Just thought I'd leave some context, if you're interested, might be a text wall though fyi. This animation takes place during the first game, at Ground Zero, the research base that was experimenting with teleportation. The aliens you're seeing in the video actually aren't the Combine (not sure if in this video you knew). Basically, the teleportation experiment opened a portal to what is essentially the lint trap of the universe, and a bunch of alien animals and life and whatnot came through. Something else was there though, and that's what's commanding the soldier aliens (slaves/bioengineered). It's keeping the portals open, but it turns out, it's not just invading, it's fleeing, from the Combine. The entire first games big bad is trying to run. After it's been defeated though, the portal storms don't stop, and that's when the Combine notice us.
Hope you guys react to some Half Life Lore just like how you guys react to WH40K Lore, HL Lore is pretty underrated. Maybe startout with Videos from the Templin Institute, Videos from them like the Combine, Resistance, Black Mesa or even Aperture Science if you also wanna Include the Portal Series, it’s a good stepping stone since these videos are short and concise before reacting to more heavy and longer vids like from Skyrionn.
