Thanku for showing the different applications of the multitool. Really helpful
I have a video coming up soon where I fix some water damage and I show you better how to use these types of tools. You may want to check that out for an even better reference.
I absolutely LOVE THIS TOOL!!! I've never had such a convenient piece of machinery on hand than this guy right here!! I've tore up several floors, ripped out ceilings, cut out for light fixture, etc. I swear by this dude!!
4:30 . AMAZING ! Thank you SOOO much for that info.
I got you for needing a good example, but...... As an electrician , unscrew the screw to let the wing further back to where it can close. As if the clip-in box was new. Had to let that out, because I got a kick out of it. I feel you though, and great video
Muchas gracias. Me ayudó mucho su video.
Always have the battery removed before connecting any sharp tool to avoid any injury.
FYI, do a google search on "why a multitool can't cut you"
And always wear a helmet
I use the multitool mostly to undercut door facings for hardwood, laminate or tile flooring.
Some people knock Ryobi tools for some reason. I have never had an issue.
Make sure you register them with Ryobi for warranty purposes.
Or simply keep your receipt. 👍🏻
Thanks for your kind words of wisdom!
Use "3M Safety-Walk Slip Resistant Tread, [2" x 180"] " stuck to a toothless scraper blade for a very thin, durable sander. I stumbled upon a useful technique out of necessity.
I needed to sand in some cracks left behind after removing caulk. I wanted the replacement caulk to have bare wood to stick to. The hook-and-loop sander design was way too thick.
*I cut a piece of the tread tape in the shape of a pentagon (like an old schoolhouse) and folded it all the way around the smooth blade. The tape is quite durable, but so inexpensive that you can replace it without thinking.
I was removing tenacious exterior caulk from a log building. I made a toothless "scraper" from a long-ish narrow-ish blade with my angle grinder. It removed the caulk very well with its slightly rounded corners.
The tape removes fairly easily, leaving a slight bit of sticky residue on the blade. I quickly removed it by rubbing the running blade on a scrap of 2x4.
I can envision making more smooth blades in various shapes to sand nooks and crannies of every description. A shorter blade could be used for a gentler effect given a shorter arc. I also tried some worn tape for a gentler sanding if using a long-ish blade. I cut the tape with an old scissors. It takes just seconds to replace a worn piece of tape.
Give it a try and reply here if you discover any refined techniques.
Your presentation and voice are easy to enjoy
Thank you my friend.
Thanks 👍 you are such good teacher 🙂
Thank you! 😃
Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!
new DIYer, very informative video explaining use cases even better than Ryobi. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
That's a very useful tool. I'm going to look into this one! The attachments are probably cheaper than buying and entire set of tools.
wow...it is a masterpiece.
After surfing 🏄♂️ several videos on using this tool, your was very helpful on using each attachment. Thank You!
Thank you. That is what I always strive for. 👍
Really great tool!
It’s a great tool
Great tool...
Good review
Thanks for the video
Just purchased a 18V One Plus (Brushless) Oscillating Tool from Ryobi and it's nothing like this one. I can't attach any blades or make any swaps.
Keep in mind that Ryobi has several different models of this tool, and this video is 3 years old. So things have probably changed since then.
@Modern DYI Projects...... thanx for the review. I like Ryobi's 18+1 line of tools. Question: are the Harbor Freight plungers, blades, cutters, sanding pad etc compatible with the Ryobi head?
Yes they are. I think it's an universal design by what I can tell.
Some Ryobis are ok but this model is total garbage. After using it for a few minutes it overheats and shuts off. You have to let it cool and then it starts up overheats and shuts down. Vibrates like crazy and is much louder than you would expect. After it heats up burning your vibrating hand and shuts off as you are trying to get your job done it shuts off and that's it. Won't ever run again. After 3 uses. Bought a Fein and all those issues disappear. Weakest tool I ever owned.
New ones are brushless
@@nicstr28 After about 6 months the Fein I replaced the Ryobi with started leaking black liquid out of it and would get hot also. Ended up getting a cordless Makita about 6 months ago and it has been running good without issue. It has the ability to to accept many different blades from various manufacturers including the Starlock plus that the Fein was limited to. This makes it possible to purchase whatever blade needed without having to track down a Starlock only to find it out of stock or be limited to only whatever was left in stock if any. Fein has a faster load/unload design in the star lock. You just release the lever drop the blade then click the new blade which elimantaes having to touch a hot blade then by pressing on it and your back in business. Makita has the same lever release but it disengages a pin that you need to pull out and remove the blade then line up the holes of the blade with the Makita and hold the pin in as you engage the lever which then tensions the pin.
what is the voltage (220 - 240 V) and currant power required for this product, because i live in the gulf and i want to know if it usable for my region
In your region they will sell one rated for your voltage level. In North America we use 110V, so you can't compare.
I am in the UK, I bought a kit from the US had it shipped over, then bought a Charger locally
Does your wife know you are playing with power tools again?
🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
Bought one last week great
Did yours come with all the add on his video is showing?
Mine didn't and i bought a week ago too
Wouldn't it be better just to turn the screw on the old work box to move the tab down rather than cut up the box?
Unfortunately, that is one of Ryobi's worst 18V tools, it is a very poor performer. Also, they need to add a quick release head like all of the other multi-tools out there. If you decide to keep it, I would recommend getting a Ridgid quick release head, it's expensive, but worth it.
As the video shows, a tool is only as efficient as the operator.
WHATS THE MODEL OF THAT RYOBI TOOL??? THANKS !
Sorry, but I made that video like 2 years ago. They no longer make this same exact tool. You will have to find the current model.
@@ModernDIYProjects and is it work know? its a good tool?
It's an adequate tool. It does the job. It is a Ryobi so it's not a high end tool.
I want this product
Does this work as a scraper?
Like removing splatter dried concrete from a truck?
Yes, it should work perfectly as a scraper.
Yes, please upload video of you using this to scrape concrete off your truck!
Great for scrapping old paint off painted cabinets for restoration after you applied paint remover chemical.
Forgot to explain the reason for the reverse
Reverse serves no purpose as an Oscillating tool, but when you switch the head to other tools, then it can be useful.
awesome! Needed to know this
I think you can just loosen the nut and slip in the new attachment. you should not have to completely remove it
Ya, that's the beauty of the attachments and the designer!
The attachments, that he has, are a full circle instead of the open ended type.
Dude - taking toooooo long.
