How To Replace Huawei P30 Pro Lens Cover
Переглядів 50 тис.4 роки тому
In this video I will show you how I removed and replaced the camera lens cover on my Huawei P30 Pro. I purchased a replacement cover on amazon, see link below and set about removing the old lens cover. It was badly shattered so I had to remove it in small pieces. Once you find the adhesive strip you can pull on that and get most of it out without breaking any more glass. Try to make sure you do...
Scots Wha Hae - lang may yer lum reek. I love to hear the Scots accent. being 65% Scots I had done this on a previous P30 Pro but forgot how I did it. Just ordered one and a spare
Mine only the light works but the tool wont do nothing or move or even make a sound?
Thats what mine does too :(
Hi Alan, your video really saved my tool from the bin. So thank you. Is yours still working today? I noticed a flying lead with a resistor attached to the OEM switch. Do you know what its purpose is and if there’s any need for this on the replacement switch?
Thanks for this video…. I followed along, and now have a working Multi Tool… I thought the new switch was faulty, but I had ‘chopped off’ the plastic toggle switch (to get it to fit), and once it was all wired up, then I pressed the trigger, all that happened was the LED lit up. I managed to ‘toggle’ the remnants of the piece I had hacked off, and it all worked. Thanks again :(
I got a bad motor. how can I get one shipped internationally ? we don't get ryobi tools where I'm from unfortunately
Hi Alan Followed your video and got the new switch in and worked a treat … for about a 15 mins on and off. I’ve taken it apart again to double check my wiring and it’s fine. So it appears to be the motor which is intermittent.. Have you come across this issue and if so can you suggest a replacement non original Ryobi motor ? Many thanks and again your videos are wonderful 👍🏼
My phone back cover doesn't have a place to apply the gum
Nice, refer to part one for the link for the switch. Link broken.
Hero
Any idea about the flashing LED light? It’s not overheated bc it rested for a day in between uses, and the battery has been swapped as well. Any ideas how to fix that?
Is this link for a glass replacement or is it plastic, like you see all over the place? Thanks.
My Ryobi Multitool has a circuit board in it. It appears your does not. The new ones are all in one, without the separate jobmax head.
Kudos to Huawei too They did a good job designing this to be so easily to fix. Unlike that other bitten off fruit company designers.
My Ryobi One Plus multi tool kicks ass. No performance issues at all and I have beat up on it alot. The only thing I can't figure out is how to get the damn bolt out so I can change the blade. I tightened it too much
Mine also just broke just like that in the exact same place and I have no idea how, did not drop or bash my phone, it was just in my bag. I think the piece of glass they use must be pretty shoddy, here's hoping the replacement is better! Thanks so much for this video
It's not worth it. Just don't buy any Ryobi osciliating tool. Mine broke 2 weeks after I bought it. VERY low quality!
Thank you for sharing, I'm so glad I tried this. It was so easy to do, the lense only cost £2.50 and it's good as new!
Thank you for this video. Phone repair shop wanted to charge me £50 said I would need a new back cover too to repair camera lens cover. Bought lens cover part on ebay for £2.47 and some B7000 adhesive phone glue for £1.98 followed your video and done in no time and saved me loads thanks 👍
The fact this video has had 12k views says it all 😂. I shoulda brought Makita.
My “old” tool broke in the same way. Rather than try to fix it, bought a new one (different model) which died after a couple used. Other Ryobi tools I have bypassed the switch, so “on” anytime battery is installed.
Thank you so much for posting this video, I was heartbroken when my lens smashed because my p30 pro takes such great photos. I followed your video and was able to replace the lens. Back to taking great photos again 😁
What do you do about the dark marks in the camera image?
Mine shuts off after using it for like 10 minutes. Im trying to trim some sheet metal fender wells. Maybe it's just too much for this little tool. It's a shame because it cuts really well before it shuts off. Seems to run ok again when it cools down but not sure how long it will go on that way. It doesn't smell like burnt motor so maybe its fixable.
Have same issue.
Nicely sized garage!!!!
Thank you legend! Mine just broke out of NO WHERE in the exact same place. Quick question, is it still taking good photos and has the glass yellowed (I worry about these things!!!)
done this 3 times now, as each time dust entered the camera, final time I used glue too, no problems with dust anymore.
Thanks for this so easy amazing video and I thought I had to buy a new phone. Thank goodness
is it water resistant ip 68
So it's the variable resistance in the switch? Makes sense. I'm on my third one in three months. Luckily b+q take them back no questions asked.
Thanks for your video, super helpful. Followed the instructions and just replaced the lens cover on my partner's P30 Pro. Saved us a fair bit of money from getting it fixed outside.
Nice, thanks for saving money for repair 🙏🙏🙏
Was ist das, was am Ende drauf gemacht wurde?wo findet man das?finde nur dieses erste auf Amazon, ist das letze nur Panzerglas oder??
This repair is of poor quality, dust will soon enter the camera, even water when sprayed. The glass must be sealed with an adhesive!
Many thanks for this information. I punctured the glass just over the wide angle lens and contacted my phone supplier insurance claim department and the said the excess would be £100. Has anyone details of where I can get the replacement glass please?
Ebay for about 2 quid
My Phone lost locus after replacing the Glass. What could go wrong?
Did you use Alan's link? Was it a glass replacement or is it plastic?
Is it still waterproof?
ohhh just found this tonight..have exactly the same problem , today, and was delighted to hear a scottish voice giving me easy to follow instructions...ordered the part and hopefully all will go well...thank you
Thank you so much for this. I was absolutely devistated when I smashed my lense cover the other day. Ordered the part for £6 and thanks to your video fixed it in 10 mins. Life saver 👌🏻
The camera glass is not well maded it easily broke also the power off button too
I have the same problem whit mi lens, did the IP68 remains whit this new pice?
What is the white part between the lenses? and what can it be replaced with?
great video, reason I sought this out is I have the same problem, as with everyone else its really annoying it lasted 3 uses before packing in. I will do the same fix, but i see you used extra lengths of red/black cable to extend to the battery terminal and motor due to the orientation of the switch..... I am no expert, and you clearly know what you are doing, so is it possible to let us know what gauge/type cable used for that?... lots of generic stuff online but don't want to buy stuff that just causes another problem with this tool in the future. Much appreciated.
Hi. Thanks for watching. It was 16 guage cable I used and it was generic cable from amazon.
@@alansworkshop8888 Cheers, much appreciated. now ordered and hopefully can get this fix done... and then I can fix the things I bought it to do before it joined my list of things to fix. One less electrical item for the landfill.
Sehr anschaulich! Danke für das Video. Ich habe ein Xiaomi P10 pro mit kaputtem Kameraglas. Funktioniert die Reparatur auf dies gleiche Weise? Gruß Annette
Thanks for the video. I was filming using my P30 Pro yesterday and discovered a crack on the lens. Like you I've no idea how but I was very disappointed and was waiting for a big repair bill.
Where did you get the part from? Just a generic one from amazon?
Finally, I gave up after the 4th replacement failed after only cutting 2 of 3 door hinge recess and just bought the plug in version, cordless has been lying on shelve for over a year now, be good to actually use it.
Nervous about trying this, I'm absolutely gutted as I thought it would need sent back to Huawei for a fix but I'll try this!!! Looks fairly simple
My p30 has a cracked camera glass. This video shows how easy it is to sort. Thanks very much Alan!!
Clean job 👌🏻
I have the exact same hole in my lens cover.... And have seen a few videos with the exact same damage.... Thanks for showing how to change it... My part just arrived today so going to have a go now 😊😊
same smash exactly for me
