And the criminals are still stupid when they go into an interview. #1 is that they don't ask for a lawyer. Whether that's because these shows only show suspects that talk b/c otherwise there would be nothing to post or whether the vast majority of criminals are just dumb as a sack of rocks but I'm guessing the later. Dumb for the win.

That babysitter was trying to make damn sure the boyfriend got prosecuted for this before she knew ANY details at all. Like "why would you let her walk alone"? Excuse me hon, but I'm a grown woman and when I was pissed at my boyfriend, he didn't LET me do anything- if I wanted to get away from his a** I did exactly that regardless of what he wanted. Maybe they weren't the greatest couple or he wasn't a great boyfriend but being a crappy partner is a far, far cry from being a murderer. Just because you don't like someone doesn't mean you do your best to twist everything they've ever said or done or make things up to fit your twisted little scenario. If you truly cared about your friend, you'd actually be as open and truthful as possible to try and find her, not spend so much effort trying to demonize one person you have no real evidence against.

She isn't a detective she is just a friend and if your friend was in a bad relationship, plus you didn't like him, then ya friend ends up alone on a night out and dead, u are going jump to those conclusions, you wouldn't be nice about it. If my mate ended up dead, I think I would still blame him for leaving her alone. Ya shouldn't leave ya mates or girlfriend..anything could happen. If I left my mate alone, fight, or no fight, I would be full of guilt if she ended up dead.

@@Leoprincess3038 You're kinda ignorant aren't you? Hyperventilation is real; When a person hyperventilates, they blow off a lot of acid (CO2) and go into a state of alkalosis. The cure is simple have a person breathe into a paper bag. They rebreathe their own acid breath and the condition reverses itself. I'm shocked at those LAZY detectives' behavior! All they had to do was give him a paper bag. Alkaloses is very hard to reverse without the pts' help. If they are unconscious, they can actually die. I've seen it happen with critical care patients.

Sometimes I think that these narrators are either non American by birth, or culturally, or else come from a less than street-smart background. What Detrie means by that is that he and his friend spent the majority of their expected-to-be evening out (with babysitter hired) looking for someone who had a minimal responsibility to keep in touch with them and let them know where she was and that she was OK, if not be with them. And he was scared, frustrated, and even angry that she was not reachable. The two best reasons and possibilities would be jail or hospital. Other reasons would not be good.

Haven’t seen the babysitter yet, but they likely didn’t ask to be part of this, and it’s not exactly easy to talk to police during an investigation, then add on knowing that the Internet will likely dissect your every word and gesture as “oh…,they looked left, or touched their hair, or held too much eye contact….that is a sign of lying!” (It isn’t. Or at least not with any accuracy.)
And in the past there have been multiple miscarriages of justice because people latched onto someone as suspicious because they were “odd,” and were dead wrong and the real criminal was later found definitively. Being strange or odd is proof of…pretty much nothing.

We've GOT to stop this automatic assumption that the male partner is the abuser.
Theres clearly evidence here that Nicole was the one abusing Doug (hitting him/texting him abusive messages about other women/general controlling behaviour).
It's always the case nowadays that if the male utters one word of criticism of the female (even where perfectly valid) it's called abusive/controlling. And yet a female can be straight up beating on him, abusing him by text messages/strung out on anti depressants and we're supposed to accept that she's the blameless party acting rationally and lovingly in the relationship.
This nonsense narrative is backed up by so many people even when they categorically KNOW the female is a complete liability.
