I have been to a number of these churches but you didn't find the hidden underground one! that one is really cool!. Also the smashed graves one as well which is shocking to see.

There are a lot of things to do for this places that are into their investments standards, in order to restore the places where they are needed, it is also important that countries or cities that are into standards of restoration can guarantee that their investments are to last for a lifetime, since they are National historical sites, that preserves the roots of its city, citizenship as well as art works and masterpieces that can be retrieved and sent back to its originating country. Its people that knows their significance.
Thank you for showing to the world the condition of our churches at the occupied area of our country. Let's hope this publicity help to restore these holy churches so the believers can use them to pray and relieve their souls. Turkey is responsible for that condition and it's not shame to show who is responsible if we want this situation to change. If nothing change the future of these monuments will be same as the Christianity monuments in middle east.

can you guys visit the turkish buildings in the southern side of cyprus please ? This video shows how Turkish guys not being respectfull to other religion's structures. Lets see how greek cypriots cover or not covering Turkish mosques or other buildings
And in Greek Cyprus the mirror issue, historic Ottoman mosques, hammams etc all left abandoned and crumbling unless money from outside (EU or Norway, typically) comes in to have them restored.
Not really. Hamams are definitely restored and historic mosques are too. Only tiny village mosques are abandoned but still in a better condtion than churches in the North. Unfortunately, cemeteries are treated equally badly in the south as well as the north.
I don't think the titles fair, not only were churches left to rot but so were mosques, why is this not talked about? yet again we see time and time again not Cypriot natives playing around with the fragile Cypriot identity.

I want to say something as a Turk. Turkey got a lots of historical things but goverment doesnt doing anything. Generally Eu and Greece do not help. For example Isreal funds Turkish synagogues and they are well maintained. But if the government changes, this situation could be reversed. As a result, as a Turk, I regret that our historical beauties were wasted.
These churches should be renovated as historical monuments. But the Greek Cypriot part that will do this work. Funds are provided from the European Union for this to greek cypriots. The Denya mosque, which was restored in 2008 by the Cultural Heritage Technical Committee, was set on fire in 2013 and 2016 by greek cypriots. Do you know that? However, in December 2021, there was an attempt to arson in the great mosque of Larnaca. Hundreds of mosques were attacked and destroyed in the 1963-1974 period by greek cypriots.These events are real, you need to investigate.
ALL Ottoman buildings are restored, renovated and in use by Muslims in all Cyprus and Greece by the Greek authorities. I challenge you to show or refer to ONE that is not protected. Everywhere in the world the civilized people take care about human rights and culture EXCEPT Turkey. Stop saying stupid things and travel around the world to learn (and SEE) the truth..

@@randomdude8202 erm, the fact that both sides had innocent non combatants killed is well documented. The situation is more complex however. Not all Greek cypriots supported the coup. In fact all the leftists who were the majority of the population opposed it and actively fought against the coup. The first Turkish invasion was welcomed by even some Greek cypriots since it restored peace and brought down the junta. However a second invasion took place which was internationally condemned and that's when most atrocities happened. As always the truth is between Greek and Turkish propaganda. It's not a black and white issue.

So did Serbians. But that barely changes the outcome. Propaganda does happen, and during invasion Turkish troops did kill civilians that mixed up with paramilitary groups unlike what Turkish gov. say. But people should get their facts straight about what it was, and what would have happened if nobody acted upon it.

Get the title and your facts correct. Cyprus was not split up. It was invaded by Turkey in 1974 and the northern half is still illegally occupied by Turkey to this very day.
