  • Schnellecke Logistics, a company specializing in the assembly and distribution of automotive parts, recently undertook significant steps towards the automation and digitization of its logistical processes. This step was realized through the implementation of active digital twin technology by Anasoft at their Bratislava branch.
Peter Bílik, a smart industry solution designer from Anasoft, explains that digital transformation is not meant to replace people but to help them overcome their physiological limitations and limited cognitive abilities. This philosophy is reflected in the use of artificial intelligence and IoT technologies within the project.
The aim of the project was to digitize and automate logistical processes and warehouse management using the smart industry system Emans. This system was primarily focused on ensuring optimal storage and retrieval of materials, maintaining a smooth flow of materials (using the JIT method), and delivering them to output workstations.
One of the key innovations was the implementation of active digital twins. These digital twins are virtual copies of physical objects in a digital environment, capable of actively entering processes and performing certain services.
The Schnellecke Slovakia warehouse was transformed into a modern eleven-story rack system with autonomous robots and intelligent algorithmic control of material flows. Thanks to RFID technology, each manipulated container was monitored and controlled.
The EMANS system ensures constant maintenance of warehouse capacities at a predefined level while also monitoring the quality control of components. This led to a minimization of errors and optimization of processes.
The result of this innovation was not only a significant improvement in efficiency but also an increase in safety and an improvement in ergonomics for employees. The investment in the Emans system proved to be extremely beneficial, not only in terms of return on investment but also in terms of employee satisfaction and process stability.
This example shows how modern technologies such as smart factories, digital twins, intralogistics, assembly, WMS, and MES systems can significantly contribute to efficiency and innovation in the industrial environment.
