the Jews.

In the story of Abraham being asked to sacrifice his son, it could have been reasonable for Abraham to think that Isaac was the messiah. Again, Abraham didn't have the level of info that we have so he would not have known what to expect. But God STOPPED it from happening -- Abraham was NEVER going to sacrifice his son!

Question number five, I was in that spot 45 years ago. I found out when I was drunk and stoned that I was angry with God, which surprised me! Without the self control because I wasn’t sober I started throwing rocks at God, or at least I thought I was and I screamed at Him, “If You don’t like the way I live my life then You take over!”. And He did. I was immediately clean and sober and was filled with peace that I couldn’t comprehend. I had literally demanded that God take control of me, which is a bit rude I thought but as I learned about Him I learned that He wanted to take over my life to give me a better life. You obviously don’t have to be drunk, stoned or angry to ask God to show you who He is and what He wants you to believe. He is listening and He knows your heart, your past, your future, your hopes, your dreams and anything else you can think of. Simply ask Him to show you what the answer to your question here is and then look around for His response because He WILL respond. I hope this helps.

Praying for you. But just a reminder that your pain is not a result of your sin, unless your act of sin gave you a disease or caused the pain to start. Job teaches us that we can not know the full reasons that God allows us to be hurt as such, but only that his plan is in action. Don't put this pain on yourself, but instead trust that God has a plan and uses all things, even the pain, for his glory in the end. So seek how you may glorify God in the middle of your pain, and hurt the devil even more!

Not an incredible analogy…the red light 🚦 is a culturally created tool to direct transportation and the cop is fulfilling the same purpose under a special circumstance…both are self evident …no special pleading is necessary to assess the need for safety, the dysfunction of the light and the reality of the cop directing traffic.
But the reality of an eternal, self-aware consciousness requires special pleading to be believed. The same application of special pleading may function to support any culturally created norms regarding invisible beings and how humans interact with these beings.
A ‘real’ God that can’t offer better evidence than thousands of false ones may be reasonably assessed as yet another successful example of a cultural creation not an eternal creator. Indoctrination works …but it’s still indoctrination.
When Special Pleading is elevated to the highest virtue …it’s still special pleading.
What prevents Christians from being honest about that?

My wife was concerned that I wouldn't find ANY school that teaches what I thought was Biblical truth and that I would just waste my time and go further into debt only cuz I made a promise to God I would be a pastor...
I have been told they they misspelled cemetery as seminary .... in your experience did you have professors that were very rigid in their theological stance and there was no room for differing thoughts? I ask this cuz while Jesus prayed for us to be on the same page with Him as He is with the Father...we tend to either agree to disagree or rebuild the proverbial tower of Babel (as we are like minded with other humans and yet in opposition to God....as they make a name for themselves)
I got kicked out of a prison ministry and I truly felt called to this.. but due to a different viewpoint on the character of God and such...I was no longer in the same camp.....😢

I would point you towards this passage from Acts.
Acts 17:10-12 "The brethren immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea, and when they arrived, they went into the synagogue of the Jews. Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so. Therefore many of them believed, along with a number of prominent Greek women and men."
I would then follow this up with a question, who awarded the first doctor with thier doctoral degree?
In short, I want to make it clear that I am NOT discounting Seminary, but if you truly want to learn more about GOD your study of the Bible should be supplemented by Seminary and Education, and not the other way around.

I can see and understand what you mean. I myself grew up under one denomination and have shifted to and tried several others, and am currently in a church that I would normally not attend. But the key is that it is undeniable that Satan is attacking the Church, be it by threatening death to those in other countries, or prideful and divisive arguments among well meaning brothers. One of the wisest things I have had a pastor tell me is "we are just a group of sinners trying to live a biblical life, and your welcome to join us in figuring that out." The key is living out iron sharpening iron, without blunting your sword or theirs. Our theology should be strong and able to take impact, but it should never be so stout that change is not possible. The Bible says the same thing, it's the outside assumption and perspective of what the Bible says that is broken and breaking down. The only way to fix this is to have the open and honest conversation about it, with those willing to have that conversation. And to remember that these conversations can be with believing brothers and sisters, and with non-believers as well.
So dig into the bible, with both your hands and your teeth. And when you have finished that, do it it again. Attend a Seminary that is inside the realm of Christianity, and filter it through the Bible. If you disagree, formulate an opinion from context of scripture, and present it in gentleness. We learn best in conflict and opposition, but remember not every opponent is your enemy, and sometimes it's just training.

That’s not “evidence” …it’s a personal emotional reaction…a totally subjective response.
There’s nothing wrong with feeling joy or relief …that’s understandable.
We may agree that Theists rely on special pleading and confirmation bias to believe in false gods …but it just so happens that you happen to believe in the real God…knowing you must be right about that creates an urgency to be totally convicted,

@@victorcharlie7491 I understand your point…and I’m willing to believe you are in earnest.
You have nothing to gain from lying to me about these personal experiences so I’m believing you.
You were praying (but not necessarily under extraordinary distress or seeking anything special or different from any other devotional prayer time).
You felt a tremendous powerful surge which you describe as a mighty wind…I have had similar experiences when I was a theist and I personally understand that it’s difficult to describe …wind works for you…I understand the analogy very well.
I once had a vision of heaven during communion…it was very powerful…really wonderfully vivid.
Such experiences are reported by people all over the world and from era to era and religion to religion.
Such experiences are consistent with what one may reliably know and understand as a neurological phenomenon.
No supernatural explanation is necessary to assess such personal neurological phenomena.
My experiences (like yours) were genuine, authentic and existential …I consider myself fortunate to have had those experiences (and I’m sympathetic with anyone who has such experiences that aren’t positive).
But that’s not “evidence” that a real supernatural, invisible being described in ancient Hebrew and Greek texts was personally revealing itself inside your mind.
It’s a personal narrative…and that’s fine…really…sometimes people have extraordinary personal experiences that transcend normal personal perceptions…we always have.
You and I both have a personal testimony about somewhat similar transcendent experiences.
You personally interpret yours as confirmation that your supernatural beliefs are true.
But, That’s meaningful only to yourself and those who agree with you,
it isn’t meaningful ‘evidence’ when considered objectively.
Saying it qualifies as ‘evidence’ is a misappropriation of the word.
My interpretation of my experiences as being neurological in nature is consistent with scientific evidence about how our minds function…it’s still personally important…that’s only natural.
How does misappropriation of scientific terminology serve the teachings of Christ?

Mike and staff: I have an idea. I would love if you would make specific clips of some of the best questions. This would make it easier to share with friends/family who might not want to watch the whole twenty questions. For example, I really love how Mike answered question 9. I thought of many people I wanted to share it with.
Maybe subscribers could vote on their favorite questions.
Also, another fun idea: subscribers/listeners could vote on their favorite questions and Mike could do a longer video expounding on the winning question.
What I love the most about Mike is his love for the Bible. It’s so contagious!

I am coming back to Christianity. To be honest, I was always doing wrong before. I believed in God in my late teens and throughout my 20s but i never had God in my heart or mind or a priority . One night i had a dream that scared me about my wife's salvation. My family is now going to church, and I am trying my best to live a good life in God's eyes. My question is about the book of Enoch. Does it hold any value or any truths ?

I am so happy and rejoicing that you are being drawn back to the Lord!! My advice to you is to not focus on the practices of Christianity more than getting to know Jesus himself and following him personally. As for Enoch, some traditions consider it Scripture but most do not. Personally I think it is a very useful historical book and is good to read, but it is not infallible or inspired by the Holy Spirit. Best of luck to you in your journey, my friend!

Enoch isn't part of the biblical Canon for several good reasons. Here is what I found.
The Book of Enoch is an ancient Jewish religious work, ascribed by tradition to Enoch, the great-grandfather of Noah. It is not included in the biblical canon used by Jews, apart from Beta Israel. Most Christian denominations and traditions may accept the Book of Enoch as having some historical or theological interest, but they generally regard it as non-canonical. Here are the top reasons why the Book of Enoch is not included in the Bible according to biblical scholars:
      1. **Historical Context and Authenticity**: The Book of Enoch was written much later than the books included in the Hebrew Bible. This later authorship raised questions about its authenticity and relevance as a divinely inspired text.
      2. **Jewish Canonization Process**: The Jewish canon was solidified around the first century A.D., and by that time, the Book of Enoch was not widely accepted or used in Jewish religious practices. The Jewish community primarily determined the Old Testament canon, and the Book of Enoch didn't make it into this selection.
      3. **Doctrine and Theology**: The Book of Enoch contains some theological and doctrinal content that differs from or contradicts other canonical texts. This inconsistency with established scripture was a significant factor in its exclusion.
      4. **Limited Early Adoption**: The Book of Enoch was not universally recognized or used by the early Christian Church. While it did have some influence in certain Christian communities, it was never widely accepted across the broader Christian world.
      5. **Language and Geographic Limitations**: The Book of Enoch was primarily preserved in Ge'ez, an ancient Ethiopian language, which limited its accessibility and influence in other regions where different languages were spoken.
      6. **Influence of Church Fathers**: Early Church Fathers and councils played a significant role in forming the Christian biblical canon. Many of these influential figures did not regard the Book of Enoch as canonical, affecting its status in the Christian tradition.
      7. **Absence in Ancient Manuscripts**: The Book of Enoch was not found among the manuscripts of the Septuagint (Greek Old Testament) or among the Dead Sea Scrolls, suggesting that it was not widely regarded as Scripture in early Jewish and Christian communities.
      Good luck!

Brother Winger, Thank you so much for what you do! For over 40 years I have had the question on suffering that you addressed in Question #17. Because God is love (1st John 4:16), I knew that "love" had to be the answer. You gave me that answer today. God knew us before He formed us in our mother's womb. If He had stopped evil at its' inception, none of us would have been born (For there is no one righteous, no not one. Romans 3:10) He IS long suffering! What a patient, loving Father!
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (2nd Peter 3:9)

The following is an excerpt from the National Park Service (USA).
The Article is titled: Plate Tectonics the Unifying Theory of Geology
[And As you know in the context of scientific inquiry the word “theory” is not an opinion or a hunch.]
“Plate tectonics has revolutionized the way we view large features on the surface of the Earth. Earth’s internal processes were previously thought to operate in a vertical fashion, with continents, oceans, and mountain ranges bobbing up and down, without much sideways movement. But the acceptance of continental drift and other evidence for large lateral motions changed all that. Now it’s understood that Earth’s internal processes can move large plates of Earth’s outer shell great horizontal distances. Plate tectonics thus provides “the big picture” of geology; it explains how mountain ranges, earthquakes, volcanoes, shorelines, and other features tend to form where the moving plates interact along their boundaries”

Jesus says believe and get baptized to be saved (Mark 16:16), the apostle Peter says repent and get baptized in the Name of Jesus for the forgiveness of sins(Acts 2:38), Anianas tells Saul Now what are you waiting for, arise and get baptized and wash away your sing (Acts 22:16), the apostle Peter says in his epistle now baptism now saves us.(1st Peter 3:20), In all you must hear the Gospel, believe, confess Jesus is God incarnate (Romans 10:8-10) Repent , get baptized, and last continue till death (Revelation 2:10). May God and this Bless you

Hi, Pastor Mike. I've been really enjoying listening to your 20 question series after I found out about you.
17:08 Question for you: how did Paul know Abraham thought GOD would raise Isaac from death? I always assumed Abraham would have thought GOD would provide another son after Isaac--it's what I would have thought if I were in Abraham's shoes, going up the mountain to sacrifice Isaac.

Earlier in Genesis 17, God promised Abraham many descendants through Isaac specifically.
"Then God said, 'Yes, but your (Abraham's) wife Sarah will bear you a son, and you will call him Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him'"
Since Isaac did not have children when he was about to be sacrificed, Abraham had to believe that God could raise him from the dead to fulfill His earlier promise.
