      I would really like to see Amy Adams Gillian Flynn create some type of TV series which not only in empowers the family scapegoat child Amy Adams played ... empowering Camille... but also shows and enables the surrounding men , apathetic enablers and bystanders in community , education friendships members , siblings to really be stand-up confidently and really stand up to that narcissistic EVIL 🦹‍♀️ abusive mother ADORA character ... the sadistic sociopath ... because really society enables this every day everywhere!!! Is hidden pattern everywhere... happens a lot more than people are aware. 🙌🙏please create a tv series that empowering the family scapegoat character and also empowering the the surrounding witnesses to step up and stop Adora Abusing her??

      Yes and this was also very similar to the Factitious disorders the whole family scapegoating system in the Netflix documentary the trials of Gabriel Fernandez. The government and as well as within government policy they are developing in Australia new family scapegoating laws and this nearly passed in the UK was called Cinderella act but it is now been petitioned as a Scapegoat Law stand alone ... it’s own Act under coercive control in Sydney New South Wales it’s currently in development . as they want to make family scapegoating A recogniseD form of violence in its own distinct pattern... as in a scapegoat mechanism

    holy shit I didnt expect this! thank you! its a real shame sharp objects did not get the awards attention it deserved, hbo should have released it for the last emmy season, not this year, it totaly got overshadowed by other shows, that almost all of them are based on real events and are more apealing to the voters. especially amy deserves to win best actress but she will probably lose.

      Sometimes I feel like it's the trend of Hollywood. They give out undeserving awards to new, young actress like J law, Em stone just because they're young and maybe these actresses did a lot of campaigning during awards season. But after that none of them get any exciting, groundbreaking roles after the wins. Even Anne Hathaway. She only did boring comedies after winning the Oscar.
      My point is, I'm done judging an actress based on their wins, it's their current and quality of work I'm more concerned of now.

      The book was readable than the series was watchable. I mean I loved very much Sharp Objects but it shouldn't have been like 8 episodes. 6 would've been enogh because there's not so much plotline. But the atmosphere yeah was spot on! And the brilliant acting from the three leading ladies: Amy, Patricia and Eliza Scanlen.

    • @ariannapugliese4771
      @ariannapugliese4771 4 роки тому +4

      @@arontamas5639 I think that 8 episodes wasn't enough because the TV series add new elements that weren't present into the book and they needed to be explained like Vicary and Camille's mom. And i didn't like the change of ending, i really prefer the book's. I mean if there would be not changes problably yes 6 episodes would be enough, but for all the things that they change i think 8 weren't enough. But i really love both book and TV series

    This is one of my favorite films. A female writer, producer, actors. I'm also a huge Jean Marc Vallee fan as well. Huge FAN of Amy Adams, Gillian Flynn, Patricia Clarkson. A great story about a woman who has been through so much but doesn't see herself as a victim. She keeps persevering while having a learning experience that would make most crumble. We need more stories about strong women.
    This has a serious, tricky storyline with a l that makes you think but empathize by putting yourself in their shoes( if you are willing). We need more movies 'for women I enjoyed this interview very much. They all seem very gracious.

  • @umchinagirard1800
    @umchinagirard1800 4 роки тому +8

    Interesting 🧐 discussion about this difficult topic. Hope focus on next tv series will be on empowering the family scapegoat(s).
    There is a lot of research done on scapegoating mechanisms but there is little one can do to prevent it from happening. I do believe making victims aware that there is nothing wrong with them as helpful. Unfortunately scapegoating is often a way for families or communities to hide problems that they feel cannot face. In adulthood, scapegoating became a way for adult children to hide the fact of family history of abuse by blaming everything on one member who seemed vulnerable for attack (and/or talks about it). Often the scapegoat is targeted by the siblings who were treated more favorably. In that way, the less favored sibling(s) becomes the punchingbag for everything that is wrong in the family. Family therapy can help but only rarely are the culprits and less affected family members willing to take part.
    Hope focus on next tv series will be on empowering the scapegoat(s).

    So I didn't read the book, but was the younger sister being the killer supposed to be a twist? I knew as soon as she came onscreen that she was a killer. The young actress playing the roller skating daughter did a great job of portraying a young psychopath, I never doubted for a second that she had sliced up her classmates. I also knew pretty early on that Adora had killed the other daughter out of her own mental illness and couldn't deal with it, so she just didn't deal with it. It didn't occur to me that either of those story beats was supposed to be a surprise when they were revealed in the last episode, just that Amy Adams' character was finally forced to confront harsh, obvious truths.

    • @blaiselaclaire993

      Siansonea Orande Gillian Flynn has described it as a twist that is earned- so if you’re paying attention the cues and to what’s going on then none of it should be a big surprise, it’s not supposed to be a shock if you’ve been paying attention to the clues and such

      Well it depends on how well you paid attention. This is one of those shows where you have to rewatch the episodes to catch all the hints and clues.
