Buying a place for 250 mil is definitely possible then when you are traveling rent it out or use as airbnb I lived in Indonesia for a long time and rented nice places for around 10-15 juta a year

To be picky is your prerogative. You earned the money, you spend the money. I personally didn't like any of those villas. I guess I'm even pickier than you :) I got to have a serious "cozy" feel to it and none of those 5 got that. I think the right one is still out there-and there are a lot of villas in Bali to choose from if you have the strength to keep searching. Can't wait for the next part of villa hunting :) Good luck!
Not sure if exchange rates changed. But checking the math (2:14) $18.50 US Dollars = 268,190.80 IDR (Indonesian Rupiah). Think you accidentally moved the decimal. All good...was just trying to do the math myself. The 1st place is really nice. You say it's 270 Million IDR (that would be approx. $18,596 USD / Year) or appox. $1,549.00 per/month USD. I think I saw the first place listed on 'Bali Long Term Rentals' for a little less 250 Million (IDR). So, not exactly cheap....
Finally...thank you. Took till you started the second property before you first added 'for the year' after the price, because until then I was trying to fathom if it was per month or for 6 months... I'm familiar with pricing in Phuket, and spent some time researching Bali, but that threw me completely when you starting mentioning numbers and not the time period.

"banjar" means village, every neighbourhood in Indonesia is grouped in a banjar/village system. It's basically a community of people who live around the area and if you live in a particular banjar, it means you need to chip in on the cost of security or future banjar events (religious or non religious) and the cost varies. With that being said, you can always ask for help to your banjar/village chief if you need it, let's say you need a letter of residency or you need someone to watch your house while you're gone travelling etc. I hope it helps

Dega Jago My wife is a local bro we can actually buy land under my name but there's a new law that states that foreigners can only own property for a maximum of 30 years in that case i would probably become a citizen and therefore gain rights to that lamd know many bule who've done the same btw i love Indonesia

I feel that if you can afford a few things, it would be much more rewarding to really make a place your own, rather than going with someone else's "canvas." It would feel more like your own home, rather than just another holiday accommodation maybe? The choice remains yours to make, and what I have learned from you thus far, I'm sure you will make the right one.
