      I normally heal, but I was running the wife's paladin through a time walking dungeon today. The tank was chain pulling like mad, the healer was begging for a second to get mana back, and the other dps were dying regularly. It was a total shitshow, and it ended with the tank not picking up a patrolling mob, leaving it to me (stonecore big mobs aren't to be taken lightly), and then complaining and leaving when I died. It's shit like this that keeps me in guild groups for these things

    • @Juan-mc7ei

      I'm in a guild and I'll run with them frequently, but I take PuGs as a personal challenge. Right now running as a feral bearkin tree, I tend to get tank or heal roles. If I can keep up with the PuG, learn how all my oh shit buttons work, I'll be better for it later on.
      On a side note, after years of doing this, I've learned to just let things be in PuGs. Hunter pet taunts? Let it tank...probably won't get heals. The hunter will res repeatedly or learn to turn off tuant. Tank I'm healing chain pulls faster than my mana allows? Tell the group I need a second to drink, sit and watch the tank pull and die. "Oh, what happened here?" *res* (I should mention my guild's MT tends to be able to be able to tank a couple packs without heals anyway...)

    i think viewers need to understand Preacher's choices a little better... If you want to be a good, solid healer in complex raid settings - you're going to want as FEW distractions as possible. High end raiders know that a split second distraction could mean a the difference between a wipe and a win. If you want to insure you're being the best you can be, you will flip Preacher's list in reverse. Druid/shaman/holy priest are pure healing with no dps distractions.
    The other classes will be :
    1. Loads of fun to play (they'll also make you more tired/give you carpel tunnel as you will never be able to rest)
    2. Much more challenging

    • @Wee_Man435
      @Wee_Man435 8 років тому +13

      shaman has the elemental lavasurge procs from flame shock actually do decently well, and druids can flip into boomie. If youre not at least attempting to dps when theres no healing requirement youre not doing the best u can be, youre just being lazy. Even smite spam is something.

    • @duberdurm
      @duberdurm 8 років тому +4

      I was thinking something similar yesterday when looking at another one of his vids in which his rank was the almost the exact reverse of what I would have ranked. He likes complex classes, but that mixed with some boss mechanics can be really frustrating. If the boss enrages because your healers were too busy healing to worry about doing negligible damage, the the fault is with the dps classes.

    • @kriszti2397

      Preach has an opinion that doesnt mean everyone finds mw monk the most fun to play, and that resto druid is boring. And i never found mw monk healing a challenge, and resto shaman is not a challenge either. New disc maybe is, but that spec is out of my list, simply because they are not a pure healing spec, and they wont be as viable for some content.
      Also i didnt find disc fun to play.
      So mythic players will choose the boring healing classes, and the others can have some fun...thats not how this works, sorry.
      My list would be resto druid>mw monk>holy paladin>resto shaman>holy priest>disc priest. From fun perspective.

      What are you talking about man?
      Druid has no dps distractions? I think this is the most stressing class to play as healer. Being nagged about changing to boomy or feral to dps this and dps that in a manner of this and manner of that.

    • @swock6084
      @swock6084 8 років тому +1

      If you dont dps as a healer you should not be doing mythic raids at all. Blizzard is copying alot from Final Fantasy 14 but i guess healers having to dps i one of the good things.

    I'm a Holy Priest main, it is the most fucking fun thing ever. Spirit of Redemption isn't even that useful but it's so fucking awesome. It's just fun to fuck around and no one can complain because you're keeping them alive and healing them. I find it quite healing quite natural for me and is a lot less stressful than playing any other role.

    My guild raids twice a week for 2 1/2 hours per day, and even though they're bad I have to say it's a lot more fun. Because you're playing with people you know in a comfortable atmosphere and you're all doing what you love, and everyone fucks around between bosses. We have a lot of baddies and are generally doing 10-14 man groups, but it's still a LOT more fun than pugging.
    And I'm fine with that, I don't WANT to be hyper competitive, but normals/heroics are a lot more fun than LFR's by a lot.

      It's all about playing for fun. Anybody reading this going 'that sounds cool' who lives within Pugland, think about what you want to achieve within raiding or PvP. Do you want to clear everything and be super hardcore? You can find a guild for that. Do you want to challenge yourself but with like a 2/3 night a week raiding commitment? You can find a guild for that. Do you want to just have fun and enjoy the company? You can find a guild for that too. Preach is totally right. Even with a bad guild tank vs a bad LFG tank; it will be way more fun with the guildie; and if you notice something like 'dude, if you used Ignore Pain a bit more, it would make my life way easier' they're infinitely less likely to be an arsehat to you.

    lol my choice was made the moment I decided I was going to be a healer in legion: Druid. I only have one real reason for this though and it's kinda silly: I LOVE transforming into different animals, flying around cities, changing into a cat in the raids to be a bit faster, become a tree to increase healing, etc. It has NOTHING to do with the actual mechanics but it's just the feel of the class :p

    You're so right about healing being a thankless job. Out of the last 5 raids I've done on my resto shaman, I think i've only been thanked for a res twice, and never for healing or dispelling or using my utility spells (and I guess there were a moment or two where I should have been). The best you get is a simple "gj guys" at the kill.
    What keeps me going though is that I don't feel like I need to be thanked to feel accomplished as a healer. If it takes ages to down a boss, then you can go away from the fight knowing that it was really you who kept everyone up long enough to defeat it, no one has to tell you. So the longer a boss kill takes, the more I enjoy myself because I know that I had the harder challenge to overcome out of most (maybe not all - tanks? I've never tried one) of the raid, and I managed it. I take a sort of a silent pride in being the glue that keeps the rest of the raid together and fighting, and that pays off after every single boss.

      I completely agree. But it goes both ways. While we as healers don't really get noticed for the good stuff we do, when I've been raiding, I can't remember a time where I have been blamed for the wipe as a healer. We stay in the shadows for the most part

    • @XxfutureunicornxX

    When the Monk was first announced, I was hating it for some reason. I didn't like it at all. Then I played it and fell in love with it, it became my favorite class in the game, followed up by Druid (Moonkin) and Warlock (Destro). Know that I'm playing the pre-patch it feels like falling in love all over again, to me they absolutely nailed Windwalker and Mistweaver (don't play Brewmaster)! There to me is no competition on which character will be my Legion main. I can't wait to get my hands on the Artifact Weapons, especially Sheilun.

    Your commentary at the end is exactly why I tend to thank tanks and healers (assuming I'm not one) at the end of every run. My guild needs DPS at least to start, so I'm doing that with them, but testing on the beta with DPS, always thanks given just to make sure they know I appreciate it (and healing myself between pulls so they don't have to).

    • @xychogaming
      @xychogaming 8 років тому

      So the pre-patch testing is kind of a joke to be honest. I was actually REALLY surprised they even made the class changes this early when they are ALL tuned around the artifact weapon. They only gave you half a spec. I have topped the healing meter on every class/spec, including Disc, so yes it is "viable" but it was by far the hardest to top with and the only reason i was able to was because i knew the fight better than the other healers. Now put on a equal playing field with actual good competitive players disc will always be on the bottom. No matter what your "sim" is telling you. If I was to main a priest what I would do is go Holy priest for progression and then switch to Disc for dungeons and mid way through raiding by refunding the points after full artifact knowledge research (at that point you are gaining roughly 1mil points a play session). Only way you will be kept around as Disc in the beginning is if your other healers are just trash.

  • @Peterec123
    @Peterec123 8 років тому +8

    Keep in mind that Preach have the mindset of a competitive dps which is very different from the vast majority of people playing healers today, who (myself included) have the mindset of a support player.
    The key difference between the two mindsets is the dps will always try to push themselves to do slightly better with a high risk of failure, while the support is more than happy with simple stability and low risk of failure.
    This is why you should take his opinion on healers with a grain of salt. What he thinks is great fun mixing in dps with your healing, I see as childish nonsense and a pointless distraction from your main task. Neither opinion is wrong, they are simply different.

    I appreciate the message you did at the end. I love healing, but the pugs hurt. I've been trying to cap all the healers and I have a lot of stories about them. Like one time in Skyreach I had an Elixir of Rapid Mind I popped it on the first boss in the dungeon and suddenly my tank appeared to move slower, until after the third boss he just wouldn't move, we all got pass the wind (with the help of my feathers) except for the tank and he just sat there for 8 minutes. We thought he had to afk and I watched in pain as my xp potion slowly expired. Then when it finally did he finally said "That's what you get for wasting your gold on it" and finally moved through the wind. Now they are only about 5k on my server but it still pissed me off. I was at 98 when I left that dungeon, I just had to stop healing for a few after that. Hope you guys enjoyed this tale though.

      No the other specs don't heal from DPS but several of them have synergies with DPS. For instance the paladin and monk can lower some healing cool downs by DPS'ing. There are also times when a healer doesn't need to cast a heal (their hots are enough or no one is taking damage). Those moments can be a time for healers to break out their DPS.

    • @onikabuto.

      Only Disc heals by doing dmg. The rest of the healers do dmg to make the dungeon/raid go faster/so they have something to do when they're not healing.

      It's mostly because of the artifacts and so they want to give you a kit to do solo content with (World quests, leveling, artifact leveling, Class hall, and general questing), but it's not that essential to your rotation (except for Disc maybe)

  • @grip7777

    Seriously, getting together with my guild for a mythic dungeon can be the best thing done all week for me. Not only the banter between us (a few of us are fairly new to the game but are learning fast) but also the feeling of WANTING to perform better with your friends is also there.
    I wouldn't say this only applies to Tanks and healers, I mainly play dps and comparing running dungeons in a PuG with randoms is a world apart from doing it with my friends. Not because it's efficient, or because the boss dies faster or stuff like that. The reason for me is that I gain an understanding of what is going on in the dungeon from everyone playing and time really starts to fly in there.
    Get into a good guild though. It doesn't have to be a progressing mythic guild, just a guild that has potential for friends to be made while progressing in the game together.

    To me, this is easily the most alien video you've ever made.
    I mained Holy Pala in WoD and with these changes, I can't even stand to look at it any more. Say what you will about the "light well" playstyle, at least it was consistent in its theme. This new version has no identity or "class fantasy" whatsoever. Instead, it's a mess of 3 different playstyles that are un-developed and mix about as well as oil and water.

      Relhio And the Legion version is better... how?
      You got a new spell, light of the martyr, that is completely worthless because the effective healing it does is pathetically low.
      You got an entire talent row dedicated to auras, all of which are under-tuned to the point of meaninglessness.
      You got the proximity gimmick, which gets completely kneecapped by Beacon of the Lightbringer.
      You got an artifact weapon that doesn't contain a single decent major trait
      You got a selection of legendaries where you're not so much targeting the one that is best, and more the one that is the least terrible.
      You lost the vast majority of your utility. Double hands/blessings? Dead. Divine Protection? Butchered. Hand of Sacrifice? Neutered.
      The uniqueness of being a holy knight with plate and sword'n board? Pruned, so we can be like almost every other healer with a 2H glued to our backs.

Different playstyles? what you have to go in melee to do some dps during downtimes now? All the healers now dps in mythic+ content lol undeveloped!? but your okay with the WoD Holy Paladin >.> I actually feel like a bad ass pally, especially in pvp. It's a shame that disc just doesn't work in high-level play. You won't see a single main-disc priest in world top 300 mythic guild; you might see it for one or two fights where it could be broken due to damage being buffed (Gorefiend as an example). It requires too much setup to be viable on progress, it costs too much mana to blanket the raid with atonement and even if you do, the HPS at best rivals a druid using tranquility, which they can now do on the move.
    They needed to get away from the absorb playstyle as it was broken. Sadly, disc priests are now broken in a different way.

    • @trysephiroth007

      We don't know what the numbers will be like when its actually time to raid. It could end up being overpowered.

    • @mithosyggdrasil9715
      @mithosyggdrasil9715 8 років тому +1

      I've topped plenty of healing in heroic raids after the pre-patch as Discipline. And Disc is underpowered at the moment in the pre-patch compared to Legion so that should be telling you something. And this is while contributing ~20K+ dps. It's intended, in any case, that Disc doesn't output as much pure healing as a restoration druid or a holy priest (although they can still easy outplay them if the priest is good) but it makes up for it in DPS that isn't anything to sneeze at.

    • @Wanglord
      @Wanglord 8 років тому +1

      I didn't mention numbers, at all. The problem is the inherent design, not the current numbers. Every healer in the game can react to things happening (raid member fucking up and taking too much damage, surprise raid-wide damage due to someone failing a mechanic etc) whereas disc priests can only prepare for what they know is coming up, ie. DBM timers and the likes. It wouldn't be an issue if they could have a 100% uptime on atonement on everyone in a mana efficient way, but they can't (and would be overpowered if they could). The AoE application of atonement is somewhat random, and spamming plea will OOM you quickly. The only other option is Power Word: Shield which is on a cooldown.
      Even if it put out twice the numbers of a resto shaman, it'd still be hard to find a spot for a disc in a raid as Shamans still bring extremely powerful cooldowns and better reactive healing.

      Bawls McMegalong You must have forgotten about Shadow Mend, Rapture, etc. Trust me, Disc is not in a bad state in raid-wide healing lmao

    • @xychogaming
      @xychogaming 8 років тому

      Honestly, have you tested this in the Beta in raids? Disc is in a bad state for raid-wide healing. You can pop rapture all you want and spam bubbles to get atonement out which only will last 12-15 seconds each and then start dpsing but it just takes too long to do and is completely mana inefficient. The artifact weapon ability takes a couple seconds to do, the gcd per bubble is there, so you can really only put it on 5-6 people so you have time to dps. Radiance only applies to 3 people and roughly takes 3 seconds to do so and costs 72k mana. Disc is just not capable of true raid-wide-healing without making a lot of sacrifices. They can do party healing an key player healing just fine and thats what they will be responsible for but not raid-wide healing. If they made it so that radiance hit more people then it would be worth it, or if atonement lasted longer so you could spread it AND then dps that would be fine, but right now it is not designed that way and no skill will really change that. They are capping the disc priest because if it could do all that, then why bring some of the other healers? You could try and blanket the raid but you will run out of mana so fast in legion you would be making a monk look like he has infinite mana...thats a bad thing. Also, if you really are concerned about being top you could choose the shadow 100 talent but it just plain sucks. Great you are top healer on the meters but its such a selfish talent choice. Only way it would be good is if it caused atonement but it doesnt makng it garbage. And shadow mend?...not a raid ability either.

    Without assuming too much, you've played basically all specs and classes and don't main healing. From my perspective, the things you seemed to like about healing reminded me of what I like in a dps spec. Complexity and choices being a large theme in that, and I think it's because it's something you don't normally do. So to make it AS interesting as you can for a short time, these are things that really accomplish that. However, I've found that in the long run, too much of these things without balance can be exhausting and make healing feel like strain and after 100+ wipes on the same boss, it becomes a chore. It also can make it so you have to use this complexity all the time(procs, weaving buffs, much more), just to be effective, and it doesn't always line up ideally with boss encounters. It can fall flat, be frustrating to work with, and end up actually taking AWAY choices. Where a better balance of some procs and weaving abilities for a big pay off and some more straight forward choices can make planning for exact situations with maximum healing output/mana efficiency actually feels like it has a higher skill cap and more worth to a healer.
    TLDR; Seems like you like the mini-games of healing, fun if you're only occasionally healing. Functionally, I feel they can take away choices, feel exhausting long term and like a chore, and personally I look for different things about the actual healing part of healing. Still enjoyed watching your video and your interesting perspective!

    Discipline through the past three expansions hasn't been a healer, it's been a doctor. The adage "prevention beats a cure" was the perfect description for the spec and its motto, and that was a powerful and unique concept. Atonement was fun in mists, and let you take an entirely different approach to the same spec, while still pushing an incredibly high HPS, which isn't something other classes have ever had available for their healers. It's awesome to know what has been my main spec of the last five years had been the most varied and polarizing healing option throughout the lifespan of the game, but Legion is where I get off the bus. It's shadow and holy for me from now on (though I'll still level the disc talent tree, because I can't bear to burn that bridge, in case things change).

    • @GerblerM
      @GerblerM 8 років тому +33

      There's a lot wrong with what you just said, but I'll address the two biggest things. First, you're saying that personal opinions are somehow exempt from criticism, or factual grounding, which is silly on the face of it. I could have the personal opinion that the earth is flat; that doesn't mean my opinion isn't wrong just because it's an opinion.
      Second, at no point does he preface this by even hinting that he's ranking the specs on some arbitrary personal level. He simply says and I quote: "...In these comparisons we split the categories into three: the terrible specs, the very, very good specs, but not spectacular, and then the spectacular specs...". Any reasonable person would conclude from his language, and the preface that he's done "a lot" of testing for the video, that he means to rank them in order of their efficacy.
      Finally, my point is this: He's dead wrong on that ranking. a cursory glance at any website / discord / or spending 2 seconds to talk to any healer worth a damn would have corrected him.

    • @CloakingDonkey
      @CloakingDonkey 8 років тому +154

      His rankings are about enjoyment, gameplay and depth, not numbers. People listen to this guy? lol"

    • @trysephiroth007

    i used an excel sheet to narrow my main down. i'm stuck on blood, holy paladin, guardian/resto druid, resto shaman at the moment. it depends on what i end up feeling for in legion. do i want to tank, raid heal, tank heal or group heal basically. it's sad that i love healing with resto druid so much. been playing it since wotlk and i can't get bored of it. but i still kind of want to try something new aswell. the leap from resto druid to holy paladin was extremely huge for me since it focuses more on single target heals (in comparison) and it looks like the paladin doesn't have the "oh shit" button as resto shaman and resto druid have currently.

    Hey Preach, been a fan of yours for a few years now but I had to respond to your final words.
    I've been a healer since classic WoW. Used pugs, used LFR, and have been a top raider in a "hardcore" progression guild. Never been quite cutting edge, but I've seen just about everything this game has to offer. I left the guild-raiding scene in Cataclysm, and have been pugging my way through WoD.
    It's not easy. It's not always rewarding. But I've still always found some enjoyment in it. There's something about sloshing through the mud that entertains me. Even if my groups were terrible players with terrible attitudes, I felt rewarded just by having the experience. A thankless job, to be sure, but I've never expected thanks from anyone for anything. So, when I go into a pug group and wipe against a boss, I don't leave angry and frustrated; if anything I walk away with more resolve to do better next time.
    If my group is trashtalking myself or each other, I stand silent; amused but not discouraged. Some of the best moments in a pug group happens when everyone is at each others' throats constantly bickering and name calling; and yet, we persevere. So called "toxic" players come in and try to get under everyone's skin, but are, in truth, just another kind of obstacle you can learn how to navigate.
    Muscling through the swamps, step by step, is my way of having fun. Failure is always an option, and safety is not guaranteed. I go into a pug expecting nothing; neither failure, success, nor friends. Not having a guild to turn to makes me feel more self-reliant, and I thoroughly enjoy that kind of game play.
    I understand I'm probably in the minority, but I wanted to offer you some perspective.

    @Preacher, playing a healer is a thankless job. All we do is look at bars all day lol. Thanx for the recognition.
    Very interesting vid b/c right now its about the output of HPS. So I guess healing will be different in Legion where we will be needing to dps as well as healing. I have mained a Holy Pally since mid of BC. And have adjusted to all the changes. HP will always be needed in a raid. They have the strongest direct heals and tanking healing. I feel that in Legion raiding a great healing comp will be: Pally, sham, druid, priest. I see double sham being meta b/c as Preacher said, the shamans kit is amazing. Just remember everyone its about your value as a player in your class as a whole. You have to be diverse and be able to be amazing healers and amazing dps. Just like DPS that have a tank spec... you should be able to DPS and Tank amazingly as well. B/c you never know what your raiding comp will call for due to strats or absent people.

    Ha, healing pugs has always, always been terribad. I remember that one of my criteria for my raid healers in Cata was that they had stopped QQing about healing pugs. At that point I knew they were ready for anything. I would add that a healer's boon is to find a tank friend to run with. Life becomes 100000x easier when you're with a tank who knows his class, uses his cds, and understands how to pull properly - you can usually get through just about anything then. Thanks for bringing the point forward, Preach.

    Hey Preach. As a main resto druid i wanted to add one significant (for me) change and that is MASTERY. I hated how it worked in past expansions (basically i had to refresh buff everu 15ish second) and im really glad that they changed it. Im still not sure how good new mastery is (since i only saw what is currently live) but i like this aspect of focusing on certain characters by having more hots on them.
    Video as usual is great. Keep up the good work!

    Hey your so right, I've been unintentionally DPSing without thinking about it on the healer, before there was honestly no point, now I'm constantly competing with the 3rd dps and I can honestly say that I feel that my damage IS making a difference (more so in dungeons), This adds so much more value to my healer class, I love it!

    I like the after talk Preach, keep doing them if possible. I've been there too many times when I used to main dps...I had enough, when WotLK hit I main'd DK tank and have been that in each dungeon/raid since. You want something done right you have to do it yourself.
    Holy Pally does look fun, it was the most fun heals I'd played prior to Legion but looks even more intense, can't wait!

    @Preach I'm trying to still decide what healer I should play I have narrowed the choice to Shaman or Monk, my question to you is about the heals throughput and hps, etc. I know its not all about the hps but I'm relatively new to healing (started healing in WoD) and I got kicked out of a lot of raids for low hps even though I was doing my job. it seemed in WoD everything was focused on gear/trinks/4-piece if you didn't have these you were a shit healer even if your doing great for your ilvl/gear. I love my shammy and my monk I'm just torn right now what to move forward with first like you said in another vid I want only one main.

    As a 13/13Mythic Raider & Gladiator ranked Pvper with Mistweaver i've been bouncing back and forth between staying MW or switching to R sham moving forward - I've ended up deciding to main the Resto Shaman for legion. I liked the Shamans talents more - opportunity for the chain heal spam build, wellspring/cloudburst burst heal build and many many more I felt like I was given more choice (even if talents are more passive in nature) With my MW I found I was only liking ONE talent in every talent row and was forcing myself into one style of play.
    Also I found Monks to be very mana heavy compared to every other healer I tested on the beta as well I found things like Lifecycles forcing you to play in a certain way. It was tilting me having to go "vivify, envelop, vivify, envelop, vivify, envelop" to conserve mana with my only alternative mana conservation being the talent that makes me kick the boss to save mana and that's not always an option now that monks can be triggered by ranged mechanics.
    All in all I too liked every healer I tried - found paladins boring as all hell but could comfortably play any healer and be happy overall.
    Great video - I subbed thanks for your testing time :)

    I like the whole theme that Blizz tried to do with Holy Paladins this expansion because, like you said, Hpals as lightwells was quite dull. However, I feel like the DPS aspect of Hpals in the pre-patch is completely wasted. I feel like I'm just wasting GCD's with my DPS abilities. I could be spending this GCD pre-casting a heal on the tank, or waiting to immediately use a utility spell like a Blessing or maybe throw out a dispel. I would enjoy things much more if instead of just doing damage, Crusader Strike (at baseline, without talents) would heal someone for a precentage of damage done, or reduce a cooldown, or give me a healing buff. Maybe have consecration place a damage reduction on anyone standing in it. Maybe have judgement work like denounce (which I miss greatly), and prevent crits, or reduce enemy armor, or anything. If Im supposed to be a frontline healer protecting my allies and smiting my enemies, shouldn't I be more supportive than just tickling a raid boss when I have a free GCD?

      then either you're doing it wrong, or your group is complete crap. You'll probably mostly be doing tank healing, since you're up there with them. But healers are never forced to do dps: that was the whole point of getting rid of holy power for Hpals. You only do dps when you want to. Don't pass judgement on it until the artifact hits though too: it could completely change your gameplay.

      Or even use that GCD to cast my almost 3 second holy light. Worst change imo.

    I've finally figured out what I'm playing for legion, a Shaman. All 3 specs just look great and I've never actually seriously played a Shaman so it will be new and fresh.

    2:49 "double (healing), seems pretty rubbish" Thank you. Healers rely more on constant up times and response. I want "let's cast some spells because damage is coming up", not "I hope I roll a 5 or 6 because damage is coming up". But then again, they are trying to reduce the amount of skills we have, so I guess that's why we have more procs in healing and added skills in talent trees. This can be debated, since I can see someone can enjoy getting extra heals if they either want to top the meters or see high numbers for frequently, but I certainly do not enjoy that. (That being said, I'm still picking moment of clarity on resto druid since the options are either more shields or extended healing. I may use Flourish on raids where people are ticking constant aoe ticking damage, but other than that, I don't see myself saving anyone from a minor shield or longer hots.)

    Geez! Thanks Preacher! I used my level 100 boost for a Mistweaver Monk after your review and now it is my favorite healer hands down. Now I have four instead of three specs /classes I have to choose from. Before I leveled and played the Monk I was down to Resto Shaman > Holy Priest > Shadow Priest all of which I played / leveled in Beta.
    As of today its Mistweaver > Shadow Priest > Resto Shaman > Holy Priest. I have played a Priest as my main since Vanilla so I am strongly feeling the need for a change. May be time to play for fun instead of Best Class / Spec per expansion as Preach suggest. The good thing is it seems all classes are viable at the moment future nerfs not withstanding.

    I like watching Preachs clips, although I can't agree with him on any of his recent rankings (like Ret, love holy priest - mb I'm terrble).
    Although I'm wondering about this high end raiding discussion - is anyone of the top guilds really getting influenced by this? Shouldn't they know already what's worth playing and what not?
    Anyway, thanks for sharing your thoughts!

    Thank you for that message at the end, Preach. In the PUG world, healers are the punching bags. If you aren't surrounded by the right people, it's a thankless job. Its an environment that discourages people from healing, and we need MORE of us, not less. My guild is struggling to field more and more healers because of the stress involved.
    A message for everyone else. Thank your healers! :) We work hard to keep you alive so you can bring the big dick deeps, and if you see one of us do something great, bring attention to it. It really makes our days, and it goes a long way to keeping up morale. We enjoy keeping you all up and running, but a pat on the shoulder for a well timed Revival really does wonders.

    I love that tacked on bit at the end where Preach learns how it feels to babysit a bunch of children in a dungeon as a healer... This is why I only enter dungeons with 3 guild mates coming along.
