Master's of war is so good it could have been written yesterday it's that relevent. It's alright ma is the greatest lyrically written song ever in my humble opinion. Even Dylan said he couldn't write that now.
Look for a live performance of Dylan from this period. He wore an adjustable wire contraption around his neck which held his harmonica at mouth level, allowing him to play harmonica and guitar simultaneously. He occasionally used it to hold a cigarette as well. It is highly unlikely there was any technological enhancement like reverb on his recordings on these early, folk albums. The folk music ethos was spare and authentic performance.
You might want to watch martin scorcese’s “No direction home” which covers the music scene in the early 60’s in america and the first 5 years of dylan’s career. Also second “Masters of War”
Well, being an amateur sing-ga and songg-right-ta.............I'm so glad that there are intelligent young people that still exist, such as you are! Young people that have trained themselves to have a longer attention span than a tic tok video! Keep up the intelligent anaysis cause it's needed.
The fist album I ever bought back in 1967. Loved Bob first, then Donovan. Rolling Stones. My mother was always telling me to turn the music down. LOL. I was always looking for my guitar man. Got him 48 years ago. We fell in love to Led Zepplin. Had to go buy a mandolin.

I’m a traveling on. It’s an old folk song thing. I love the way Dylan embraces tradition while rejecting convention. 😊
The live version of "It's Allright Ma" is from Bob in England 1965 documented in the great film "Don't Look Back"

Love bob great lyrics
Without researching it, I'm pretty sure that spring reverbs were around in '63. A portion of sound was routed through a long spring to get the effect.
There is one Dylan track that no one has done on UA-cam and it might be his best lyrics: Changing of the Guards (1977).

Killer lyrics about the end of a relationship.

Keep up the good work! 👍
Brownsville Girl
Let’s not forget that this is some sweet guitar pickîng 🫡
For sure
back in the 60's we had tape echoes
It was not the harmonica, it was a guitar string buzzing
Thank you!
Rhyming « knowd » with « road » is as badass as it gets 😂
Lol
Froggy went A-Courtin' - is an old folk song Pete Seeger and Woody Guthrie sang and Dylan listened to those guys intently ...... just a-sayin'
Still not as good as Visions of Johanna.
