Hi Joe, I've been away for a bit. Saw this pop in my email, so, Thanks Mate! I have played the original version of this all my playing life, since the 70s. But am more of a fingerstyle player anymore. Tossed the pic years ago.... This is an easy one with the alternating, Travis from 5/6 to 6/5. Oh well, And like TC says, practice with your thumb only, for about 10 years! LOL! Arean't we glad we did! Enjoying it. Thanks
Thanks, Joe. I appreciate it and am jealous of your left thumb and its youthful and flexible carpal-metacarpal joint! As an old guy, I can’t make that work, so I look for ways to play the same bass lines and rolls/melodies that you do. It’s a challenge, but “don’t think twice, it’s alright”!
Absolutely excellent I am quite new to finger style I am so grateful to you for taking the time to break down all the sections I really appreciate and enjoyed this video thanks Joe it great to learn from the best 🙏🙏😊🎸👌👍👍👍
Then you would play 4,3,5,3 - but I hardly ever do that. I usually modify the chord so that the root is on the 5th string. In this song the 5th and 6th string patterns only are used.
The only way I can legally distribute this sheet music is through MusicNotes. Hal Leonard and Alfred have more or less a duopoly on print music licensing and they use MusicNotes and SheetMusicPlus as their only authorized digital sheet music distribution platforms, from my understanding. Musicnotes do not publish using GP format due to them having their own midi player system. So there’s the full answer of why I cannot provide GP files, even though I use Guitar Pro myself and recommend it.
Thanks so much for the reply@@Joe_Robinson A licensing issue was what I predicted would be the answer to my question, as I am currently going through two of your courses on Udemy. Which I am very much enjoying and what I bought Guitar Pro for. Cheers for all your hard work.
Dylan plays it in that C position, just sounds right for this song. Here is a different version with me playing in the open E position: ua-cam.com/video/KSuliFNKDzI/v-deo.html

I only wish that my fingers listened to my brain as well as yours do. So smooth. Thanks for posting.
Hey Joe, glad I have that first course, Frieght Train, Hotel California…. Thanks for your time and attention on the music journey
Thanks John! Wishing you all the best!
Thanks for this Joe. I like your comment about not being too rigid and it's meant to have some "looseness" to it. Keep the train rolling along!
Thanks Pat!
You are the best Joe!
Guitar Master 👏👏👏👏
Very cool Joe. You may get me back on the guitar. I need to attain one first. Probably a simple nylon string.

YES! Since you made this arrangement, I've been dying to learn it!

Tada!🤗
Hi sir💐
In the 6,4,5,4 and the 5,4,6,4 thumb picking - what to do if the route note is ln 4th fret, in like a D chord?
Then you would play 4,3,5,3 - but I hardly ever do that. I usually modify the chord so that the root is on the 5th string. In this song the 5th and 6th string patterns only are used.
@@Joe_Robinson I see, thank you for answering my question 🙏
Need a tutorial for never too late by te

Bruce Langhorne played the finger picking melody. Not Dylan. Dylan just strums.
Hey Joe, I love your arrangement of this song. However, is there any chance of publishing the tab in GP format? Thanks.

I've never seen bob Dylan finger picking this song. He strums it. He had someone else finger picking for him on the record.
That acoustic guitar has an amazing tone, sounds like a Taylor 814.
It would be so awsome if the chords were shown on the screen. You do such great job explaining , otherwise.
That's the secret, learn barre by barre. Tks Joe
Absolutely, this is the key to learning Fingerstyle guitar.
Why do you play with the capo. Why not just play song in the key of E?

That guitar is distinctively gibson, and it sounds very good. One of the very few that do now days.
