My Ryobi Multitool has a circuit board in it. It appears your does not. The new ones are all in one, without the separate jobmax head.

Mine shuts off after using it for like 10 minutes. Im trying to trim some sheet metal fender wells. Maybe it's just too much for this little tool. It's a shame because it cuts really well before it shuts off. Seems to run ok again when it cools down but not sure how long it will go on that way. It doesn't smell like burnt motor so maybe its fixable.

Any idea about the flashing LED light? It’s not overheated bc it rested for a day in between uses, and the battery has been swapped as well. Any ideas how to fix that?

My Ryobi One Plus multi tool kicks ass. No performance issues at all and I have beat up on it alot. The only thing I can't figure out is how to get the damn bolt out so I can change the blade. I tightened it too much

So it's the variable resistance in the switch? Makes sense. I'm on my third one in three months. Luckily b+q take them back no questions asked.

The same problem here. These switches are stupidly expensive, pretty much half the price the cost of a brand new tool.

It's not worth it. Just don't buy any Ryobi osciliating tool. Mine broke 2 weeks after I bought it. VERY low quality!
