I wanted to add a quick note for anyone who wants to make their own suit. First of all, please, please, please do a ton of research first! Your final product will turn out so much better if you have a good idea of what you’re doing before you start. Secondly, take your time! When you take the time to consider flaws, what you could do better, what you like and what you don’t like, and all that jazz, you will have a result that you are so much more likely to love! To afford a Fursuit I had to undertake making my own. About half way there with the head, paws ( hand and feet ) and tail. The rest for later this year. All great advice Pocari and I just want to add that age is not a limiting factor as I am 63 and just getting started and having a lot of fun and learning new skills while making my suit :-D
Can I just say that's awesome and I'm so glad I'm not the only one coming in quite late (relatively, anyway). I'm 33 and making my 14 year old daughter her first partial at the moment. It's a great time and we get to do it together! I have a suit in the works as well from a relatively local maker and we're going to make tiktok furry memes together (apparently lol). I hope you're having as much fun as we are!

Same, I have 3 makers that I'm considering, and 3 fursonas I considering, but I just spent my last $30 on a pocket watch. Saving up is gonna take a while..... Good luck to you and anyone else saving up for a fursuit! 🙂
I’m a starting fursuit maker. I make uncommon species like dragons but I’m branching into canines now! You’ve helped me be comfortable with being a furry when everyone judged me for it and if it wasn’t for you I probably wouldn’t have started this hobby and I wouldn’t have made some amazing friends so thank you so much! ❤️ Also could I tag you in my suit pictures on twitter so you can see them?
Pocari: "a full suit costs from 2k to 3,5k and more" Me: *gets one for 1,5k* Now off from the meme XD but yeah, just to mention, maybe also try and search or ask furry friends if they know a good maker, local or not. That's how I found my maker. She's local and unknown, but her quality is amazing. And finding such unknown suitmakers always helps them as well. And a little side effect you benefit from if you don't have the biggest money, unknown makers can't go too high with their prices. Otherwise they'd quickly have to quit. And trust me! It's definetly worth a try! Unknown makers can be hidden gems
My maker is a local one from germany. Her name is FurNEkko Creations. Tho for now she only will do eu shipping. But if she grows I think the chances are good she might start shipping worldwide
Have a huge question about fursuit heads: Is there any way to possibly how to give information on your vision visibility and head comfort if you find someone online - use of eye spacing, size of head, nose posture, etc. I’m kinda worried that if you buy your first fursuit head, it might be a waste of money if the size or eyes are not spaced or sized correctly.
A lot of times if you can give the artist/ maker your heads measurements including where your eyes are, diameter, width between, etc etc etc, they can give you a decent idea of how well it will fit or not😁. Im making kine using a head base (Runaway workshop on etsy) and couldnt find a styrofoam head (head base) to build mine on. I relied solely on measurements and its came out fitting well so far!
@@LiSkyFox Many fursuit heads are spacious enough for glasses to be worn under the head. But you have to be pretty specific about that--the maker needs to know ahead of time if you're commissioning a suit.
Gonna throw this out here: it's a good idea to *not* buy a fursuit from sites like Alibaba. It's cheap but it's likely to be rubbish and a stolen character. But as I live in Brazil here things are very expensive, but I will still try to have my own Fursuit. And maybe even going to events outside my country someday, good video Pocari ^^
I do have a fursuit already. But I love watching your videos. Also I know you have started suiting way before I started and it’s true that you need to pay for postage and import if you get your fursuits internationally. Good thing I made Bruzo with help from non furry friends but the resin base that came to me as a kit I got from the US. And the other thing that if you especially are getting a fursuit from international makers is you need to find out how much your country’s currency worth compared to the currency your maker is charging. Sorry for the long comment.
There's this one hobby I like (tabletop wargaming), and actually, getting a fursuit is a bit cheaper than starting Tabletop wargaming (depending on the game).
I’m a young fur and I find the dealers den really helpful as well. I got my first fursuit head there for about $225 (that’s including shipping) it fit well and I can see myself fitting into it for a while.

Excellent Advice as well as videos! I'm on the market for a fursuit however, I'm not sure which suit maker to go with. I'm looking at More Fur Less, Made Fur You, & Lemon Brat. I'm leaning towards Lemon Brat because I'm from southern Illinois and Lemon Brat is based in Northern Illinois as well so, I'm assuming the shipping would cost less money. The good news is I have more than enough saved up to purchase a full fursuit. The bad news is said money will be going into purchasing a truck. If I have enough left over after the truck purchase, I plan on purchasing a full fursuit. I also plan on purchasing a Protogen partial in the future as well.
I’ve been making my first fur suit head when I first started the nose was crooked but, I recently redid it and it looks better cause I learned the skills from all the other sewing
hi! For anyone scrolling for recommended fursuit makers, check out Kit's Cove! They have a small gallery of suits they've made. They are kinda new. I've found their UA-cam and they said they still have to work on ventilation but their work is really good and the digitigrade starter is at 1500! Plantigrade starts at 1200! I am a teen and haven't commissioned a suit myself, so I don't have personal experience with Kit's Cove, but I recommend at least checking them out
In a couple years, my boyfriend is gonna make our fursuits and start his own fursuit business. I plan on buying materials and making plushies, animations, and do art commisions. If he lets me help, I'd also be making furry paws and tails
Thanks for this! It really helps outline the steps to take. I'm going to look to get to grips with drawing myself a bit more, so I can draw my character and reference sheet (though I'll see how that goes), but making the fursuit is way beyond me.
THANK YOU so much for this video! It’ll be very useful to the pups in the fandom and you’re always so positive, just watching you talking about suits makes me want to work on my current project! Awesome work, pls never stop!! 💙
Right now I’m saving up for a fursuit head from this maker called BlueFoxFursuits which costs £550 right now I’m at £10 so hopefully I will save up enough money!
I’m currently trying to find a way to stop procrastinating so I can actually make my fursuit. I guess I’m watching a bunch of videos about fursuits to make myself want to make another one.
Its true, making your own is really cheap! Well..... relatively lol. I paid maybe 500 ish USD to make my own full suit, worth about 2000. But it was a LOT of work. And took a LOT of time. But its a ton of fun for someone who wants something to do with their hands, and I have actually started taking commissions! Its only been a couole months and ive had about 3 or 4 people interested or looking to commission me.
Watch Odin Wolf's video on some of the most expensive suits out there like wow. Thanks Pocari for the info, I am looking into getting back into the swing of things one day and this info will come in handy. Love your fursuit the colors are amazing. Have a great time.
My fursuit supplies are arriving in a few weeks, so I thought I’d watch this. I’m planning on making a mini partial then later turning it into a full partial- I’m in ‘that growing stage’ soo yeah. I CANT WAIT FOR ALL THE THINGS TO ARRIVE AAAAHHH
"Wearing a fursuit though can be easier said than done." As a kemono fursuiter I know that fact all too well. Things like very limited ventilation(very small mouths) make the suit heat up quicker, eyes that fog up and can really hinder vision(there's ways to combat this but it depends on what the eyes are made of, some don't allow for it at all.) make something that's already a bit difficult to wear that much harder to do so.
Great Video Pocari! Keep up the good work as you always do, and stay positive because no matter how dark life gets there is always light to guide you to saftey and happiness.
I already have a plan for myself. I will buy the fur, foam, and other materials online since most of the materials aren't in the city or I just need to look for them and once I move out to the new city I will go to (which is nearby a convention!) And go to art school to pursue my dreams :3. Everything works out!
This is a great video! Thanks so much for featuring me in it too 😸 I think I will link this video on my website, cuz I always get lots of questions about how to get a fursuit, and this is perfect to answer it!

Amazing video awesome great information and advice on a fursuit really helpful and useful knowledge when investing on one enjoy watching the video lots of love and abundance blessings thank you for the informative video "thank you" 💖
I am not a fursuiter but, I recommend you wear a hot cold suit witch regulates your body temperature. For example when your hot it makes you cold and vises versa. Also step on a water bottle full force with the cap barley on so your making a mini air-cannon
I'm planning on making my fursuit head soon. My friends mom is currently making hers and mine will hopefully be next. for being her first fursuit head it looks really nice! I'm hoping my sonas designs aren't to complicated for her (they shouldn't be) and I'll hopefully have it by next year (depending on how long it takes since we'd have to meet up and she does it as a hobby rather than business right now)
This may be a weird question but, my fursona isn't really a " Fur"Sona, Celyn( Kellen) is a red European dragon, and I was to get a " real" suit ( RN she's a latex dragon head from Amazon) but since fursuits are Furry, how would you get a suit that's scaled?
reptillian suits tend to be made with regular fur (sometimes cut into scale-like shapes), fleece with appliqué/fabric painted scales and/or some sewing tricks, spandex, or sometime stretch velvet. as far as i've seen, very few people make fursuits that mimic the exact texture of scales down to the material, and instead approximate it visually with softer materials, with the general understanding being that it's a limitation of the medium. i'm not an expert though, so you can always try searching around.
There are other ways for a scaly suit. Myself, I am a draptor (dragon/raptor) and I am "making" my own head. (Mostly I just grabbed a Blue the raptor mask and will be modifying it.) I don't have it yet, but I did just purchase dragon scales fabric for the back of the head. Here's a link: www.spoonflower.com/tags/dragon%20scales I'll also attach some horns to the mask. I got those from Red Nebula Studios (www.rednebulastudios.com). You can see how it might be done to make a head out of the mask (which I'll be taking inspiration from) from this UA-camr: ua-cam.com/video/Vpx2pBLK6uY/v-deo.html Now I haven't talked with the fursuit maker by Sector Suits (sectorsuits.com/), but I am going to see what they can do for a full suit using the very same fabric I mentioned above. If a partial is more your thing (which trust me, I am heat intolerant that's why I'm doing this scaly character), you could also go onto Etsy and search for people who've made dragon scaled forearm and fingerless gloves and sleeves. Happy hunting!
I showed my dad this video, and yes I’m young, but now I think he is more comfortable with buying me a fursuit! Thank you so so so so much or else I would probably have to beg and beg my mom and dad for a fursuit! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Are their suit makers that support prescription glasses? Like inside the head? As well as maybe LED lights around the head/body? Please let me know ^^; I’m really new to this and I want to be able to see as much as I can in my suit (day and night)

I'm thinking of making my own Fursuit head, hand paws, and tail. how many yards of furr will I need??
Bear Boi that depends on markings, tail length, your height, etc. My suits I typically buy a yard of fur for each color from Joanns (they fold the fabric over itself, so it’s more like 2 yards) and that covers it perfectly. This video helped me get my yeen suit commissioned
I found this incredible fursuit and I’m saving up for it!
Super informative. I needed this for my marine protogen fursona. Thank you
I just got home after buying paper roll, so I can do a 1 to 1 scale sketch of my first partial fur suit.
And there is also head bases for sale! The base is all done and you just have to fur it!
Your videos always brighten my day Pocari! They're just so wholesome haha!
Thank you for posting!!! I missed your positive energy!
Awesome video !! Actually i'm trying to make It, It takes very Long time each step! But it's so satisfying!
Awesome video as always Pocari! Thank you!
hello Pocari! I made my own fursuit when i was 8, im now 12 and i made a lot of progress! i followed a lot of tutorials.
If your friends are accepting and easily excited, hype them up about it! You will never hear the end of it lol.
Awesome video as always!
Nice and informational as always! 💜
im getting my first one this month so excited!!! GAHHHH. very good advice you gave
Really great informative video will make sure to pass this one to my friends. Iknow some of em wonder what a fursuit is and how to get one.
Another amazing video dude, Keep up the good work!!
This channel got me into the fandom
Thankyou
You twisted my arm. I'm making "irides the husky" and he will be depressed
Fursuits are the best part of the fandom they are just so cute and i think they are so worth the money
My fursuit supplies are arriving in a few weeks, so I thought I’d watch this. I’m planning on making a mini partial then later turning it into a full partial- I’m in ‘that growing stage’ soo yeah. I CANT WAIT FOR ALL THE THINGS TO ARRIVE AAAAHHH
aaaaaa I really needed a new pocari video!!
I’m ordering a new suit base today! This helped. Tanks :3
As Always Pocari you hit this video right out of the park, great job 🦊❤️
"Wearing a fursuit though can be easier said than done." As a kemono fursuiter I know that fact all too well. Things like very limited ventilation(very small mouths) make the suit heat up quicker, eyes that fog up and can really hinder vision(there's ways to combat this but it depends on what the eyes are made of, some don't allow for it at all.) make something that's already a bit difficult to wear that much harder to do so.
Great Video Pocari! Keep up the good work as you always do, and stay positive because no matter how dark life gets there is always light to guide you to saftey and happiness.
I am planning to make my own, and I have a few tricks up my sleeve for a moving mouth and eyes!
He is going to be a Dragon mixed with a deer
I already have a plan for myself. I will buy the fur, foam, and other materials online since most of the materials aren't in the city or I just need to look for them and once I move out to the new city I will go to (which is nearby a convention!) And go to art school to pursue my dreams :3. Everything works out!
This is a great video! Thanks so much for featuring me in it too 😸
I think I will link this video on my website, cuz I always get lots of questions about how to get a fursuit, and this is perfect to answer it!
Well jokes on you! I just finished my 3/4 fursuit!
One of my friend is getting a head(A bunny) soon and she was SOO excited. :)
I was gonna make one 2.
Pocari yesterday was my birthday!!!!!!! Nice informative video, I just so happened to make my own fursuit head, took two tries to get something perfect!!
I'm hoping my sonas designs aren't to complicated for her (they shouldn't be) and I'll hopefully have it by next year (depending on how long it takes since we'd have to meet up and she does it as a hobby rather than business right now)
Me and my friend didn't have enough money for a fur suit so we just took onesies and decorated them 😅
Great Video
I was actually getting a fursuit quote
Then the notification for this video came up
😏😏😏
So Informative! Thank yoooou! ❤
@@CosplaysConsCuisineEtc Awesome, and thanks for the links aswell!
@@CCyrus-qz1tu You're welcome! ^_^ Anything to help out a fellow scaly!
Thanks for this! I'm going to show this video to my dad :) hope it helps him understand
I showed my dad this video, and yes I’m young, but now I think he is more comfortable with buying me a fursuit! Thank you so so so so much or else I would probably have to beg and beg my mom and dad for a fursuit! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
AAA SO HAPPY YOU POSTED 🥰
You are one of my furry inspirations in the fandom
Are their suit makers that support prescription glasses? Like inside the head? As well as maybe LED lights around the head/body? Please let me know ^^; I’m really new to this and I want to be able to see as much as I can in my suit (day and night)
