@Donhimesama Daifutari So I read that it took the original team of 18 people 80 hours to beat it, right after Perfect Defense and that would have to be some time after the devs put out a cryptic video to troll the community. But yeah hard to compare it sounds, one is a bullet hell and the other is a mmorpg. In the end though he was beaten, and shown possible by the devs. I would say Inbachi when I think about it.
My personally ranking of these games (from favorite to least favorite) 1) Until dawn - the golden standard, most immersive/interesting plot, best characters, the scariest monsters, and overall the most fun 2) The quarry - a nice return to formula. I liked the cheesy, 80s movie horror tone the game had. the characters were arguable the most entertaining out of all the SM games with the best quotes and jokes (they were a little bit cringe at times but i got over it) the werewolf design was meh but they were still scary enough and the characters being able to get infected was a nice addition to the game. I thought the game had the most variety of scenarios of all the SM games as well. So not as good as until dawn but a step in the right direction 3) House of ashes - the setpieces are what make the game honestly. Outside of Salim, the characters are either boring (Nick, Eric,) or insufferable (Rachel, jason). However, I loved the vampires and all the insane sequences you have whenever you come across them. I loved the underground alien city section. Not only was it a cool design, but also so eery and creepy. So overall, I liked the game for setpieces and creatures, not the characters 4) Man of medan - the plot twist is incredibly obvious from the opening prologue so I was never scared of any of the "creatures" in the game. The pirates were not a ingaging or scary threat. the characters aren't entertaining or interesting. The acting isn't very good and facial mocap is noticeably bad at times. The environment of the game is very boring on the eyes and sometimes gave me motion sickness. HOWEVER, I do like that similar to the quarry, the variety of scenarios you can get is cool. That's the only thing really puts this game above the next two. 5) The devil in me - I WANTED to like this game so badly, but the presentation of the game is too bad to ignore. The characters are boring, the acting is awful, the mocap is awful, none of characters have any real chemistry with one another so all of the dialogue in the game is very robotic, the graphics look like a high end PS3 game, and the game is also incredibly buggy. 6) little hope - I could write an entire essay about why this game is horrible. But I'll some it up with this. As bad as Man of medan and The devil in me is, at least in that game, the decisions you make actually matter. While little hope is literally "Illusion of choice: the game".

House of Ashes was such an incredible game. I was hoping that was the turn around in quality for the series. It was such a thrilling game with good drama and a great set of twists.
I disagree with HoA tbh... i found its middle portion excruciatingly boring. The intro + last act were good but as a whole it was very mid and had little character to it (but that's just my opinion). I much preffered this game I think, but nothing has beat Until Dawn
Jesus loved us enough to die on the cross for our sins. Turn from sin and turn to him and your life will never be the same We are also seeing more biblical prophecies being fulfilled.
House of Ashes was definitely the best one because despite still having a dumb twist (Vampires are a result of an Alien Virus) it was still a real supernatural threat compared to Little Hope and Man of Medan where they're both hallucinations (One being a group and one just being a crazy old man)
Honestly, Little Hope works incredibly as a story. Just because “it’s just in his head”, it doesn’t take away much. It’s a bit of a letdown because we expect something supernatural…but at the end of the day, this is the real horror - it’s always just in our heads. Our guilt, sadness, regret… There are countless amazing horror stories which could easily be explained by “it was just in their head(s)”. Doesn’t take away from the amazing story and development we can get, just like in Little Hope. Man of Medan was pretty meh, tho I cant quite put my finger on it. I love supernatural stuff, even more so if its inspired by Lovecraft or gothic horror, so I do have to say House of Ashes was amazing. This one tho, was the worst. Nothing supernatural, its just a below average story of a normal killer and his prey. None of the characters have any proper development and to me, the ending sucks.
@@viktor.m. I haven't seen much of this one but I do like the concept for a coop horror game to have people go against or try to work together in sadistic trap puzzles. With the motion capture and realistic style they could really play into the horror experience if they went full body horror. As for Dark Pictures Anthology in general I wish they were going for a more Supernatural Horror Cinematic Universe. I really like House of Ashes for it trying to have that connection to Until Dawn because it felt like yeah that's the perfect next step for them as a Horror Game Studio. And now they seem to have dropped it again (With this and Quarry)
@@viktor.m. The big issue everyone had with Little Hope was that it came a year after Man of Medan, which did exactly the same thing. It's already hard enough to get an audience to cheer and whoop at "and it was all a dream," let alone to write a second and have exactly the same "twist". I personally found it so frustrating because the story before that point had been SO good, there were so many questions about why this family was being reborn and killed in the same ways, were they cursed? What's going on! And then it felt like they ran out of time at the end, so they just decided "and it was all a psychotic breakdown", instead of having to come to a proper conclusion and answer any questions.
I wish you guys can show me as much love as you show this Channel! I know I’m not as good as him but I still make entertaining videos and with your help 1 day we will get there together 🫶🏼🌟Thanks
The story of Holmes is crazy, and just how widespread he did and how he got away with it for so long. If you’ve never heard it and have an interest in SK documentaries, I recommend it.
Please Charlie, after the fast and furious Irish travellers on horses racing for FAMILY. You absolutely have to watch their callout videos where they want to fight each other for family.
The story of HH Holmes "murder castle" is gruesome. He actually bought a hotel near the worlds fair in (I think) new york and murdered many women there after they left the fair.
The hotel wasnt actually a murder castle tho. Like it doesnt exist as it does in the game. Like he did actually build a hotel, but it didnt have trap doors and gas chamber rooms. Im surprised nobody in the chat was talking about that.
Herman Webster Mudgett, aka H. H. Holmes, actually had the hotel constructed himself using the money from life insurance policies he took out on his victims, filling it with secret passages to every room, a gas chamber, and a variety of other horrific things. The world's fair was in Chicago, not NY, and he murdered women from out of town who were staying at said hotel to visit the fair, not random local women leaving the fair. He'd usually try to kill them as soon as possible, before they had a chance to meet many/any locals, often before they'd even seen the fair once. He even purchased a glass blowing factory to use the kiln for burning bodies, as the kiln he put in the basement wasn't getting the job done fast enough, and had two partners helping him, both of which he murdered before kidnapping one partner's children, dragging them around the country, and killing them in different places, which is how he was caught. Some people say he even coined the term "serial killer" in a letter to the public he wrote from prison prior to being executed, but this is debatable. He was an utter fucking monster who was rumored to have killed over 200 people, though less than 100 killings were confirmed.
@@rasmusfrandsen1848 no this is false, sensationalism by the news at the time. There were some hidden rooms, but they were used for hiding furniture that Holmes had bought on credit and didnt intend to pay for

Before a cutscene started, I accidentally pulled up Mark's camera and in that whole cutscene he's holding the camera the whole time and it was sooo dumb and funny
This happened to me so many times lol. A touching moment between him and Kate was ruined because he had his camera right in front of his face.
I also got one in the end where Mark and Kate are supposed to be cuddled together ended up being Mark having his hand on Kate's shoulder and Kate leaning against nothing, so there was a giant empty space between them. Guess they were saving room for Jesus lol
These are usually some of my favorite videos Charlie makes but holy shit this one was so frustrating to watch.

I've seen Delirious and Cartoonz's gameplay and they had the same game breaking issues. This chapter maybe meant for a solo playthrough. I've seen a couple solo gameplays, but the issue they encountered where minor glitches compared to the major issues you can get when playing with a friend.

maybe next year pokemon can get the title
@Donhimesama Daifutari how does it compare to pre nerf absolute virtue?
@Donhimesama Daifutari So I read that it took the original team of 18 people 80 hours to beat it, right after Perfect Defense and that would have to be some time after the devs put out a cryptic video to troll the community. But yeah hard to compare it sounds, one is a bullet hell and the other is a mmorpg. In the end though he was beaten, and shown possible by the devs. I would say Inbachi when I think about it.

44:04 Mark is Blair Witching in front of the lever and I can’t stop fucking crying I love this fucking game
My personally ranking of these games (from favorite to least favorite)
1) Until dawn - the golden standard, most immersive/interesting plot, best characters, the scariest monsters, and overall the most fun
2) The quarry - a nice return to formula. So not as good as until dawn but a step in the right direction
3) House of ashes - the setpieces are what make the game honestly. Outside of Salim, the characters are either boring (Nick, Eric,) or insufferable (Rachel, jason). However, I loved the vampires and all the insane sequences you have whenever you come across them. I loved the underground alien city section. Not only was it a cool design, but also so eery and creepy. So overall, I liked the game for setpieces and creatures, not the characters
4) Man of medan - the plot twist is incredibly obvious from the opening prologue so I was never scared of any of the "creatures" in the game.
Ahh Charlie and Jackson. The the best combo hands down. No one else even comes close to these 2 together.
Slightly biased 😂

This game was really fun though, especially once you get past the somewhat tedious first half. Fun ride in the last act.
They should have an awards category for the buggiest/most unfinished game
I’ll never get over the woman having her neck slashed and then saying “I said get out”
House of Ashes was definitely the best one because despite still having a dumb twist (Vampires are a result of an Alien Virus) it was still a real supernatural threat compared to Little Hope and Man of Medan where they're both hallucinations (One being a group and one just being a crazy old man)
Honestly, Little Hope works incredibly as a story. Just because “it’s just in his head”, it doesn’t take away much. It’s a bit of a letdown because we expect something supernatural…but at the end of the day, this is the real horror - it’s always just in our heads. Our guilt, sadness, regret…
There are countless amazing horror stories which could easily be explained by “it was just in their head(s)”.
If gave devs keep this up we could rival Ark: Survival Evolved

H. H. Holmes and his wacky World's Fair Mousetrap hotel.. it amazes me that we're only NOW exploring this
The story of Holmes is crazy, and just how widespread he did and how he got away with it for so long.
If you’ve never heard it and have an interest in SK documentaries, I recommend it.
lol it's so broke he mistook the mirror for a bug
Please Charlie, after the fast and furious Irish travellers on horses racing for FAMILY. You absolutely have to watch their callout videos where they want to fight each other for family.
The story of HH Holmes "murder castle" is gruesome. He actually bought a hotel near the worlds fair in (I think) new york and murdered many women there after they left the fair.
Yes, however he never murdered anywhere near 200 victims-it was probably closer to 20.
The hotel wasnt actually a murder castle tho. Like it doesnt exist as it does in the game. Like he did actually build a hotel, but it didnt have trap doors and gas chamber rooms. Im surprised nobody in the chat was talking about that.
@@NaruBriluit did have a “torture” chamber though, and false doors.
There were some hidden rooms, but they were used for hiding furniture that Holmes had bought on credit and didnt intend to pay for

the bugs make the game entertaining and actually enjoyable 💀
I played this with my friend on Xbox and I had all the same bugs Charlie got. I was blown away at how bad the game was. It’s such a bummer too because I was so hyped for this one, the H. H. Holmes story really interests me, but the bugs ruined this game for me.
In the last chapter on the speed boat, our games completely broke at the same part. After replaying it three times, we decided to change our decisions and got someone who we didn’t lose initially killed, then the game worked and we could actually finish the game. Truly their worst one yet.
Play it singleplayer. I had no bugs whatsoever and had a great time playing.
The biggest crime is how they try to make cinematic experiences and then push out a documentary filmed straight in uncanny valley, just because they're rushing for yearly releases.
