The soldiers in masks you see here are Combine units, they are human but some are augmented and modified, The ones in white masks or the ones in white jumpsuits are Grunts and Civil protection, they are the most human of all and are humans who recently joined the combine in order to get better meals and some other rewards. The larger combine units are also human but much more augmented and modified such as the Ordinals (the ones with that antenna back pack), Surpressors (the orange minigunners), Chargers (heavy combine units) and others. The humans you see fighting are Rebels, as mentioned previously they are humans who fight against the opression of the Combine. The alien that was flying and carrying in the soldiers is called a "Dropship.", Basically it's a kind of modified alien creature from one of the worlds they took over that the Combine uses to transport soldiers, materials and others. That moaning monster thing that looked like a human which the grunt shot was a "Zombie." A human with a "Headcrab" parasite controlling them, they are often seen in half life 2 and half life alyx (the games)
