One of the few songs featuring Nancy Wilson with Ann Wilson being the backup. "Alone" is amazing. Ann the dark haired sister is one of the greatest female rock voices of all time. They are ROCK ROYATY, most of their stuff has a ...little more punch to it
Yeah this one seemed a bit more subdued compared to something like Magic Man
Unforgettable 80s! Music, fashion, dance moves!
One of the very few songs that Nancy was lead singer as she usually did backup for her sister Ann.
In all honesty, we've heard Heart on the radio, but know very little about them
Both Wilson sisters r legends & bad azz.
@@KathyLuluandDonnaAnn was likely the #1 white female vocalist of the mid 70s to mid 80s. Without peer. U should watch Ann Wilson in the Kennedy Center Tribute to Led Zepplin: All-time rendition of "Stairway To Heaven."
I love the intense look on Lulu's face while she's watching this.
This song is about Vampires, i Remember listening to it in early 86.
Don't fret about not understanding the video. Often, there isn't an actual storyline in the script. Instead they present a series of images to set the mood (as if the music and lyrics don"t do that already) and showcase the talent. This video seems to be a dream with a dollop of Celtic mythology (the Faery Realm) thrown in for good measure. This makes sense since the Fae, especially the Irish Sidhe (pronounced shee as in Banshee (woman Faery) had an extreme love and talent for music. However, I have been told that by chemically altering ones perspective many music videos and motion pictures are much easier to understand and many deep truths can be obtained. Personally, I don't indulge, but I have a few laughs, in my youth, listening to a couple of my buddies trying to this great epiphany they had while they were totally ripped. Great reaction. Heart is one of my favorite bands. Bye.
Haha that's fair. Not sure that's going to happen on this channel, but we can vibe with abstract
@@KathyLuluandDonna Understandable. One never knows where one will go with a little help from a, I'm not sure Friend is the right word, but for an outside observer it can be quite a show. I remember watching 2001: A Space Odyssey with a friend. She had never seen it and had been told that a little something something would enhance the experience. I didn't recommend it, but she is a grown woman, so... I never realized a Stanley Kubrick movie could be so funny. She claims she doesn't remember saying some of the things she said, but I think that's probably selective amnesia kicking in. Anywho, she's decided to cut way back on the devil lettuce. Wise choice, in my opinion.
The whole song is about living a fuller life in your dreams than in real life. That anything and everything is possible and can happen in your dream. When you are afraid you can disappear into your dreams, your imagination.
Fun reaction!!
Where you guys all from? I’m down in Perth Australia ;-)
We are from Texas,USA. Thanks for watching.
Buena racción !
Really? Do we have to get everything? No. Sometimes just enjoy the music. There is no need to dissect a song or the music. Sometimes the song is nothing more than feelings made into a song. Just saying.
Wow , he didnt mention anything about ann and nancy great voices !! , got hung up on trying to figure out the exact meaning of the video ???
Probably the greatest female fronted band made up of sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson...They are in the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame...Inducted in 2013..They took off with their carreer in the mid 70's..Hits like "Barracuda","Crazy On You","Magic Man' "Straight On" " Never", "Alone", "All I Want To Do Is Make Love To You" "Dog And Butterfly" among many others...Ann the Brunette is the lead singer..Nancy sings backup vocals..This is the rare exception that Nancy is doing the singing and her sister is doing backup..You can't go wrong with any of their songs...
Been listening to Heart since the mid 1970's. Some great music from them: "Barracuda", "Magic Man", "Crazy On You", "Dog and Butterfly" and so much more!
We'll add it to the list.
The 80's were amazing!
See this version live in Seattle...In my top three best concerts at the Paramount theatre..they are older but still did an amazing job
The guy on the left is acting like it's a movie. It's not a movie, it's just an art video.
My guy is confused that dreams are confusing lol
THE MOST KICKASS GIRL GROUP EVER!!!
Love your reaction…please do any Pink Floyd live from the Pulse, you’ll be blown away.
The Wilson sister's are Legends !!
Just adore this song. Great pick. And nice channel, just discovered you's.
Looking forward to your first Springsteen reaction :))
Ann Wilson is definitely one of the better vocalis recent history. But in all honesty I have to say I wish Nancy had more lead vocals. There's something in her voice that is just special.
Can you imagine Lulu with that hairstyle! lol
That guy trying to be someone who doesn't understand this masterpiece it's very funny and ridiculous the same time..
This video depicts a dream world. I think Live in Seattle live version of this song and Alone is better.
Kids in 2000 30 years from now the songs they grew up on when they hear it again after 30 years there will be tears in their eyes. Those kids from the 80s has tears in their eyes when they hear 80s songs its because they know..they can never be back again to turn back time.
I am 51, I want to go back to 1980’s
@@shaungriffin150 there was a time in the 80s and early 90s that I feel like I want time to stand still because I know it won't be like this in the future. And the prophecy happens the future suks.
I see what you did there with the Cher reference....very cool.
You don't need to know what was happening, listen to the voices. This song is about a friend of Ann's that passed away from leukemia.
Yes... the big hair, shoulder pads, and pastels fashion was indeed hideous. ;)
As for the video... magic mushrooms,
Have u reacted to "Stairway To Heaven" from the Led Zepplin Tribute at Kennedy Center? Gave me chills. Featured Ann Wilson, a choir & others & was amazing & historic. Powerful video.
I appreciate the honest reaction. If you didn't grow up in the 80's, it's hard to get this type of video. Music videos were still relatively new and there was a lot of experimentation and showing off in artistic ways. Yes, it's very dream-like, but it's also an artistic expression and that doesn't appeal to everyone. You should definitely try Barracuda an All I Want to Do is Make Love to You. Both are excellent songs.
Saw them 3 times first time Texas jam Dallas cotton bowl 1978.
The 70s and 80s were the best, I would gladly give up all the technology and crap of today to go back.
Forget about the weird handle guitar, what's the goofy tapping thing he's doing on the thing?
Nancy Wilson ♥ Perfect woman
They are sisters and Ann (black hair) is the usual lead singer; Nancy (blonde) leads on this one. Gave Ann's voice a needed rest. Both have great voices and Nancy is a top guitarist too.
You probably brought your daughter into this world listening to this song, and yet...you basically ignore her the entire video? Interesting
If you dont get this video bro then your gay...and there is nothing wrong with you being gay...that is fine...just admit it
Billy idol - Catch My Fall
do heart's version of Led Zeplin's stairway to heaven.
You have too listen too the the song not watch the video. Ann the black haired woman,Nancy the blonde are real sisters and Nancy sang this song all of it.
Plase check Cakra khan cover Monster,,,is Fantastis Cover
Hard rock/aor Seattle band '80 sister Wilson.
Lulu looks enthralled.
You guys don’t know good music
Hate to say it…had to be there, it made lots of sense at the time.
Thanks for reacting to this! Love that Nancy gets to showcase her voice on These Dreams.
BTW, you have the link to Stairway, not These Dreams, up above :-}
Thank you! We don't always catch every change. We reuse templates so we don't have to type everything
Man, I miss the '80s.
Im old.
you should do more heart magic man all i wanna do is make love to you . alone . what about love. never. crazy on you. straight on .
We'll add it to the list.
we got the best in the 80s
We absolutely agree.
I'm always looking at your kid's reaction because this is all new to her. I'm surprised that more teens or people in their early 20s don't react to old music because they could probably have a large following. I feel like there's a lot of great music that Gen Zers aren't aware of.
We agree.
her eyes were cracking me up lol
hi Lulu, thank you for bringing this great band, I love heart this song is very beautiful the band has many beautiful songs too, you know the song alone it is a very beautiful song too, Your parents are beautiful and young Lulu, listen to your parents Lulu they know the things in life, happiness to you and your family. Take care Lulu you are a blessing.
Good parenting 👌❤️ TX from Québec Canada 🇲🇶🇨🇦🤟
The handle on the guitar is called a whammy bar. When used it caused a distinctive reverb effect. Was very common
I usually say, not even those of us that were alive in the 80s knew what the videos were about. About the only way there was to understand the music videos in the 80s, was to be high when you watched them. All my friends that smoked, could tell me what it was about, when I couldn't. Makes sense, since all the bands were high when writing the music, the video and recording the video, and any other time of day. .
They adapted very well to the times…such talent.Sometimes we forget the great band they had.Quit trying to outthink it…
No Donna? Is she OK?
This video was before Donna joined the channel. Donna is fine. Thanks for checking on her.
@@KathyLuluandDonna Interesting. Donna was the last on the channel. I'm 65 and she's closest in age to me. She remembers and relates to the same things I can.
Have you done Blondie?
Added it to list
@@KathyLuluandDonna also “What’s going on” - by “4 non Blondes”
Two sisters, Ann and Nancy Wilson. Nancy has blonde hair and Ann has dark hair
one of my favorite band Ann Nacy they are sisters
Don't feel bad, most people don't know what is going on in most 80s music video's, not even those of us old enough to have seen the premier on MTV
Ridiculous hair and clothes, but the music and the talent speak for themselves.
The liner notes of the album "Heart" state that the track was written by Martin Page (The House of Stone and Light), and dedicated to Wilson's good friend Sharon Hess, who died from leukemia shortly before it was released. The lyrics of the track describe the fantasy world a woman enters, every time she sleeps, when faced with a difficult situation in life.
Much better music back then!
In my humble opinion, the best guitarist ever and the most beautiful. ♥
Saludos desde Argentina
Good reaction ! (Although it seems strange that I comment so many times, I do it so that the video has more comments and thus yt recommends it more)
Thanks for that!
Try Barricuda ?
Already on channel.
